davidnark
...to anyone (except Thicks), Mizzou got their butts kicked by Colorado tonight.
thetorch
That will make my day a little brighter. Mizzou is completely out of the tourney hunt with that loss. If we don't beat UAB we will be right with them though.
MUFAN2000
I don't think we're out of the tourney hunt. It's definitely less likely, but i've never thought it odd when an 8-10 loss team makes the tourney.
thetorch
The only tourneys SPUMAC is in the hunt for are the Big 12, in which everyone is invited, and the NIT, which is becoming less and less of a reality. SPUMAC is a .500 team, has been all year and with their schedule it won't change.
MUFAN2000
Anything's possible. SLU fans should know plenty about that...Wasn't it the bills who reeled off a long winning streak to end the season last year, over competition who seemed to be "above" them? Quality Is Job 1
I went 0 for 3 today. My Bulldogs (JV) had a five-game winning streak snapped as we lost to Ladue in the first round of the Suburban East Sophomore Tournament at Wellston. Then the Bills lost, and the Tigers got slapped. All this on the day after my birthday. Sigh!!!
SluSignGuy
...GW beat Xavier.. Steve
billiken_roy
and that long winning streak got us to?
tseugnekillib
Picture this.....Missouri vs. SLU in a first round NIT game at Hearnes. Last game every played at Hearnes and SLU beats a dis-interested Missouri team!
MUFAN2000
Kleiza would probably eat Josh Fisher. I mean that literally, not figuratively.
billiken_roy
a shot at the inbalanced tigers would be a joy. i still am amazed at $nyder's roster. how in the world did he f up that badly? 3 pf's and 4 wings make no sense.
billiken_roy
as big and strong as klieza is, you better take a good look at fisher. the man is ripped. i wouldnt p!ss him off.
Quality Is Job 1
I think it should be at Savvis.
MUFAN2000
It would be, if SLU were the higher seed...
billiken_roy
it would probably be held at the venue that could guarantee the most revenue. the nit is all about revenue and little else. imo, it is a total waste of time.
Box and Won
Seed, schmeed. We'd get the game because it would bring in more cash at the gate than it would if played at Hearnes.
MUFAN2000
Having had the chance to see Kleiza in person on a regular basis (he lives in the dorm next to mine), I will categorically state that he could probably eat Magnus Vermagnusson. MUFAN2000
because it'd be a home game for both teams, perhaps? Wait...your name's on the door...my fault.
former_d1
More money in it for the nit if it is at the savvis center....
billiken_roy
and actually, it is more money for the tigers. or at least the tigers payroll as the rent money for the game goes to laurie who writes the tiger paychecks.
thetorch
Seeds are not cut and dry in the NIT. If SLU and Mizzou played the game would be at Savvis and they would switch the seeds around if they had to.
BLIKNS
With games left against Kansas(twice),Oklahoma State,@Nebraska,@K-State,TT,UNLV,and Iowa State, and the NIT rule of having at least a .500 record, the NIT is NOT a given.
