Shaping up perfectly for Travis Ford to UK

Hahhahah they'd burn Rupp to the ground

Pete Thamel X post, Calipari to Arkansas. Interesting. Another report said he was told he'd have $5mil NIL fund.

Who does UK go after?  Nate Oats?

If Coach does that will be noteworthy.

Jesuit school  so ya never know, that's how Father Stark SJ got there once upon a time, late life conversion.

Although I didn't really care for Father Stark his smoking probably made him really bad at basketball.  Though my theology 101 professor, forgot his name used to lace em up in Simon Rec from time to time

  3. Credit to a poster on the Sycamore board, yeah we're stealing your coach now I'm stealing your post content.  They noticed two of their assistants in the Schertz SLU video.

Another coach that has a body resemblance to the Billiken, the last 2 (Spoon, Majerus) did well. We’re so back!

Was going to say the coach who most resembles a Billiken since Bob Bender.

Did the AD have a "come to Jesus moment"?

Gotta say they're stepping up their game right now.  Will it last?

    There is truth to this.

"Good portion". Look at the thread aren't you always the one that wants the proof? Many of us were upset by the hire.  We were right, we're still right. Sure there were a few that liked the hire.

But what I'm interested in, is why does it matter now? Even if a "good portion" of the board was excited?  That "good portion" was wrong.

But those that weren't enthused, like me gave him a chance. He came in hot on the recruiting. That turned the negative sentiment but in the end it never mattered.

  6. We've already brought up the old thread and many of us that wanted him gone the last couple years, didn't want him in the first place.  One astute poster advocated for TJ Otzelberger.

So keep going with your revisionist history to try and tell us we were all wrong in an effort to excuse the bad hire and contract.  The board is not a monolithic group. Just because some of you light candles and grab the Jurgens whenever Chris May does something doesn't mean we all do.

In fact I correctly predicted Ford's tenure 8 years ago.  Billikenstradamus if you will.

I wanted Leon Rice, who's done well.

My post 8 years ago, "5 tourney appearances 1 win.

So he recruits great right? Gets to the tournament 5 of 8 years. 1 Tournament win? Bad luck all those times or you just suck? Probably suck. Usually I'm not one of the posters that lose their head but this hire is bull . I really hope I'm wrong but this is just dumb. I knew the B Drew deal was real tenuous cause he's at his alma mater blah blah blah but there were/are plenty acceptable candidates. Leon Rice, Ingelburt, TJ Otzenhausershein etc. We let Stansbury, and others go for T. Ford? 1 tourney win at OSU?"

I actually have one coming of Frank.  There is a dude in Canada that is producing a bunch of NASL retro player cards

Nice he's my friend's (former SLU roommate) dad.  Great guy, why to SLU law too (the dad).

Send me a link to your source, please.

Just got home from my trip to the WNIT championship game and got this stash in the mail.   Two current stars and two legends.   Very happy.

See the thing about that is…the criticism of May has nothing to do with on field winning or losing. Rather the dysfunctional culture under his leadership.

Game day operations, NIL strategy (previously), marketing to include social media, media press releases, failure of the compliance for multiple players this basketball season.....

C student level no innovation, no leadership

Agree. Grassroots was a joke. I’m sure they’re organizing now to remove May.

    Coach Ford is gone.

SLU is hiring a coach that many on this board wanted.

Actions taken by people in this thread made national level websites.

Multiple articles about AD May's future.

Rumors swirling that May is retiring.

I'm sure all that had nothing to do with the pressure amped up by posters on this board, podcasts, X posts.

I'd like to thank you @DOC for the role you so willingly played. You see, despite your ignorance and inane posts you helped to bump this thread to the top.  Thus keeping it active and your constant, ignorant, bad takes became the representation of those against the movement.

  11. I like the article, when you need to have articles like this written you know there's problems/pressure.  So it's good.

I think, I hope May retires soon. Because I don't think SLU is competitive (cut throat) enough to fire him. So they'll let him retire.

Keep the pressure on. SLU AD isn't a cush spot to chill and collect a check. We need results. We need some leadership. We can do better than Chris May.

  12. ISU board melt down.  Just silliness.  The program, the school belongs, to us the graduates. it doesn't belong to the AD who is not a SLU grad.  It doesn't belong to the President, who is not a SLU grad.  It doesn't belong to the coach, who is not a SLU grad.  It doesn't belong to the players unless they become SLU grads.  To expect loyalty and anything other than coach speak is niaviete.  It's especially niaviete in 2024.

So steel yourselves true Billiken fans if Schertz is successful here he probably moves on and we break the heart of another lesser supported Basketball program when we have to hire again.

    C'est la vie

I'll enjoy the 3 years and hope we hire well again.  I'm not a fan of Kentucky or Michigan or UCLA we're somewhere in the middle and I'm at peace with that place.

  13. I'm happy that Norlander wrote an article he's a hardcore respected national CBB writer.  Plus I like his and Parrish's podcast. He wouldn't write it unless he had it on his authority it was happening.  He and Parrish get direct texts from coaches all over the country.

I'm hoping for a formal announcement by tomorrow with presser to follow Tuesday.  I gotta enjoy this eclipse being in the best place in the world to view it.

Then I'd expect portal activity to go quickly IF his guys are going to follow.  Guys like Avila are good in his system and may not work in other systems.  Just a sophomore he can get better.

Plus they played some tough competition in the NIT, AAC, B12, BE and did well.
