  1. I also wonder about how much time we spend on watching tape. If the NCAA limits the time you can spend on basketball how much of that is devoted to tape? I can invision RM droning on in the locker room when that time might be better spent shooting free throws. Don't get me wrong, I'm convinced Rick will take us to the promised land, but he does have his quirks.
  2. I think bringing up the Clagget- Highmark class is a good point.
  3. This is what I have stated for years. The reason we should be in the A-10 is for the next conference yet to be formed.
  4. That could explain why he hasn't been playing. You wouldn't want to blow up the trade by Larry getting hurt.
  5. Speaking of the NBA what's the deal with Larry Hughes? He hasn't played in about 6 or 7 games due to coaches decision. Larry makes 12+ million dollars a year and can't get off the bench. I thought he was having a decent year. I know his 3pt shooting % is way up. Hinrch came back from injury and Larry hasn't played. I know he would be hard to trade because of his salary but I still think he could help somebody.
  6. I don't know how much or if anything Rick gets paid for doing a post game show, but I believe a lot of coaches get good bucks for doing radio.I bet if a big sponsor put up some big $'s you would have Rick every game, then the challenge would be to get him to shut up.
  7. Roy you give them way too much credit. They are not that bright.
  8. Come on Skip' What could be better than Larry Siiiiiiiiimoooooons. I'll say it again I have no problem with Guy. I don't get the hate.
  9. Siaus was before Owen in the Ecker/Grawer days. I'm sorry but Owen is about as exciting as watching paint dry. He has a good voice but no excitement.
  10. Hey Joe I just read your review of the 10 best new restaurants in the Post. Good Stuff but I have a question. They are all east of 170.. Is that an accident or does that make some kind of statement about where new places need to be? You would think with all the money in West County there would be some outstanding new places there. Or maybe you just like coming into the city?
  11. I'm sorry I just don't get the Guy bashing on this board. Went to the womens game ,now that PA individual was bad. Guy has a good voice,a sense of humor, and seems to be a good fan. My guess is he is handed a script by the athletic dept. which called for the national anthem. If that is the case I thought he handled it pretty well. Sure he makes mistakes but I'll take Guy over the deadpan Mike Owens this board seems to adore.
  12. What I don't understand is how we pick our refs. Maybe this was done by the Vegas Tournament but I'm pretty sure those guys were from the East Coast. I know the tall black guy does ACC games and I've never seen the other two. It's Friday night why can't we get a Welmer or o"Neil or Roy's frient Pollard. You guys might not like them but their a damn sight better then last nights clowns.
  13. I think it's simple. We have always been a little light on having good athletes. If most of the teams you play are bigger stronger quicker you need to muck up the game. Hopefully as we get better athletes like willie the game will have a better flow. We didn't have anybody like upstates #32. So for us to win we need to slow it down, work for good shots, play hard defense, kill the clock,in other words play ugly.
  14. Rick said at the Tip-Off meeting that we were playing ND in Chicago. It must be like our game with DePaul, predetermined.
  15. Chris Lee from the Post is there almost every game.
  16. Valery Kodis[sp]. Use to work in the athletic dept.,now works for the Cardinals. Knows how to fill out a sweater.
  17. With all due respect I think Kevin's problem on the offensive end is that the ball is in his hand too much. Kevin is a shooter who needs to play into open space. He is much easier to guard with the ball in his hands. If I were coaching this team Tommie would be my backup point. I think he has become stronger with the ball since his sophmore year. What I really can't figure out is why everybody is blowing by Kevin on the defensive end. I actually hope he's hurt because maybe he'll get over that.
  18. Last night he played because everyone was in foul trouble. I'm not sure why Rubin didn't get more time,I thought he looked ok and didn't make any terrible mistakes. I know Rick likes him from last year but I don't see what PE is giving.
  19. Jale my question to you is Tommie encouraged or discouraged from attacking the basket? I agree that we are a better team when he takes it inside. Does Rick allow him to freelance? It appears to me we are running more pick and rolls which allows Tommie to break his man down. Does the game plan change from game to game? My question is it Rick or is it Tommie. As an aside to this I don't like Kevin as the backup point guard. When he has the ball in his hands to much he tries to penetrate and that is not his game.
  20. I have no problem with gimmick defense's,in fact I wish coaches would change looks more often. The difference here is Curry evidently just stood in the corner, and 2 Loyola players stood with him not playing defense. Also when you lose by 30 you change up.
  21. Loyola[MD] held Stephan Curry scoreless last night. The only problem is they lost by 30 points. Loyola coach Jimmy Patsos played a triangle and 2 the whole game. Curry just stood in the corner and Davidson played the whole game 4 on 3. Curry only shot the ball 3 times. Way to go coach Patsos you have your priorities right, you shut out Stephan Curry.
  22. I also don't want to get into one is better than the other[ilove them both},but yes I thought Tommie had a better game. I thought Kevin had a very mediocre game untill the last 5 min. when Skinner went away from his game plan and left Kevin wide open for a couple of 3's. Kevin was a non factor untill then. With about 10 min. to go Kevin had about 7 points. In my opinion that was not one of Kevins better games he just came up huge at the end thanks to Al Skinner and a couple of good feeds.
  23. We must have been watching a differnt game. I thought Tommie took it aggresively to the rim,he just couldn't finish. In fact Tommie has been very strong all year ,he just has not gotten his shot to fall. I thought he played great[yes roy better then kevin]. There is more to this game then who scores the most points.
