NCAA Soccer Selection Show (12pm Central)

Today on NCAA.com live D-1 soccer selection show at 1pm Easter/12 Central. SLU's RPI ended up 25. That said I still think SLU is likely to get a home game and an easier Automatic Bid opponent. SIU-Edwardsville won the Mo Valley so that would be the most likely 1st round opponent. There are a few other midwestern unseeded teams (Northwestern is likely to get a home game themselves but Oakland (MI) and Tulsa (again) are possible long shots).

I was wrong about the amount of tourney spots eaten by automatic bids. Fordham won the tournament (very good goalie) so I am not sure who of George Mason, Davidson, and/or Rhode Island goes. I would think at least one of them but who knows (Geo Mason has best adjRPI and Rhode Island has been best down the stretch).

No love for the A-10. Fordham plays at Dartmouth (might go to this) and that is it. No George Mason, Davidson, or Rhode Island (only Geo Mason deserved it but they kind of crapped it late in the year).

SIU-E goes to play Northwestern.

Saint Louis home game is on Thursday. ESPN will produce 4 games for live ESPN3 broadcast. I am hoping SLU is one of them.

Looks like Schapes/BoyBaker/whoever will be there tomorrow too. Don't waste your time trying to read through that board. I tried posting last year and he makes it unbearable, but here are some of his posts in just the last week

"Welmer was being recruited by Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Illinois and Wright State.

Not exactly Duke, Indinana and Marquette.

Neufeld wasn't offered by anyone else. I guess SLU has some inside knowledge no one else has."

"Shocking the fan boys didn't put this score up.

So much for the first round bye.

What has FORDHAM ever accomplished in NCAA soccer?

How embarrassing."

"Remind me again how many Final Fours SLU went to with Jett's class? ZERO!

If the Billikens are in such an elite class as you suggest, where are the recruits?

Obviously not impressed are they?

How many of Jett's class are on a NBA roster? Zero?"

Sure would be nice to meet him

Yeah that guy is a lunatic. Serious issues going on. I know there are some posters over there that have already called him out as Postcard. We all know his background. He sent 45 PMs to Backhand in 10 minutes. He's a nutcase.

ESPN had put 4 games (TBD) on their upcoming programming list but they have not shown any games for tonight on the WatchESPN app/site. In fact only Clemson's game is on ther for Sunday right now for men and 2 games tomorrow for women. If they list games I will let you know but right now I am not expecting to see SLU.

Worthless Tulsa related trivia from the Massey rivalry and other features:

SLU has played Tulsa on five occasions with the only victory coming this season. Tulsa scored four goals in each of their four victories including a 4-1 victory in 2010, a 4-3 victory in both the postseason and regular season and a 4-1 victory in 2005.

One common opponent this season in Creighton (tie 1-1).

The SLU and Tulsa athletic facilities are exactly 391 miles apart.
