Triangle andToo
1. The "X" man Too Purdue, very interesting that there was no SLU mention. It is a good move for Xavier - major stable conference, relatively close Too home, excellent coaching. In the family moving Too Belleville, there is also a social comment Too be made. 2."Missing Link" is no more - Linas has signed with Mizzou. Did you see the picture in the Post-Dispatch? - One of his arms makes up the total diameter of IO's arms and legs put Toogether. 3. One of our favorite coaches - Mike Deane may resurface as the head coach at Wagner. This guy shouldn't even have the word "Coach" affiliated with his name. 3. Darius is Body Slammed - Nationally recognized NBA writer Sean Deveney recently took some real jabs at local legend Darius Miles. In trying Too predict the future for LaBron James he stated that the best case scenario was Majic Johnson meets Tracy McGrady and the worst case scenario was Darius Miles meets Ricky Davis. Deveney also stated that LaBron's work ethic is a total mystery, it could be as good as Kobe Bryant or as bad as Darius Miles. 4. Vanderbilt's Loss - Cardinal Gain? - Monster PF Brian Thornton could be heading for his hometown of Louisville. 11.5 pts a game and 6 rebs per game are figures that Coach Pitino drools over. Coach Pitino merely drools - Coach Soderberg would have a heart attack over getting a guy like this. 5. Coaches vs. Schools vs. Conferences - With the impending upheaval of the ACC and the Big East and possibly a bunch of other conferences - what about a player who commited Too a conference? Say a certain student/athlete wanted Too play in the Big East and was only offered one schollie from a Big East school - so he took it. The Big East is no more, but the school is still there and the recruiting coach is still there - should that student/athlete be allowed Too transfer without penalty? - Triangle says yes - It is very apparent that the NCAA is "conference oriented" - no involvement with schools or coaches. Student/atletes are more and more looking for that TV exposure and that only comes in the big buck major conferences. 6. New Billiken Basketball Game Promo - "Kiss Cam" - That idiot in Cinci who got caught on that thing now faces 18 years in prison for drug trafficking. Hopefully he will be on the same cell block with other Bearcat players and/or fans. Considering the amount of prisoners that have mysteriously walked out of the St. Louis Jail and City Workhouse, maybe metro parole officers should buy season tickets Too Billiken basketball games - lets be careful out there people. 7. Very Refreshing - That Larry Brown is a very hot commodity - owners are firing coaches in order Too get him. He is the absolute best teacher and coach of the pure game. Some owners have finally realized that with the great influx of the very young and inexperienced college players and the invasion of already knowledgeable European players - Larry Brown is the coach Too melt these players inToo an NBA championship team. 8. Attendance Record - Look for our Billikens Too set an all time home game attendance record next year in our game against the University of Arizona. There is going Too be a total marketing effort by SLU along with media hype featuring interviews with Coach Olson and Arizona players during the entire week previous Too the game. This is a game worthy of "the Dome", but it will be played at our Savvis. Oh by the way, Onion Horton is a HUGE fan of Arizona. 9. Forest Through the "WOODS" - Cograts Too Lindenwood for winning the "Directors Cup Trophy" for Division NAIA schools for total sports accomplishments and excellence. This is a school that has dedicated their sports dollars Too a total sports program - both through individual accomplishments and team accomplishments. Mizzou and SLU should take note. They are the "Stanford" of the NAIA. 10. Monitoring local hospitals - There has been no heart attacks attributed Too the excitement over the recent Billiken basketball recruiting class signings. This would not be a total shock unless you factor in the average age of a Billiken season ticket holder and the angles from which they are going Too have Too view these players. so it goes........ billiken_roy
as usual, tri, you apparently did zero homework before spewing your jibberish. first on xaiver, he indeed did list st louis as a finalist. this is from bob gibbons new website, "hoopmasters.com": "Two More Juniors Make Early Decisions By Jeremy Tiers [email protected] A pair of outstanding guards, one from Illinois, and the other from Texas, recently decided that they were ready to make their collegiate decision. Xavier Price, a 6-3 200 lbs. 2G with the St. Louis Eagles recently decided to offer Gene Keady and the Purdue Boilermakers a verbal commitment. Price has turned in strong performances this spring at the Howard Pulley/Sabes Invitational, St. Louis Eagles Invitational, and the NIKE MDC. He is a big time athlete and scoring guard that can handle the ball and brings energy and toughness to the table. As a junior, Price averaged 18.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game at O’Fallon H.S. in O’Fallon, IL. Price chose Purdue over heavy interest from Cincinnati, UNLV, Oklahoma, St. Louis, and Kansas State, among others." as to his reasons for transferring to belleville west, i doubt seriously if it has any social roots other than the fact that o'fallon high sucks and belleville west is a returning final 8 team with 3 returning stars besides xaiver. that and the fact xaiver's father moved to belleville. maybe you could expand on your "socialism" comment more though for our benefit? second item of no research, thornton has already declared he is headed to xavier per chris monter. look it up for yourself at http://collegebasketballnews.theinsiders.com/ according to the story at chris' site, thorton didnt even consider louisville. it came down to xavier, michigan and boston college. atendance record vs arizona? why? no rivalry, not a returning close game it follows a blowout last year and most, besides our little circle of billiken hardcores, will expect the same this year. i personally will be suprised if the game sells out. the dome would have been a huge mistake. your efforts to try to make our papal conference dreams look non-politically correct have been comical. if it is so wrong to not have any religious diversity in this dreamed conference, then why isnt wrong that the big 12 has zero private religious affiliated schools in the makeup? wouldnt the diversity issue work both ways? last, still waiting to hear your comments on why pulley is now a candidate for big 12 player of the year when he was a coach romar recruit to st louis university you considered him poison? especially considering that he has demonstrated at st louis and at juco that he cant shoot. why the flip flop? tseugnekillib
broy, while I understand your point, I believe Baylor University is affiliated with the Baptist church. Isn't it amazing how many dumb sh*t statements that Toofus and Mike Tyson can make in a year's time! By the way, don't expect Toofus to respond to your Pulley question any time soon. When he lays an egg, Toofus typically hides for a week or so, and then just post more bs. Maybe this is the season he will change his m/o. slufanskip
Why does anyone even reply to Too. Just ignore him he will eventually go away ... why would a fan of one school consistently post on anothers message board all year long. Maybe he is bored .. his mom probably won't let him go out and play.
billiken_roy
skip we have tried ignoring him. he is like johnson grass though. i try to stay away, but so so often he blantantly lies or misrepresents the true picture, someone has to say something. slufanskip
I understand ... but seriously ..we all know the story so if we just ignore him ... you never know ..he may go away .. it is our responses that keep him coming back ...
PinkFloyd
All the man is doing is giving his opinions. He seems to me to be a very serious basketball fan. Whether you agree with him or not is not a reason for hostility.
billiken_roy
pinkie, you must be kidding? if you love him so much, plead with him to frequent your tigerboard. you can have him.
NashvilleBilliken
I don't even think these are Too's real opinions. Some of the things that he posts are soooo utterly ridiulous that not even somebody as deranged as Too could actually believe it. I think he just tries to stir up controversy and belittle the Bills anyway possible. It definitely works...no Billiken fan can let this kind of stuff go on OUR board. But he does make me laugh sometimes, no doubt about that.
PinkFloyd
So big fricking deal you don't agree with him. I guess everyone should adjust their thinking to match yours? Wow, you are a little bit too self-centered.
billiken_roy
not really, but i wont hide my dislike for the typical tiger fans like you and too. there are about 325 division I program fan groups i would say i would prefer to converse with and hear from before any tiger fans. i just dont understand why you dont just leave us alone. you dont see us on the tigerboard do you? PinkFloyd
The reason I brought up in an earlier post that Linas signed with the Tigers is because I thought that info might be informative to basketball fans on this board. Sorry it ruffled your feathers. By the way, lighten up, ok?
Billiken Rich
Roy is a bit too sensitive. Too is a pot stirring MU fan. I love them both. There would be damned little to read on this board with out both of them. Unfortunately during the really slow times the board may degenerate into Too saying something particularly goofy and Roy calling in a verbal airstrike do defend our honor. Following that exchange there is the inevitable call for everyone to ignore Too and talk about basketball. Every once in a great while I have this dark fantasy that Thicks or Steve will threaten to pull the message board over and come back there and separate those two..... billiken_roy
it's kind of interesting that according to the board profiles, your last name and too's last name are the same only different spellings. but i have also learned that you cant trust a lot of these profiles here as many are full of made up information. btw, you havent ruffled my feathers one bit. as rich detailed, i just enjoy defending the billiken fandom honor. especially against the evil tiger empire. i really dont take it personal. i would be happy to have a beer with you and too anytime. i bet it would be one hell of an interesting evening. SluSignGuy
I don't think many people would want me to pull this Message Board over to the side of the road. The bloody thing was already in the shop for a Month, and it just got going again. hehe, I do love that the message board has had about 11000 posts over the past year. And our TOP Two posters: Triangle and Too: 1050 Posts billiken_roy: 2865 Posts Where would our board be without 'em! You gotta love Billikens.com! thetorch
Do you have a list of top posters? and thanks for your help with my problems accesing the site.
Quality Is Job 1
Whenever you want to see a list of the top posters, go to the lobby (pull-down menu at the bottom of the main board page). Then click the "check who's online" link. Then, under "Sort by which field?" choose "Sort by posts." Then select "Check last month" from the pull-down menu under "Select another time range." Then click go, and you will get a relatively accurate list of the top posters (and everyone else who's checked in in the last 30 days). Here are the Top 20 posters (who've visited in the last month): billiken_roy Jun-02-03 03:23Â PM 2865 Triangle andToo Jun-01-03 00:36Â AM 1050 Schasz May-20-03 08:03Â PM 709 Basketbill Jun-02-03 12:06Â PM 583 thetorch Jun-02-03 07:29Â PM 574 aj_arete Jun-02-03 11:04Â AM 546 thicks Jun-02-03 08:10Â PM 546 davidnark Jun-02-03 08:54Â AM 531 DeSmetBilliken May-30-03 02:15Â PM 513 jjray Jun-02-03 02:41Â PM 432 3star_recruit May-31-03 08:09Â AM 422 BLIKNS May-30-03 11:31Â PM 381 SluSignGuy Jun-02-03 05:49Â PM 363 TheA_Bomb May-21-03 10:06Â AM 328 Billiken Law Jun-02-03 06:17Â PM 322 Taj79 Jun-02-03 07:58Â AM 297 Billiken Rich Jun-02-03 10:53Â AM 294 slu72 Jun-02-03 10:47Â AM 246 BigMacSLU88 May-29-03 03:28Â PM 241 UNCA SODABERGER May-17-03 05:14Â PM 226 Torch, you are No. 5. Or you could say people posting several hundred times on this board don't have lives, myself included. At least I am not as bad as Roy though ;-)
