Patrick Schulte selected to USMNT roster

Patrick Schulte is on the USMNT roster, along with fellow Billiken Tim Ream. Two Billikens on the national team!

Game against Canada on Sep 7th at Children’s Mercy Sport Park in Kansas City, game against New Zealand on Sep 10th at TQL stadium in Cincinnati.

When was the last time we had 2 Billikens on the same roster? I’m thinking possibly Brad Davis and Brian McBride. Seems like they may have overlapped at least a couple of years

I think they did overlap in 2005-2006, at the end of Brian McBride’s time on the team and during the start of Brad Davis’s time on the USMNT.

I bet Mike Sorber played with McBride a few years earlier as well.

Looked it up, Brian McBride and Mike Sorber played together on the US team from 1993-1998. Brian McBride stopped playing for the USMNT in 2006, so he missed playing when Mike Sorber was named as an assistant coach on the USMNT in 2007. So @OkieBilliken you win that bet, nice call!

Good memory  

McKeon earned two caps with the United States national team, both at the 1999 Confederations Cup, his first coming on July 30 against Germany.

Matt played at every level of U.S. Soccer, beginning with U14, U17, U20, U23, Olympics, USMNT.

The lack of intensity from players trying to earn more time is ridiculous. 
 

The drop off from Jedi and Dest to anyone else is huge. 
 

If we don’t find better central defenders by the WC we are in trouble. Nothing against Tim Ream but if he’s our best at this stage in his career. Ouch

Unfortunately what you say is true. Same lackadaisical play as we saw in COPA. 

The subs and Schulte weren’t the problem.  Give aways by Cardoso and Ream led to the goals.
 

We still don’t have a striker.   
 

Let’s hope we show up against #94 New Zealand on Tuesday.
