cheesycow
Helluva run by the hawks, but I'm sure Billy Packer feels a bit vindicated in saying that OSU deserved the 1 seed over st. joes.
tseugnekillib
Cheesecake, by your logic Kentucky and Stanford shouldn't have been seeded as Ones because they lost early. Billy P gets paid to make bold statements. Billy P is a BCS kind of guy......i.e., only the super conferences are great and should get all of the rewards. Bullsh*t! cheesycow
St. Joes was rated the 4th best team in the field, OSU was rated the 5th best team. Head to head, OSU won. I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest that maybe they were more deserving, especially when considering that the Big 12 championship game (which OSU won) wasn't considered in the seeding process. Alonzo P Hawk
it may not have been the same thing, but you tried using the same logic to prove your point. was alabama more deserving of a 1 seed then? poser
St.Joe earned my respect tonight as well as the A-10 in general. Xavier sent Texas packing and has a great shot against Duke tomorrow. Let's just hope Reddick doesn't get hot. Big XII proved their worth once again in the tournament. I think they'll end up with two teams in the Final Four...again. The BigXII receiving 4 bids was a complete joke. So far BigXII teams are 10-2 in the tourney. Bottom line, Colorado deserved a bid with a 10-6 record and 4th place in the conference. Go Pokes! cheesycow
I don't think that it's silly to think that OSU deserved a 1 seed more than St. Joe's, and if my logic seems flawed so be it.
Quality Is Job 1
In my opinion, it was Stanford which did not deserve a No. 1 seed.
SShoe
OKState won by two in a game that could've gone either way. Packer should not be saying I told you so when the two other 1 seeds lost in the 2nd round and St. Joe beat a very good Wake team and Bobby Knight. no respect given to St. Joe's, who could've just as easily have won tonite. cheesycow
expected to make it exactly as far as they did. It's not like being a 2 seed is disrespect at all. I just think that Oklahoma State was the better team, and was more deserving of a 1 seed. It's all moot now, and hopefully OSU wins the tournament. It couldn't happen to a classier guy in Eddie Sutton. He shouldn't have to go more than 38 wins without a tournament victory.
billiken_roy
eddie sutton and classy dont work in the same sentence. he is the guy that had kentucky on probation for sending cash to players. he is the guy that lied to maurice baker about being his point guard and thus got him to come to ok state over st louis. eddie sutton is scum. if you want to get all nostalgic because he looks to be about a thousand years old and you feel sorry for him, whatever, but dont call that creep classy. cheesycow
"he is the guy that lied to maurice baker about being his point guard and thus got him to come to ok state over st louis. eddie sutton is scum." Holding a grudge, roy? Eddie Sutton is a class person. I got the chance to meet him for a few minutes this year when they came to play Mizzou, and he held himself in high regard. I find it hard to call people I've never met "scum," but I suppose it's different on the east side.

Tonka
Oh you did, cheeseycow? Well now, that changes everything! He must be a classy guy if he was nice to talk to to held himself in high regard! Laughable! What did you expect? For him to come in town and start swinging at people?

Surely you have something more substantial than a few minutes with Eddie to support that he is a class guy.

TheBand
How does spending an insignificant amount of time with someone equate to their ability to know a person's history? The FACT that the Kentucky program was put on probation due to Sutton's actions when he was there is evidence enough that the man has had occasion where he operated in a "scummy" manner. Personal relationships are outweighed by evidence, my boy, and the evidence is apparant in the Sutton case. Your 2 minutes with him are irrelevent, Eddie dug his own grave and chose to lie in it a LONG time ago.

billiken_roy
i dont want to ever spend time with him. i think the fact he was allowed to continue to coach one more second after that money fell out of the fed ex envelope should have been enough to send him to the used car lots forever. slufanskip
No offense taken ... Since I just opened a new lot ... I'm hoping for some money to fall out of a fed ex envelope ... I have a couple employees following Quinn and the SPUMAC assistant coaches now ... I feel my chances of coming up with something that way are pretty good. Official Billikens.com sponsor of H. kshoe
A few years ago when the Bills played in Las Vegas over Thanksgiving my family went out of the tournament. OK-State was playing in a tournament that ended a day before ours started and had won the championship game the day we arrived. Anyway, after a few hours of gambling and drinking I decided to use the bathrooms. To my surprise I found myself using the urinal next to Eddie Sutton. I congratulated him on winning the tournament and asked if he thought he’d beat Mizzou this year. He said they looked tough but he would try. I thought that was a very “classy†response and it seems to collaborate CheeseyCow’s meaningful experience with him. I can honestly say I’ve never had a classier discussion with a head coach of a Big 12 team in a Casino bathroom.
