  1. Since the topic of who the NHL would prefer in the finals was discussed in this thread, game 7 was the highest rated NHL game since 1994. St. Louis was the top rated market through the Stanley cup playoffs. Always a good thing to show what this market can do for TV ratings for sports other than the Cardinals.
  2. Saw the title of this and I all I could think of it
  3. I heard Deweys. Faraci's has been around for a long time as a family run pizza place. I love it. They close for like a month every summer when the family goes on vacation and I always have a craving for it during that month. I didn't realize he only did cheese. I was surprised Imo's got that high when I heard that because their cheese is how he described, not much too it. Also, people not from St. Louis tend to not like Provel cheese. Had friends at SLU from different states that would get the Joe Boccardi's pizza with different cheese when they ordered it.
  4. Well about time we go all Bob Barker on them then:
  5. While I do agree, unfortunately I believe I remember Keith Tkachuk getting flak for wearing a Red Sox hat to the World Series in 04.
  6. Not a great read here but one I enjoy, especially the title: Jayson Tatum Triggers Boston Fans By Celebrating Blues Win On Twitter
  7. Going back to this post with Scott Stevens and everything in between. The reason the Scott Stevens incident happened was because we lost him originally as part of compensation for signing Brendan Shanahan when he was a restricted free agent. The Blues talked to Stevens before free agency started which was the rule they broke but he would’ve been on the Blues already had they not signed Shanahan. So what was everything that happened in between? Well the Blues ended up trading Shanahan for a young defenseman Chris Pronger (who was at last Billikens home game) who led to the Blues to a Presidents trophy but no cup appearance. After the lockout, Bill Laurie wanted to make the team easier to sell so traded bigger contracts which meant Pronger was traded for Eric Brewer, Jeff Woywitka, and Doug Lynch which was a terrible trade. Eric Brewer was traded 6 years later for Brock Beukeboom, who never made the NHL, and a third round pick in the 2011 draft. The third-round pick in 2011 became…Jordan Binnington who has led the Blues to someplace they haven’t been in 49 years. Sometimes things that happen in between may happen for a reason which is why sports are always fun to follow. Could he be the Prince that was promised? Either way this ride is one I will never forget. Come on Torch, join the rest of us idiots and become a "worst fan in hockey". I sure don't follow the Billikens because the A10 refs are so great in an incredibly run NCAA.
  8. I say the same thing for Mizzou basketball, they are in Missouri, not St. Louis. Might as well just claim the Chiefs if we are claiming a team in Missouri. Mizzou represents KC just as much as St. Louis and people in KC hate St. Louis. Blues are in St. Louis. Cardinals are in St. Louis. SLU is in St. Louis.
  9. Is this sarcasm? I honestly think it has to be right? I have never heard somebody criticizing fans for sticking with their team despite multiple owners and managers, that they have no control over, doing a bad job. Normally it's bandwagon fans that hop on when the team is winning because it's easy to be a fan then. Could you imagine if SLU fans had continue to "pack it in" from the mid 90s on and the Big East expanded and said, "Well your fans are terrible, Billiken basketball hasn't been run that great because of hires by the AD or President which they don't control but they just continue to support the team and pack the arena. Billiken fans are just the worst." I guess you are also saying the NCAA is great because I would say they are garbage too. Should I just give up my Billiken season tickets because the Blues have been closer to a cup then SLU has to a National Championship over my lifetime. "This franchise is such a joke. The owners are all local and give back to the community through charity and volunteering including the owner going out and packing food for the poor himself. The players and alumni show up at Children's hospital to brighten up kids suffering and invite them to games including paying for a big fan to go on road trips with the teams. What a joke of a franchise." This has to be a sarcastic post right?
  10. This is OT from the OT but was just looking at Jim Kavanaugh and saw his net worth was 1.9 billion from Forbes (1227 on the list of billionaires). I knew he had a lot of money but didn't realize it reached that level. Would he be the wealthiest SLU alum? He needs to become the Chaifetz for SLU soccer and update the soccer stadium, not just the field.
  11. How much does George RR Martin influence these scripts? All of the things that Game of Thrones became known for, the unexpected deaths and killing of main characters were all from his books. Since the show passed the books, it seems we haven't had much of that aspect of it. I think that could be part of it with this battle too for not killing off more of the main characters when perhaps he would have taken a different approach. Now we might not ever be able to know because he could be influenced by the show.
  12. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. Thanks for the threads throughout the year! Enjoy reading them.
  13. Maybe I am not reading it correctly but why is VCU a -2 variance? Shouldn't VCU and Dayton both have finished better than expected?
  14. If you look at his twitter, he is pretty active with SLU stuff. He even liked the tweet from the recent SLU women's commit from Wisconsin.
  15. From this form, we had the "Welcome to SLU" threads started for Foreman on May 2, 2016 Santos on April 21, 2017 Anthony on May 17, 2017
  16. Plus Kansas State getting upset by a 13 seed. Rather that be the most recent memory for him to see compared to last year when they made a run to the elite 8 as a 9 seed. Kind of like Duke winning the tournament and Coach K visiting Tatum with the championship trophy the week after.
  17. I generally don't read GDT because they can be very extreme and I have season tickets so don't check it at the games but when I do on away games, Moy always seems to be passionate, good and bad. No question though he is a die hard fan.
  18. I didn't know where else to put this but saw this article this morning and thought it was interesting. SLU drew a 3.8 with the championship game on Sunday, beating out Cardinals spring training (2.1) and drew better than the final round of the Players Championship. Only the Blues had a better rating that day (4.1) which was played after the SLU game was over. Link
  19. Slu's official Facebook page has the video. At the 7 minute mark.
  20. Watched bit of live stream and sounded like an anonymous donor is sending 14 slunatics there?
