SLU has said before that if they have a game where they know they'll have a huge crowd (Mizzou, Illinois, Duke etc) they would consider going back to Scottrade for it. You might not care how many tickets are sold...... but when you are talking an extra 10,000 capacity, you can believe the athletic department does.

I'm thinking SLU v Illinois @ Scottrade

I believe CBS college sports is showing all of the A-10 games except for the first round and final. They are not listed with the teams yet, just "A-10 Quarterfinal game 1 etc".
-
Worth noting - Erik Kuselias (who I usually disagree with on most things) agreed with Jay's assessment.

I sit on the band/student side of the 'Fetz and that IS what a lot of the students were doing. Keep in mind there have been a lot of new faces in the student section over the last few games and they might not know how the regulars do things. During games earlier this year when it was only the die-hard students coming, it was absolutely a "Push-It" chant. During the broadcast you'd probably have trouble telling the difference. I honestly don't think any real sports network would refuse to cover a good game due to a student section's reputation. It hasn't kept West Virginia off of ESPN. If anything they'd simple turn down the heat on the mics that pick up ambient crowd noise. Of course if the A-10 had refs that got things right the student wouldn't have a reason to say that.

GDT: Saint Louis @ Massachusetts

Dude, its the in-house feed that they show on the scoreboard, that's gonna happen. Think of how opposing fans feel when they have to watch the Southwest bank guy dancing on our feed. -

Bills getting cocky on offense. Lead down to 6. -

A poster on the UMASS board says they are without two of their best defenders, Gibbs and Farrell. -
I'd add Charlotte to that as well as I've seen a few different places list them as OUT after yesterday's loss at home.

Search for 101 ESPN and you should find it. The app simply pulls the streaming feed from online over your 3G/WiFi. You cannot record and it does not play in the background.

Imagine a very muscular rooster with RMs face.

-Baseball and Softball coaches spoke: They need better facilities. Softball coach thinks this could be a big year for them. Baseball coach still seemed overwhelmed by how good things went last year and is hopefully they can continue to improve. Baseball coach is a pretty fun guy, first introduced himself as the new soccer coach. -Compliance talk: Referenced and explained the new rules on boosters having "influence" or relationships with recruits or players. They were pretty open about the rules being a direct response, in part, to Calipari's practices. Promising associates of kids 6-mo "consultancy" jobs for say $50K in exchange for delivering a recruit etc. It was asked in jest, "WHEN Memphis has to vacate all of their wins under Calipari, will they celebrate their 2,000th win all over again?" -Rammer spoke for a few minutes, told crowd to welcome the folks jumping in the bandwagon. -PM spoke (I think the team might have been practicing just before/during the meeting): -After 8 days trapped in a hotel with RM he is sure glad they won those games. -Femi might be able to play starting with the UMASS game. Confirmed PE and JR were still considered done for the season. -Said this group of kids really buy in to what they are taught. Each guy, including PE, DY, managers etc is given opponent's plays to look for and is to yell them out when they see them coming. -Expect CS to start tomorrow but thinks the matchup should allow them to use a good amount of a 3 forward lineup as well. -There view on the Rhody game is the same as has been discussed here on the board, it comes down to SLU defense vs their good shooters. -Was asked about the team's greatest recruiting need, said help for KM and then started talking about MM. Said he's been recruiting MM for a long time just like KM. -The reason KM came out for a bit in OT against Dayton was that he was cramping up and exhausted. That's about all I remember.
-
+1 I love the Urkel sign and gave it/him credit for more than one of the Dayton misses due to his "Urkel magic".

Was just watching College Basketball Final on ESPN. Andy Katz was asked which if the 6 NCAA hopefuls in the A-10 was the most dangerous. His answer: "Actually its St. Louis." Katz says all of the A-10 coaches tell him they are more afraid of us than anyone.

Earl says kicked ball.

With this particular small and poor-rebounding team, BC could be a real factor on the offensive end.
-
I don't really like to say it, but that sounds right to me. Though I could see us taking Dayton at home and choking at UMass.

People said that slow-paced play would Richmond's downfall when they played Mizzou earlier this year. We all saw how that turned out. If you have a pace or style of play that suits your team you can win, so long as you impose that pace on the other team. Casual b-ball fans love to assume that slow-paced defensive-minded teams are bad just because they are "not as fun to watch". They saw the same things in football, baseball etc etc etc. However, this premise has been proven to be flawed again and again and again. It is not about your style, its is about how well you execute.

St. Joe's v St. Bonnie game has been rescheduled for Sunday. Maybe the same will happen to the SLU game.

As recently as December I heard RM say "Porter is really a co-coach.". He really seems to make a distinction between what Porter is an a regular assistant coach.

I believe the CS finished the game with 8 fouls. I also believe at one point #44 pulled a knife on KM for which KM was giving a technical. As bad an officiated game as I've seen. However I agree that it is at least the THIRD time this year OUR scorer's table has screwed up. -
Others schools I have seen suggested as Big East targets (either as a replacement for Pitt or as whole new group of members who would replace the basketball schools): ECU Marshall UCF Florida Atlantic And even Southern Miss TCU Houston There seem to be a lot of Big East football fans and pundits who insist that the league has to get up to 12 football playing members and have a championship game to compete with the other BCS conferences. That doesn't mean it is going to happen, but if the league ever decides to go all-in on football.....I'd say the bball only schools become the redheaded stepchildren.
-
I think you could easily make a case that this team could go 7-3 or 2-8 from here on out and not sound crazy. There is just no way to know which team will show up each night. What worries me is that is seems like Richmond was scoring on us using the same kind of attack that GW used during their comeback on Wednesday. I hope the A-10 is not figuring out the "book" on how to beat this defense. That being said, I think it's pretty clear that the defense, while worse than usual, was not the real problem yesterday.

I don't see how Pitt jumping in any way decreases the odds of a "Papal conference". As is, the basketball only schools in the Big East will never leave on their own, they would stupid to in fact. Even with the addition of a Temple or a Memphis, there is still the possibility that the football schools in the Big East will be tired of sharing some of their football revenues with the nons and send them packing.
