Yes, and by 14-15 Carter would have been the only guard on the team. I know everyone wants a difference making big as that is the team's most immediate need. But the day will come that they will need new guards too.

RM wants to support college ball locally. And he's going to schedule a RPI 300 or D2 opponent around exam week. We should be used to the idea by now.

Mtn west - CUSA merger, if it still happens, will drag the Mtn west down. Too many weak members to claim to be a premiere conference. And if ND, UL, and UC leave the Big East. The A10 will have a legit arguement for being just as good as what's left.

RM has said Conklin would be a good coach. Not a bad thought IMHO.

Don't know if you've noticed but the african american kids that are on the team now weren't exactly raised on farms.

UL commit apparently saying the school will be in Big12 by the time he gets there. A Rutgers football recruit has been saying the same thing about that school and the Big10.

That clip of Brian could be such a powerful recruiting tool. Especially for selling Majerus to recruits' parents.

We will have reached the pinnacle of becoming a successful program, a brand, when/if we make the tournament post-Majerus. Better yet, post-Majerus's last recruiting class.

Other notes: Said Izzo wants to call him after the tournament to talk about some things. New Mexico game next year will probably be on New Years Eve, they are trying to get it on national tv. He is going to talk to the MVC about scheduling Creighton for the next year or two. He is willing to go there. Tony Young has applied for the SIUC job. Doesn't know if he'll get an interview. He hopes he doesn't lose Harriman, says he probably knows the whole system the best of the assistant coaches. Is going to meet with Ellis's dad before he heads back to Austrailia to discuss Ellis's offseason program. Barnett was a great 10th man. He needs to decide if he's going to put in the work to become a 6th, 7th, 8th man. Mentioned his off season improvement along with that of Ellis, Loe, Remuken as x factors for next year. Will be traveling to Iowa and Wisconsin to look at recruits and Illinios to visit with Carter. When asked if he would stay at SLU for the next 3-5 years he said he wanted to. Had no interest in coaching elsewhere. He does still want to do TV after he's done coaching. However said SLU has NOT approached him about an extension yet.

I saw a link to 4-year rolling average APR scores as of 2010-2011 just last week and of course now I can't find it. At the time I looked at the A10 and SLU was only maybe 5 points away from "passing" the standard. So I would hope we would move back into the safe zone this year. The only A10 team that looked to be in real trouble was St Bonnie who had a score closer to UConn than passing.

I think it would only be fitting if we make sure to get Norfolk St on the home schedule next year.

Apparently the NBA has identified two groups that could buy the Hornets. The preferred group that currently has exclusive negotiating rights is based in California and intends to keep the team in NOLA. I suppose the good doctor might be the second group. Also David Stern has at least publicly come out against any franchises relocating right now.

I'd been wondering about that. It seems like Stillman could use all the help he can get. You'd think Burwell would be all over that possibility.

Glad you had that experience. My childhood features much more street hockey, pickup football etc. Brett Hull was in his prime then so maybe that is why. I'm sure the lack of pro ball (even though I dislike the pro style game) in town also hurts.
