  1. I'll be watching online (hopefully)....Can't wait for an exciting game and back on a winning streak! Bills win in a close one 62-60 !! And will someone at the game make a point to punch that stupid hawk in the face and make him stop flapping his wings---That thing is annoying!!!
  2. As someone who has traveled to their campus and been to their athletic facilities--it is not up to par and worse than the other schools I have been to in the league. Kinda sad really. I hope the A-10 can step in and make a change for the best interest of the league and the school.
  3. That is a great idea jimbo--...why don't we put those little exploding ink things on the shirts and after the game, people can go and get them removed as a kiosk--if they leave early, they get ink in their face. I mean really---if a poor college kid wants to go to the game for a free shirt and then leave--fine, I don't care...Maybe they'll see if you participate at the game, you do have fun--who knows? I think winning does solve it, there is no short-term solution.
  4. I may be looking in the wrong place, but where are his comments--I haven't gotten a chance to read them yet and am wondering if they've already been deleted...
  5. I will say I have questioned the play of these two players this year and their lack of production (in numbers) when really needed---but I have to say Tommie's defense was excellent, especially these last few conference games. You can't say enough about a guy who goes out there, wants to dribble and create his shot like he was allowed to do the first 2 years, but now has to play more team ball and defend. He has really stepped up this year and become a vital part of this team winning the way it has. KL has really come on as of late and I am very happy for him. His toughness and hard minutes on the floor have finally paid off in numbers these last two games and the buzzer-beater shot the other night IMO was a exclamation mark on a great career at SLU. I don't know how much injury affected him, but no signs of problems as of late. Thank you to the seniors for their difficult 4 years. I would say the transition from BS to RM was difficult to say the least for these two and I am glad we had them on our team. I wish them the best these next 6 games and hopefully a run in the A-10 tourney.
  6. Good point---thanks for the stats...I still predict a win by X or YouDee, but I would be very happy to see a third get in--maybe a rolling billiken squad...I don't think it would happen, but i can wish--think, our last 4 games at least are winnable, and with a young team, that could mean a lot going into a must win tourney. Maybe, just maybe it could happen...But, then again, maybe pigs will fly---
  7. Agree with roy, no chance for post-season unless we go all Miracle on the Court in atlantic city and win. I see a possible 6-2 finish, but likely a 5-3 end with maybe one win in the tourney-depending on our seeding. If the seeding is bad, I have to unfortunately see us losing there too. Hate to be so pessimistic, but i guess i have to be realistic. Not enought left on the schedule to boost the RPI enough to get in somewhere---not with what the rest of basketball nation is doing...
  8. I agree with everyone---with the Big East this year and the usual ACC and all of the others--looks like the A-10 should take their two and deal with it. This of course barring any freak upset in the A-10 tourney, which I do not see at this current time.
  9. As a person who hung out and traveled with a lot of student athletes, I don't quite agree with this statement. Do I wish more student athletes attended--yes, but I understand them not going. With early workouts, then class, then practice--there's not a lot of extra time for studying, homework, rest time...Those who care, will go--when I was there, I would go to games, but I was in the minority. How many basketball players go to baseball and softball games? Nonetheless, I can't say much seem as how I haven't been to a game in person yet, so my comments can't really be taken seriously--but from watching online and on TV I am a little frustrated by the lack of support by the student body--especially with an on campus arena. I remember the most frustrating part of keihl/ice dome--whatever the name---was the stupid busses we had to take, but we still went...If the school isn't promoting student attendance--then what was the point of building.
  10. I have to agree in regards to the rebounding--the numbers were very close, but the feel I got was that we were getting pushed around under the defensive basket. I thought our transition defense needed a little work--UD was FAST and efficient and really made our guys look sluggish and lazy--but i don't think it was that way. I was really pround of our guys at a difficult UD arena. They really played well, especially with a young team coming off two difficult losses. KM, what more can I say that hasn't been said already--great work. I won't mention seniors--frustrating. I was really waiting to see the training staff spraying the guys hands with tape adhesive during timeouts so they would stop with the turnovers..."Take care of the ball please" was a phrase I found myself saying last night. Overall, a good game, better than I predicted--and On to Fordham we go, where I think a "W" is a must with our young guys--they need a little boost--they have to be a little frustrated with the upperclassmen play as of late
  11. I am going to go out on a limb and say Bills by 3 tonight. I know it's on the road against a talented Temple team, but I think/hope that our seniors show up tonight and prvide some leadership on the floor, especially defensively. Temple will probably run a very fast-paced game and we will have to rely on defense to control the pace and slow it down to keep the scoring low--give us a better chance...I will be watching the game at work--hopefully it will be worth while!!! GO BILLS!!!
  12. I respect your opinion and agree with some of the points you bring up--but when you are d pushed around like our big men were last night under the defensive rim--imo, it's an effort thing. I completely agree with you on the Sodie bunch--that was more my era and involvement with the team, but just last night for me was effort...sorry.
  13. thanks for the info--being a sporatic poster on the board, I am new to stotting these idiots. Why someone would dog on Kevin is beyond me...I mentioned the lack of effort in last night's game against X, but he always puts in hard minutes and does what he can for the TEAM--and that is all I ask of our players--play hard when you're out there. Kevin is a great team player and I am glad to have him on the team.
  14. His reputation should speak for itself, but I guess i'll chime in. NO, the game has not passed him by--it's all about style. His style is different than BS and the upperclassman have to get used to that---it's not like a light switch, you can't just flip the switch and say "okay, here's the new plan-execute and win" ...It doesn't work that way unfortunately and we just have to be patient and let rickma get his guys in and develop the underclassman a little more things will improve. I agree with tarheel--give him a couple more years to work his magic and the program will be better off for it. Example---look at Michigan football. Not bad in 2007, but terrible this past year with Rodriguez---new system, young players=takes time (which is fine with me, I hate Michigan being an Ohio native--GO BUCKEYES) Give coach time and stop freaking out--too early!!! If the players would play with a little more effort; say against Xavier--would've been a more respectable game (i gave my synopsis on another thread--i think it was the NBA scout thread). These boys will win some games this year---we will beat those idiots from Dayton at home--i can feel it!
  15. From watching the painful game last night--the NBA scouts were hopefully focused on X because if they were watching SLU they didn't see anything worth their time! This may just be a rant, but I very very dissappointed by the lack of effort around the rim on the defensive side of the court. I will admit, this is the first game I've actually been able to watch on TV, but from looking at the stats from other games and just the feel from watching--they didn't want it...From other games I've been to and watched-especially against ranked teams, there was more effort to rebound, box out, whatever you want to call it...I am used to seeing this team step up against the "big" opponents, and not let someone jump over your back and tip in the ball or push you out of the way to get an offensive rebound. Granted, Xavier was a very good team--and they still may have won the game nonetheless; but I would have liked more intensity, more fire, more effort to box out and at least fight--and I didn't see it. Maybe I missed it! I guess just let this be a lesson for the team and I look forward to beating UMASS next week!! GO BILLS!!
  16. and thank the inventer of the thong under those tight a@# pants
  17. I don't post very much-I usually just sit back and read, but this deserves a response. I personally think this SIU dude has way too much free time and may want to stand up from his computer desk and get a job or any other hobby other than bashing someone's parents. I will just consider the source and I thank Mrs. T for bringing this idiot into the public eye where he should have had the coconuts to post in the first place...And to you other SIU peoples who laugh and agree with what this guy did, then please do yourself a favor and keep it to yourself--us real fans and SLU grads who know how to respect one another don't have time for you. Thank you!
  18. 72-61....I won't be able to see the game, but thought I would throw in my prediction too!! GO BILLS!
  19. I haven't seen a lot of the team play this year--they're not on TV a lot in Arkansas, but I have wathced a lot on the past and I must say that Luke is a good, solid player that reminds me a lot of a better shooting Chris Sloan-who I thought while watching him play was a fair player, but did the right things on the court to help the TEAM win. He hustled, played good defense, and could occasionally--and I'm being nice, could knock down a shot. Luke is a much better shooter than CS, but definitely is a solid player that has the drive to get better and contribute on a regular basis. I think it is hard for a coach like RM not to like a guy that goes out and is willing to battle the way Luke does. I have watched Luke up close and personal while I was at SLU and in practices-on and off season- and I saw the reason he deserves and I think has earned the role he has on the team. A quick comment on the Borgia subject, I'm not up to dat with all the high school stuff, but from the stats and reports I have seen, it seems as though there is some definite talent coming out of there that would be able to hold their own at a DIV I institution--maybe not a Duke or UNC, but a SLU would be nice.
