Many years ago when i had some direct knowledge the top d-1 refs were paid about $1000 per game counting travel and game tickets. that was about 20 years ago. dont know what they get now. Calling a basketball game is tough and everyone thinks the refs are awful, but it is the same all over

I think a controlled scrimmage practice situation is much different than a game. a competent physician should be able to write a report discussing the differences and why a player could practice and not play in a game without the controls a scrimmage would allow.imho
