  1. From Andy Katz's Daily Word: • The MAC meetings are going on in Chicago, and according to a coach in attendance, there was more talk about expanding the league to 14 teams with adding Temple (Atlantic 10 for all sports but football) and Western Kentucky (Sun Belt) as full members. Temple plays a MAC schedule in football and has added MAC nonconference games for basketball. This kind of decision would be made for football, but if they did ever join the league in hoops, it would make this league even tougher and potentially put it in position to earn multiple bids (which hasn't happened since 1999). Not a move forward for the A-10 if we lose Temple. My biggest fear is that the A-10 will be hot to replace Temple, and won't be very choosy in their replacement.
  2. Maybe if he continues to do well with the Dukes, Fordham should consider trying to steal him.
  3. That would be the same Kerry Rupp who was an assistant under Majerus at Utah correct?
  4. Well... i'm sure there is some sort of pecking order. It's just not announced publicly in the form of points. I know as a member of All For One that i get some sort of priority in getting tickets, but I have no way of knowing how many people have that opportunity before me or whether it's first come first serve. I suspect you're correct though, the high roller's have better access to tickets.
  5. Outsider's question: What do the points get you in years where you're not necessarily moving into a new arena. It seems you get priority seat placement at the new stadium, but what does increasing your points gain you next year? We don't do this at Xavier, so I don't understand the system and am curious how it works. Thanks for taking the time to respond.
  6. Well with Holman gone yesterday, and Bassett, Thomas, and Ellis joining the departure list today, Crean has quite a few spaces to recruit next year.
  7. So guess playing close to home wasn't that big of a factor after all?
  8. I'm pretty sure that's a secondary recruiting violation if true.
  9. That could be it. I read an article about this recently, but can't remember enough to apply the formula though. I think you're onto something.
  10. Yeah I thought SLU was getting partial shares for just coming into the conference, but then notice Charlotte. I have no idea. I thought maybe you guys might know. It's clearly not based on record.

  12. I'm sorry to see Bronson go and actually thought Graves would be the one to transfer. I'm also not sure where all the guards are going to get playing time. But that's why Miller makes the big bucks and i post on message boards instead. Good pick up for X and the A-10.
  13. Ford took his name out of the LSU chase. I'd be surprised if he wanted to go to Providence.
  14. I remember Martin fondly for his days at Purdue as a player. He's been an Assistant for awhile up in West Lafayette. Glad someone's going to give him an opportunity to try the first chair out. I"m sure he'll pick a staff that will increase his ties to the state of Missouri.
  15. The word around xavier fans is that Lavender will in fact play tomorrow. Honestly, nobody but Lavender and Miller will know until game time.
  16. Is anyone concerned that other coaches might use Majerus' decision not to renew scholarships against him on the recruiting trail? Just an observation from an outsider.
  17. Good point. I'll probably just wait until it's posted on the A-10 boards and then try to sync up the video as best i can with the radio feed.
  18. Will that link allow me to listen to SLU play by play? I'd like to watch the game, but without the Dayton announcers if at all possible. Good luck Billikens. Look forward to playing you guys again in the second round.
  19. Miami of Ohio played well last night. Hayes (or Haynes can't remember) did a great job. He was very quick and disrupted Lavender's game flow all night. I can't give him that much credit on stopping Burrell. Stanley does a good job of making himself ineffective with his shot selection. Miami deserved to win that one, and really no excuse for Xavier losing.
  20. Xavier lost to Miami last night, basically from poor play out of all the seniors. I'm not sure how using a PF< who likes to shoot< at Center will work out over the long haul. Sorry X couldn't hold one ip for the A-10 guys.
  21. SLU may (MAY) be less talented than last year, but as an outsider looking... they're way better coached this season. Good luck guys!
  22. Xavier seems to struggle at Millet Hall. But after seeing them play in person Saturday night, I'm confident in a Xavier Victory. I expect St. Joe's has a decent chance of beating Syracuse as well. A nice little night of College Basketball in November.
  23. Does SLU have streaming through CSTV? I believe Xavier offers this as does some of the other schools mentioned. It costs money, but I don't think it's very pricey for the whole season.
  24. Though the hype machine is in overdrive about Memphis this season, a good defense is going to give them troubles.
