  1. Good list. Fuller, Anderson, Lusk, and Sutton are the ones I ike the best from that list. Here are two more that woulld be interesting. Robert Kirby - Georgetown assistant. He was the reason Otto Porter commited to Georgetwon, current high level recruit Devanta Pollard loves him and is again the reason Georgetown is in the running if Miss State had hired him Pollard would probably have already committed there, he has been an assistant at Miss State and Georgetown so he is probably ready for a head coaching job, and being from Memphis he might want to move back closer to home. http://www.guhoyas.c...y_robert00.html Matt Zimmerman - Has spent ten years as an assistant under Mike Anderson at UAB, MU, and now Arkansas. He is probably ready for a shot as a head coach, when he was in Columbia he was well liked by everyone, after spending five years in the state he should now the area, he was a captain in the military so you know he woud bring plenty of discipline, and he would bring an interesting style of play that teams in the A10 aren't used to seeing. http://www.arkansasr...TCLID=205316958
  2. Surrprised Randy Bennett has been so loyal to St. Mary's. If this is accurate he is only making $396,317 per year. For everything he has done at that program that is really surprising. I also thought Majerus was making a million a year or close to it. After looking further I think this might be a little off for at least some of the private schools. I can't see Brey at Notre Dame only making $573,974 per year. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/mensbasketball/story/2012-03-28/ncaa-coaches-salary-database/53827374/1
  3. I'm all for the adding these schools. It would be easy to schedule with the 4 division format and we could see some strong rivalries develop. Bulter Dayton Saint Louis Xavier Charlotte George Mason Richmond VCU Duquesne George Washington La Salle Saint Joseph's Fordham UMass Rhode Island St. Bonaventure Play each team in your division home and away and every other team once for an 18 game conference schedule. Our schedule would be a lot of fun every year with home and homes agains Butler, Dayton, and X.
  4. Would love to see this happen. Indianapolis is an easy drive from St. Louis, it helps bridge the gap between us and the rest of the league, Butler looks like it is going to be a strong program for the foreseeable future, and since X and UD will always be each others biggest game maybe we can get some sort of real rivalry going with Butler. They would be a home run addition.
  5. How about this bring in Butler, Bradley, and Creighton. Go with four divisions of four. 18 game conference schedule. Play each team in your division twice and everyone else once. Bradley Butler Creighton Saint Louis Dayton Duquesne Saint Bonaventure Xavier Charlotte George Washington La Salle Richmond Fordham Rhode Island Saint Joseph's UMass
  6. Time to bring in these guys. Easy road trip and help bridge the gap between us and the rest of the conference.
  7. Here's my late night idea. Go big with a new conference so we aren't stuck with an existing TV deal and can have appeal coast to coast. This is also assumng the Big East schools aren't available. Play each team in your division home and away and each other team once for a 18 game conference season. It may seem like a lot of traveling but each team would only have 6 potentialy long distance conference road games. Six games out of 18 isn't bad. The other three conference road games would be close by against the rivals in your region. East Dayton Duquesne Saint Joseph’s Xavier Midwest Bradley Butler Creighton Saint Louis South Belmont Davidson George Washington Richmond West Gonzaga Saint Mary’s San Francisco Santa Clara For example here are two years of potential conference schedules for SLU. Bradley @Butler Creighton @Dayton Duquesne @Saint Joseph's Xavier @Belmont Davidson @George Washington Richmond @Gonzaga Saint Mary's @San Francisco Santa Clara @Bradley Butler @Creigton The Following year @Bradley Butler @Creighton Dayton @Duquesne Saint Joseph's @Xavier Belmont @Davidson George Washington @Richmond Gonzaga @Saint Mary's San Francisco @Santa Clara Bradley @Butler Creigton I think it would be a lot of fun and playing the same three teams home and away every year would help build or expand some fun rivalries. I don't think NBC Sports (formally VS.) has had much luck getting college sports on their station. Maybe they would be interested in a conference that would have people watching from multiple time zones.
  8. That was my first thought as well. Butler would be a great replacement and would help bridge the gap between us and the rest of the conference. Indy would also be an easy road trip for Billiken fans.
  9. Lets beat them all and go to 19 and while we are at it sign a better TV deal North-East Fordham La Salle UMass Rhode Island St. Bonaventure St. Joseph's Temple South-West Charlotte Dayton Duquesne George Washington Richmond Saint Louis Xavier Play your division home and away and the teams from the other division once for 19 games.
  10. Good match ups and a drive-able location in Omaha. SLU vs. former SLU assistant coach Randy Bennett and his St. Mary's team then the match up some on this board have desperately wanted vs. Mizzou. If that were to actually happen SLU would have a pretty good turn out. First NCAA appearance in 12 years, a location that is relatively easy to get to, and some interesting match ups.
  11. At 31 and 32 in the polls we should be able to move back in soon enough. We should be able to finish our last six games 6-0 and finish the non-conference part of our schedule 13-1 and ranked. @New Mexico is really our only remaining challenging non-conference game and that is mainly because it is a road game.
  12. FWIW here is what the Top 25 did this week. (using the AP Poll) 1. Kentucky - Beat St. John's and North Carolina 2. Ohio State - Beat Duke and Texas-Pan American 3. Duke - Lost to Ohio State 4. Syracuse - Beat Eastern Michigan and Florida 5. North Carolina - Beat Wisconsin, Lost to Kentucky 6. Louisville - Beat Long Beach State and Vanderbilt 7. Saint Louis - Beat Portland, Lost to Loyola Marymount 24. California - Beat McNeese State, Lost to San Diego State 25. Texas A&M - Beat Alcorn State and Stephen F. Austin
  13. Butler would be a great game to play every year. It's a game that could over time grow into a fun out of conference rivalry and St. Louis to Indianapolis is a fairly easy drive.
  14. Best part of being ranked is going to be all of the extra attention and time on ESPN. When they show the highlights from the top 25 on sportscenter the Bills will be shown no matter who our opponent is and when anyone goes to ESPN to check scores the Top 25 always pop up first. This publicity (especially if we make it last) will be great for the basketball program.
  15. Checked the schedule again this morning and they have finally added TV for some of our remaining games but several still aren't being picked up. With the year SLU is having you would think some local channel would be interested in showing these games. Upcoming games on TV Sun, Nov 27 - Oklahoma - ESPN2 Wed, Dec 07 - Vermont - Fox Sports Midwest Tue, Dec 27 - Texas Southern - Fox Sports Midwest Sat, Dec 31 - @New Mexico - The Mountain Network Wed, Jan 04 - @Dayton - KPLR Wed, Jan 11 - Temple - CBS Sports Network Sat, Jan 14 - @Charlotte - CBS Sports Regional Wed, Jan 25 - @Xavier - Fox Sports Midwest Sat, Jan 28 - @UMass - CBS Sports Regiional Sat, Feb 04 - Dayton - Fox Sports Midwest Plus Wed, Feb 08 - @Saint Joseph's - KPLR Wed, Feb 15 - Richmond - KPLR Sat, Feb 25 - @Rhode Island - CBS Sports Regional Tue, Feb 28 - Xavier - CBS Sports Network Currently not showing a TV option Tue, Nov 29 - @Loyola Marymount Sat, Dec 03 - Portland Sat, Dec 10 - Illinois-Springfield Sat, Dec 17 - Alabama State Thu, Dec 22 - Arkansas State Sat, Jan 07 - George Washington Sat, Jan 21 - Duquesne Wed, Feb 01 - St. Bonaventure Sat, Feb 11 - @La Salle Sat, Feb 18 - Fordham Sat, Mar 03 - @Duquesne I really hope some local channel has interest in showing those last 11 games. Especially the road games and conference games.
  16. Here is what the Top 25 has done so far this week. 1. North Carolina - Beat Tennessee State and South Carolina, Lost to UNLV 2. Kentucky - Beat Radford and Portland 3. Ohio State - Beat Virginia Military, North Florida, and Valparaiso 4. UConn - Beat UNC-Asheville and Florida State, Lost to Central Florida 5. Syracuse - Beat Virginia Tech and Stanford 6. Duke - Beat Tennessee, Michigan, and Kansas 7. Louisville - Beat Arkansas State and Ohio 8. Memphis - Beat Tennessee, Lost to Michigan and Georgetown 9. Florida - Beat Wright State and Jacksonville 10. Baylor - Beat South Carolina State and Texas-Arlington 11. Wisconsin - Beat UMKC, Bradley, and BYU 12. Xavier - Beat Georgia 13. Alabama - Beat Alabama A&M 14. Kansas - Beat Georgetown and UCLA, Lost to Duke 15. Michigan - Beat Memphis and UCLA, Lost to Duke 16. Pittsburgh - Beat La Salle and Pennsylvania 17. Marquette - Beat Norfolk State 18. California - Beat Georgia and Denver, Lost to Missouri 19. Gonzaga - Beat Western Michigan 20. Florida State - Beat UMass, Lost to Harvard and UConn 21. Missouri - Beat California and Notre Dame 22. Vanderbilt - Beat Oregon State and Monmouth 23. Arizona - Lost to San Diego State 24. Texas A&M - Beat Texas A&M-CC 25. Creighton - Beat Campbell I'm guessing Florida State and Arizona are going to fall out of the rankings. California might as well and Memphis probably should too but will only drop way down. Out of the current Top 25 teams Duke had the most impressive week.
  17. I think it is safe to get excited. I really like the way this team plays and hope this is a big enough win to start getting some buzz around town. It would also be nice if one of the local TV stations realizes they have a great opportunity to pick up the currently not televised games. If the Bills keep winning I think plenty of people will tune in to watch. Next up Boston College on ESPNU
  18. Latest early bracketology has us in the next four out category. Right now they are only predicting Temple and Xavier in from the A10 http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/bracketology
  19. For me this is a make or break year for Majerus. So far despite having a new 80 million dollar on campus facility he really hasn't done any better than Soderberg. I am expecting that to change this year but if we don't make the tournament I will be ready for SLU to move on to a new coach. Between Chafetz Arena and the amount we are paying RM I was expecting more than we have gotten so far. Majerus so far at SLU is 69-61 (32-32) Soderberg at SLU was 80-74 (42-38)
  20. I think $$$ will win out and MU/KU will end up playing despite any hurt feelings. It's a big game and Mizzou leaving KU and the Big 12 has only intensified the hate. The TV networks will love it.
  21. I really want us to get Butler. They would help bridge the distance between us and the rest of the conference, it's only a little over 4 hrs to drive to Indy, with X and Dayton always being each others main rival maybe we could get something going with BU, and lastly they will be a good program for a long time with Stevens there.
  22. I'm assuming more games will be on TV but with the season starting soon I see a lot of games on the schedule without a TV listing. Right now on TV we have November 20th, Washington on CBS Sports November 24th, Boston College on ESPN November 25th, Villanova/UC Riverside on ESPN December 31st, New Mexico on the Mountain Network January 11th, Temple on CBS Sports January 14th Charlotte on CBS Sports January 28th UMass on CBS Sports February 25th Rode Island on CBS Sports February 28th, Xavier on CBS Sports That's not a bad start but not counting the exhibition games that leaves 21 games that currently aren't being listed as being on TV. In this day and age with all of the TV stations out there I would hope most if not all of our games would be aired somewhere.
  23. What about Jay Spoonhour? I wonder if he would have any interest in coming back and working for and learning from Majerus. Jay Spoonhour
  24. Forget George Mason. The school the A10 should be going after to add is Butler. They provide a new market with Indianapolis and it looks like Stevens is going to be there for a while. Since Shaka Smart also seems content to stay at VCU the A0 should still try to get them as well. That would put them at 16 teams. North Fordham UMass Rhode Island St. Bonaventure Central Duquesne La Salle Temple Saint Joseph's South Charlotte George Washington Richmond VCU West Butler Dayton Saint Louis Xavier That would be a fun hoops league to watch.
