  1. Here's a look at Lawson: [http://www.highschoolelite.com/2006/lawson.html]
  2. They had their sweet 16 run with Wally Szerbiack (sp?) a couple years back and their campus is amazing.
  3. The A10 is pretty weak overall in soccer, with I believe only one team (George Washington) making it into the NCAA tournament last year by winning the A10 Tourny. Does anyone know anything about the English recruits that are listed in the prospectus. Are they highly regarded or just late pickups? This is the first I've seen of their names.
  4. I don't what kind of crediblity HoopScoop has, but this quote was on Western Illinois' site: "HoopScoop ranks Western’s 2005 recruiting class as the 54th-best in the nation, ahead of Kentucky, Missouri, Texas and Wisconsin. Western’s class is also ranked as the best in the Mid-Continent Conference, 47 spots ahead of second-place UMKC." If we are comparing, I still believe SLU's is a better class from what we know about the local recruits...but found it interesting that WIU had such a highly regarded (by someone) recruiting class coming through the door. That's if you consider 54th, highly regarded? Here's a link to the page: [http://www.wiuathletics.com/release.php?id=1846]
  5. Another nonconference game that looks to be scheduled is Northern Illinois. Not exactly monumental, but I noticed it on collegesoccernews.com under NIU's preview.
  6. A couple years back a top 10, I believe it was Tulane team came into town and SLU took 2 of 3 from them. It might have been Houston, but either way with baseball anything can happen depending on who's hitting/pitching well. Not that those wins gain any respect or national attention like a basketball upset might do.
  7. or a SLU hospital that treated his brother?
  8. That first pic is not him...but if you scroll down he was Texas Private School Player of the Year 2 years ago.
  9. Here's a link to his team's webpage: Look's good if that is who the visitor is.
  10. There is another Ivan Kovacevic from Olney Central College in Illinois. He's a 6'11, 245lb. center. http://eteamz.active.com/occblueknights/ro...rt=2&id=3253697
  11. His younger brother Shane Laurie will be a freshman next year at SMS.
  12. I grew up on that street and my parents still live there...they are extremely disappointed that Normandie Golf Course is going to get bought out. http://www.savenormandiegolfcourse.com/ My mom played for IWA back in the day when there were 6 players on the court per team and 3 players had to stay on each side of the court. Sorry I don' t have any woman's coaching rumors.
  13. Is it illegal for a former player to call on recruits? With David Neal living in the DC metro area, could Larry the Legend give him a call in his time off with the Wizards?
  14. I believe the other transfer is a DeSmet grad who played a year a UMass...I think Rooney is his name? Think I read this on bigsoccer.com
  15. I loved the 12 o'clock Saturday games...gave me a reason to drink earlier. As much crediblity as that statement gives me...my friends went to the basketball games because we had a blast at them. We never paid for a ticket (since money is an issue in college)...either we got them at the box office for free the day before or someone from the blue crew would get them for us (SShoe thanks). How do you get students to these games??? You make the games free and you get the college kids drunk. The Athletic Department needs to make the environment of these games like parties for students. Unless college kids have changed in the 3 years since I've graduated...they like to party. For the remainder of the season, why not take 2,000+ tickets for each game (that obviously won't be sold anyway) and give them away to student groups. Not only fraternities/sororities, but any of the organizations could turn those free tickets into a damn fun social event...(i.e. if I was social coordinator for one of these organizations I would take these free tickets, have a tailgate before the game around SLU's campus, rent a bus with social funds, and then have a party at The Arena Club, Al Hrabosky's or Mickey's after the game.) These students might then find these games fun and go to more of them this year and next. If the students think these games are fun and not too expensive they will go...no matter how much they will fall behind in their College Algebra class.
  16. He has also been seen shirt-less, outside of Abercrombie & Fitch as a store greeter this holiday season.
  17. rachel pierson is the iowa state bound player you are thinking of. you probably walk by my parents house when you visit as I grew up three doors from IWA.
  18. I'm assuming you meant Saturday?
  19. It says on the website that this will not be an option. They will continue on with CUSA in dynasty mode. They just want you to buy it again next year.
  20. Just got this off the wire... Barton, KS- David Peplinski's participation for Barton County Community College soccer team's summer season made him inelgible by NCAA standards to continue his soccer career at Saint Louis University. Peplinski did however have an impressive 4 goals and 3 assists during the summer, second only to BCCC's star forward Ricky Clemons. Clemons, who despite taking classes at three other schools and starring on the basketball team, led the team with 10 goals and was named "most likely to be president" by his teammates.
