  1. ...of the 1992 Preseason NIT?
  2. >Can't argue with your system, 3 star. But can't feely >sympathy for UB having to coach under pressure. Biggest part >of a D1 HC's job is recruiting talent. If he gives a free >ride to a bunch of 2 stars year in and year out, he's gonna >feel the heat. By the way, under your system would our >returnees and incomings be rated as follows: > >1 star-Husak, AD, walkons > >2 star-LM, DB, IV, DC, JJ, VN > >3 star-DP, KL, TL > >4 star-none > >5 star-none Drejaj is a two-star player, not a one-star. Danny Brown and Justin Johnson are three-star recruits. Tommie Liddell is a four-star recruit.
  3. I'm guessing Lisch will be unable to play in the all-star game late in June.
  4. As far as I'm concerned, the countdown is already down to zero. The Billikens are in the A-10 now, and I care more about the A-10's postseason than C-USA's.
  5. I'm sure that BLaw would counter that Travis Diener was out and that the outcome of the game surely would have been different had he been playing.
  6. >Up here in the great Mid-Atlantic, we don't even get the >Bills game on ESPN II. Sure, I get Marquette and TCU at >noon followed by DePaul and Tulane at 3:00 but the switch >over occurs at 7:00 when we here in Baltimore get the big >Wagner/Fairleigh Dickinson NEC final on the Duece! That's because the evening session games are NOT scheduled to be on ESPN2; rather, they're scheduled to be on ESPN+.
  7. Dwayne Polk, at 2.3 reb per game, is far from one of the team leaders in rebounding -- not that we want or need him to be grabbing lots of boards. With 9 blocks this season, Dwayne is second (behind Ian Vouyoukas, who has just 19). Dwayne's performance at Marquette Saturday was his best of the season. His IQ for that game was 54.
  8. ...Conference USA wasn't considered a new conference by the NCAA. Enough members of the Metro were remaining together for the "new" conference to use that bid. Either that, or the big that the Great Midwest would finally get came to fruition because that conference had enough members remaining together.
  9. Yes, a new coference would lack an automatic bid for five years. However, as the Great Midwest demonstrated, if there are enough good teams in the conference, it will garner multiple at-large bids.
  10. If I'm not mistaken, Lorenzo Gordon was one year behind Joel Shelton and one year ahead of Jimmy McKinney. McKinney is now a collegiate junior, and so, apparently, is Gordon.
  11. ...the Great Midwest never got an automatic bid until AFTER it merged with the Metro to form C-USA.
  12. Nope, KFNS didn't have it. I mostly doubted it, and that's why I said, "might."
  13. I recorded the radio broadcast (because I had things to do this afternoon) and am listening to it now, so when I reach the end, if the KFNS feed has the foray you're referring to, I'll quote it.
  14. You're calling someone stupid because you failed to recognize his sarcasm, and you call me a jerk because I think your calling him stupid while misspelling "you're" is ironic. Okay. You win.
  15. GoSlu wrote, "Glad we agree your STUPID!!!!!!!!!! Maybe some progres" Pardon me, his what? And what about Rich's stupid (Rich, why didn't you tell us you had a pet)? When is an adjective a noun? It tickles me to see someone who can't spell you're call someone stupid.
  16. ...and, counting his redshirt season, next year will be JJ's fourth year attending SLU.
  17. >Roy, not satisfied but they did get to the Big Dance and >afterall that is the goal. The 1998-99 Billikens squad (the year after Hughes) did not reach postseason.
  18. ...and a miss! Strike two!
  19. Actually, SLU was seeded 7th, and Maryland was 10th.
  20. Coach Soderberg said on his show last night (or on the post game show) that the reason he didn't play Dwayne much in the second half because DePaul had started to post Drake Diener (6-4) up against him, and the decision was to counter with a taller defender.
  21. If that were the case, then what about Saint Louis's four NCAA trips during that period?
  22. Remember, while we may refer to the school as Charlotte, its official name is University of North Carolina-Charlotte. It's probably viewed the way UMSL is in the University of Missouri system. Probably the majority of folks in Charlotte went/go to UNC (-Chapel Hill) or North Carolina State. Charlotte also has to compete with Wake and Duke for interest in its sports programs.
  23. Broy, I have to agree with Cowboy. They ran a play for Reggie to get the last shot against Oral Roberts, and he was rebuffed. He did hit the winning shot against Southern Miss though.
  24. He just plays an eight-man rotation, barring injury or foul trouble. Clarke has been out as a result of back spasms, and Johnson is on the outside looking in because he doesn't practice hard consistently.
