  1. Costas has the Olympics to prepare for. I would be surprised if he would have the time to get involved with the search/interviews.
  2. KMOX actually had Woolard on before the 7:00 hour and then during the 7-8 hour had on Brad, Scott Highmark, Ramsey and had Jill on after 8:00. Overall, a very positive, upbeat show, talking all about the Billikens and the program. As far as specifics, of course Brad couldn't talk about Lisch, although Highmark did and gave him the expected praise. Brad said that all returners would be in summer school except for Ian who was going back to Greece for the summer as has been mentioned before. Individual instruction ended last Friday, as exams started this week. Brad wouldn't say anything specific about the remaining scholarships. (Grimm was unaware that the 5/8 rule had been abolished.) He talked about Newborne: can defend the perimeter, hit the 3 and rebound. He also talked about Liddell and that he expects to have him sign again and what a hard worker and great kid he is. As was mentioned, Brad talked again about expectations and why can't the Billikens be the team that wins.
  3. http://www.sportsline.com/collegebasketball/story/7293705 D-1 schools no longer can play "non-collegiate" teams in exhibition games.
  4. Has Grimes qualified? I thought that someone on this Board posted that as of the beginning of April he had not qualified but was still taking the test.
  5. I guess Huggins isn't the only one. See this story. http://cbs.sportsline.com/collegebasketball/story/7266456
  6. Just a couple other points that Brad made. He expects the 5/8 rule to be abolished by a vote on April 30, but he does not know when it will be effective. If effective immediately, we would have one more scholarship available. He gave no inclination about whether he would use it now, although he did say that he liked having one available over the summer. He also said that Ian would be going home for the summer to play on the Greek Junior National Team. He wants Ian to lose 15 lbs or so and they had already been in contact with the national team's trainers.
  7. Doug Elgin of the MVC was on KFNS a couple of weeks ago and said that as host of the Final Four at the ED Dome in 2005, the MVC was required to play a game there during the 2004-2005 season. Elgin said that the MVC was talking to a number of schools, but he didn't name anyone. But, I believe that's what's driving a game.
  8. This morning on a sports report, KMOX said that Ian was unavailable, but no other explanation. He was dressed.
  9. I think it was 1965 and the Bills finished 3rd in the college World Series behind Arizona State (Reggie Jackson) and Ohio State. One of the problems is the cold vs. warm weather schools. If you looked at the teams that made the NCAA playoffs last year only a handfull weren't from the South, Southwest or California. My recollection is that E. Carolina, S. Florida, TCU and Tulane all went from C-USA.
  10. For whatever reason, Marquette "declined" to send a coach to the pregame Billiken Club get-together before the game at Savvis.
  11. 1)Woolard said at a Tip Off meeting last year that beer would be sold at an on-campus arena. 2)State and local laws come into play when talking about alcohol sales. As stated above, state schools in Missouri cannot sell alcohol, while private schools may do as they wish. In Illinois, NO college can sell alcohol anywhere on campus whether public or private.
  12. Willie was blocked out. I was closer than the ref. Somebody has to help them. Having said that, I wish that we would have had that crew for the AZ game.
  13. I think it's spelled "Siegfried" on No. 3. I'll buy one.
  14. I would prefer the shirt be blue with white lettering. Better visability at games, home & away. The marketing department has a specific tint of Blue that it uses for uniforms. They have provided the description in the past.
  15. Here's the P-D story on the game which gives a few more facts on the Pulley issue: http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/st...+exhibition+win
  16. I agree with you about Gordon. He has generally been very supportive and maybe this article is the exception. However, I think that all SLU fans feel that we continually are relegated to 2nd class status by the P-D in favor of Missouri. I know I do. Take the Sports Section of Wednesday's (11/5) paper as an example: the Tiger women's soccer team, which is at .500, gets a full article as it starts Big 12 tournament play. The Billiken women's soccer team, having a great year and chance for post-season action, gets nothing as it starts C-USA tournament play. Today, there's 100 words on the game, after the fact. Thanks a bunch. Having said that, the Gordon article was horrible.
  17. Presumably the Big Ten had procedures in place and followed them. I think the question being asked is, "What are C-USA's procedures for changing the venue of a home conference game and were they followed?"
  18. STL Public School website has Irons listed as principal at Vashon. http://www.slps.org/Schools/high_2.htm
  19. Excellent description, Roy!
  20. I think the Sycamores are an Indian tribe. Does anyone remember when Ekker "benched" the Billiken and came up with the buffoonish BilliLou?
