  1. Maybe Kshoe is looking for an underwriter or co-signer.
  2. Worse than that. I believe her number was $20,000 per game.
  3. Part of the problem was that the tape of the call was made illegally. My recollection also is that no one ever found the Blazer that Thomas was supposed to have received.
  4. I thought that Iowa is to come here not next year, but in 2006-07.
  5. I assure you, that I also do not own a maroon SLU shirt or sweatshirt. Willie, wasn't that the tournament where the official NCAA T-shirt mispelled Billikens. They had it "Billikins." Mrs. Sluer still has the shirt.
  6. And remember that the tab at Balls was picked up by a SLU grad from the east coast who was on an expense account!
  7. On his show yesterday, Slaten made a big deal out of the fact that the Bills (and Missouri) were not recruiting this kid. Something like "How can they expect to get better when they ignore great talent that is close." I imagine that's why it is now popping up on the forum. So, consider the source.
  8. I agree. I had the same thought that it is exactly what we wanted. Santa Clara might perceive wanting to win as a negative, but C-Usa and the A-10 isn't the CYC league.
  9. Per the athletic office, because of the game being on ESPN Classic, game time is 7:04.
  10. I thought we did fairly well as did Iggy and the group down by him. I thought we got a few calls, but clearly not enough. But the one ref - tall brown hair - just kept sticking it to us. Other problem, which I'm sure is going to continue through the rest of the year, is that as a result of our record and leaving the conference, we are going two get the 2nd, and in Saturday's case, 3rd tier refs.
  11. The Pomeroy RPI website shows Southern Miss at 6-7 which means 3 of the wins are over non-Division I opponents. Their RPI is 220. Ours is 255.
  12. They're just trying to goad someone into calling them so they have forum to rip SLU some more.
  13. While I didn't see Cinn-Purdue, I did see Cinn-Northern Iowa last Wednesday (Nov 24). Cinn was down 18 with 12 minutes to go and managed to win in double overtime at HOME after getting the expected home calls at the end, including fouling out both N. Iowa big men. Only then did Cinn get enough inside points to win. Jihad was 6-22. He was firing as soon as he crossed the 10 second line. Obviously, they must have played a lot better against Purdue.
  14. They have a commitment from Matt Lawrence of Lafayette. I assume that he would be expected to sign next week, but don't know that for a fact.
  15. I agree. The system seems balanced, regardless of who had input. Since my spot on the points totem pole actually improved, I can't complain.
  16. You're right that the lack of continuity is a result of the way things are done, i.e. the athletic office's mindset. That's what got them in trouble in the first place when they dictated the choosing of seats in the first move from Kiel to the Arena. As you say, the lack of strategic planning, which should include an "institutional memory," is obvious. I guess those that don't remember history are doomed to repeat the same mistakes.
  17. I agree that there should have been some warning or communication that the system was under review. Moreover, the timing is bad. If soccer tickets now come into play, why wasn't this out by June 1 or July 1 at the latest. Basketball renewals are also completed. Having said that, it underscores one of the issues with SLU Athletics, and that is the lack of continuity. The point system was only set up after the ticket fiasco when we moved from the old Kiel to the Arena. The system was developed by a blue ribbon committee over a several months and was done with some give and take. Whether you agreed with what they did, at least you had a chance to give your 2 cents worth. Now, here we are, with changes to that system. I'm not saying they are bad or good, just was anyone aware of the pain and suffering that we went though to develop the system to begin with.
  18. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but since the point system was put in place, I thought that anyone has been able to buy points for $100 per point. This applied to both credit for previous gifts and new gifts and included Billiken Club contributions.
  19. When will the first Tip-Off club meeting be? Some time during the year we should have someone from the A-10.
  20. I agree! Never, never, never, never, never, never give up. (Winston Churchill) After all, some people left Savvis when we were down 9 pts with 45 seconds to go against Houston.
  21. Gall is defensive liability (a first baseman playing the outfield). I think you platoon So and Mabry in left. That's your best defense and good enough at the plate. Trying to find an outfielder better than those two will be far too expensive, playerwise. Rumor was that KC wanted Molina AND a top prospect for Beltran who of course can walk at the end of the year.
  22. Cusumano said on his show on KFNS this morning that the announcement would not come today because someone involved in the process was ill. He didn't name any names. However, he said that Levick's hiring was a done deal.
