I have reached billiken_roy levels of posting (7/7)

  1. From my seat neither Otieno nor Dunlap look comfortable in the offense. We know both are quality players. Give them time. I remember last season Jimerson said it was January before he was comfortable in Schertz’ scheme
  2. Sixth smallest regular season crowd at Chaifetz.
  3. Coach talked about points per possession, again, as being a key metric. He thought Lindenwood had about 80 possessions (he didn't have the stats), so 66 points means 0.825 ppp. Being under 1 is the baseline.
  4. Correct. Coach looks at Points per Possession.
  5. I believe that was his statement on P4 school scheduling. They don't want to play SLU unless we are a Q1 game, or home only. He stated on the radio he would like to play more area schools. My preference is more local or state teams, regardless of what Quad they are in.
  6. I am all for playing perhaps two of the local or state schools each season. UMKC, Missouri St, SEMO, Lindenwood, and SIUE. I consider SIUC as 'local'. I would much rather play those schools than Chicago State, New Hampshire, Principia, etc. I'm not opposed to H and H. Getting away games on the schedule prior to conference play can have advantages. I don't mind away games that are drive-able (3 to 4 hrs) without an overnight stay.
  7. Nov 11 KMOX Sports on a Sunday Morning, Coach with Tom Ackerman. (Short interview) Started the segment with the 7 point run with Earl and Rammer. Fun listen! "Everything sounds better with Rammer and Earl." Coach likes 'Instant Sharma'. "Smaller lineup" did the trick. Dion at 6'3" was smallest guard (so not really a small lineup). Everyone else 6'6" with a lot of versatility. D pressure allowed us to hit the gas offensively. Started 2 bigs, Paul and Robbie, and it didn't work well. But he still will use the two big lineup. Practice yesterday was primarily film. The 86 points Chicago State scored only matters in terms of possessions. Points per possession is what matters to him. Looks for being below 1.0 on D. Was below 1.0 until the last 7 1/2 minutes. Played the scoreboard to dictate your energy and focus. Why hunt when I can take shots and increase my scoring average. "That's not going to fly." Human nature is what we will have to fight the entire year. Lindenwood. Played at Texas Tech and Health Sciences, two games at the complete different ends of the spectrum. Two leading scorers from last year didn't play at Texas Tech. They will be back tomorrow. Good size, lot's of STL kids. This is something we want to do for the area. Not every year, but consistently wants to play local teams....including SEMO.
  8. It’s there on Varsity. Search under Saint Louis Billikens. ‘On Demand’. The fun starts at about 1 hr 54. Earl gives you ‘Who let the dogs out’. Coach postgame at 2 hr 58. Yes he was pissed. Named several players whom he was not pleased with.
  9. Third smallest regular season crowd at Chaifetz. I will assume Lindenwood will have a few hundred fans to top this number, but the Principia game may set a new low record; SIUE 2016-17 season, 2986 reported attendance.
  10. With Sharma's start, that will give each of the main 9 rotation players a start.
  11. McCottry was 7-8 from the paint. Brown was 4-6 from the paint. Thames was 5-7 from the paint. Jones was 3-5 from the paint. That's 19-26 or 73%. I'll take that every single game. You would need 49% from the arc to match that. Keep driving guys.
  12. My single highest unexpected positive take-away last night was Dunlap's rebounding. He came in with a career 1.7 rpg. He had 6 last night.
