  1. Several analysts and sportswriter seem to think that the best candidate to stop our streak is VCU. But GM and GW on the road will also be tough as we now have a big target on our back in the A-10. They're certainly already in, but the seeding will be the question based on final ranking and RPI.
  2. Need to change password?

  3. I"m curious, does this include the game last nite? I can never tell when these rankings are updated.
  4. Five remaining home games, to include Dayton & X, and four on the road. Going into todays game, our RPI was 42. I believe that we need, as a minimum a 6-3 for the remaining schedule to qualify for an at large berth. We can take 4 at home, but can we get 2 wins on the road? Not with a performance like today.
  5. Thanks for the heads-up, I usually find out about the TV channel the day after the game.
  6. I'm in total agreement. Like many on the board, I've watched some pretty lackluster efforts during Rich Grawer's era and before. But this one had to be right up there with them. If we don't get our two suspenders reinstated, we'll be sucking air in the A-10. I have little hope after what I witnessed today. Remeken was nearly comatose on the court, and why he's positioned at the midcourt line to get trapped and lose the ball is beyond me. Let's see what happens when court convenes next week.
  7. That comes next semester together with learning to read the shot clock numbers, especially the final 10 seconds.
  8. Anyone that could use two tickets for tomorrow nite's Rockhurst game, let me know and I'll make contact to determine a transfer location (Section 109). No charge.
  9. Someone familiar with the SLU decision to suspend give me an idea where and who made this decision? Was this "sentence" given the University or by a student board empowered to take care of discipline issues within the student body? I've heard several different opinions about this by not being familiar with the process, I have no idea and is it possible to appeal or reverse the suspension to a higher authority?
  10. I understand what you're saying about Eckerle, but with RM's unknown plans for use of players, I'm not going to bet he'll get a lot of PT. Their new recruits and the development of some of the currnet players may move him down the ladder. I enjoy watching Eckerle and believe he always gives 110%, but we're a different team than 2 years ago. Hopefully, he'll be 3 or 4 off the bench as he does give the team a spark.
  11. I've been monitoring this on ESPN gamecast since I'm out of town, and that last 1:10 seemed like an hour. How about our 70+% free throws and 50% on the 3's. We've matured beyond my wildest dreams and the Aussie duo has given us a hugh lift. Great season, I'm really looking forward to the tourney, but unless we win it and with Temple, that's challenging. I'm betting on NIT but haven't given up on the big dance.
  12. RM PR skills and public presence rank right up there with Mark McGuire. Post-game interviews sound like a dull homily. I know he's a good coach, so I wish he'd start showing it rather than all the other crap that he's been concerned with.
  13. I probably missed it in an earlier post, but what was the discipline problem that kept Willie on the bench yesterday? I saw him during the warmup in street clothes taking some shots from outside with the team. It looked weird. It appeared that he was cheering his teammates from the bench and high fiving as they came off at each time out. I was impressed that Cody was that good after basically only 3 practices with the team. I hope we have him for 3.5 years.
  14. You better call the TV repair man or see your opthomologist immediately. Something is definitely affecting your picture or your vision.
  15. HooRah!!! I'd be glad to go to campus and give him a personal greeting, but that would probably have the NCAA disqualify him. I'm very anxious to see him on the court. I know there's a sentiment to red shirt, and that may be the best course of action. But I think if he's half the player we expect, he can help us greatly in conference play.
  16. Can you speculate if someone at SLU and/or the NCAA know if the eligibility decision has been made?
  17. A question from a guy who's been out of the loop for a few of months, having just returned recently to see the Nebraska game. I've not been following this saga, but after hearing more about it at the game and rejoining the message board, I heard that there were NCAA issues, but didn't know that had been resolved. Also, will he have a full 4 years of eligibility? Has it been confirmed that Cody Ellis is eligible to play for us next semester? Thanks for the update.
  18. Amen. He is one obnoxious individual that tries to scoop a story without verifying the credibility of the source. I really don't understand how Bernie and Randy take what he says at face value w/o questioning his source. He comes off OK with hockey reports for the most part, but with regard to reporting other STL sports, he pretty much shoots from the hip.
  19. Congratulations, Steve. Well deserved and who knows, someday Princeton will be as highly regarded as many of the schools in the midwest for it's academics. Good luck.
  20. Here's a scenario that could conceivably take place. Uncle Brad will go to the U chosen by Kramer (athletic sholarship) as the assistant or, who knows, head coach. Since he brought these 4 on board for SLU, it seems reasonable that he would work to bring them back under his guidance again. I'm betting that these players will be getting a better deal in their new college career than they would have for their remaining years at SLU. After Fr. Larry paid a cool mil for RM and didn't blink when his AD decided to depart, you have to believe that RM has pretty free reign to get the program to the next (tournament)level in a reasonable time period. Who knows what that is except RM and Biondi. These 4 are good kids and they'll recover, probably without loosing a year of their life. Chances are, after they overcome the initial trauma, they'll be grateful for the opportunity to the the acquired splinters out of their butt. As for Strickland, he's a media ***** and no one who has had any dealing with him would NEVER tell him anything in confidence. He has his own agenda and that's getting the scoop of the day, that's how he's survived this long. Otherwise he's outa here. The time of the release of this information may be poor, I agree, but I seriously doubt if it will have much impact on the outcome of the Dayton game. By the way, my post is my birth given name. j is for jim, so I'm not going anonymous on this board.
  21. Thanks for the fix, safe travels.
  22. I've seen some poor reffing in many of the conferences, and realize that these guys are human and make mistakes. But the A-10 referees seem to be at the very bottom of the heap in terms of lack of consistency of their calls, for example, blocking and charging calls. I feel reasonably confident that I could do better with the charging vs blocking calls than what I've seen in the A-10, and not just our road games but at Savvis as well. Perhaps we haven't lost a game as a result of this "borderline competence" in the officiating (I'm being kind), but I'd really like to see more consistency, even if it's not according to the book, at least the players would know what to expect. There seems to be no standards which they follow.
  23. A couple of things, TL is having more success aggressively driving to the basket now and I think he's giving the outside to Kevin and Paul. And his increased intensity on defense probably has had some effect. I don't imagine RM is having any heartburn with him giving up the 3's and becoming more agressive in going inside. Also, is Kevin on the point next year or is one of the recruits going to be there?
  24. I just went to Fox Sports and they indicated that he'd been suspended for at least the rest of the season, supposedly awaiting the results of the inhouse investigation. Think maybe that Bob Knights somewhere smiling tonite during his "sabbatical" that he's calling retirement?
