S T L B I L L I K E N S
How many students are expected to be at the game? Sure would help a lot of we could pack them in.
SShoe
1,000 student tickets were allotted and they sold out within two hours. I assume that doesn't count the Blue Crew, who have 300+ members.
Also Receiving Votes
We will have over 6,000 students there at the game. That's probably more than the 2004 Marquette game, in which many of those students were wearing Gold.
billikenfan05
How many will be there to see UNC though? Also Receiving Votes
None of them, and I will make sure of that.
billiken_roy
i was told that certain greedy students were gathering id's or getting students that had no intention of going to go claim tix in order to get the tix and then sell to non-students. so i doubt that the seats will reflect 1,000 true slu students. Westy03
Its not depressing, its SLU. Sad to say but most of the students could care less about the basketball team
bluecrewfinance
I can't say I really do blame the underclassmen for not staying for the game; the out-of-towners don't have anywhere to sleep. I think that only the Village and one of the Marchetti's, and Grand Forest, are open over break. I do, however, have four freshmen crashing in my apartment on Lindell, all intent on wearing Billiken blue tomorrow night.
Westy03
I would have to disagree. Just think how many commuters go to SLU that are from st. louis or are within an hour or two away. I mean there are nights when we have 30 students at games.
bluecrewfinance
I understand that there is a large commuter population, but for those kids who aren't from around here (ie, ME), living on-campus does not allow you to attend the games, unless you're good enough buddies with upper classmen to crash at their place. When I was a little froshy, I wouldn't have known anybody who would take me in. I agree that the best-case scenario is for everybody within an hour or two to make the drive, but there's a pretty significant portion of the SLU population for whom that is infeasible. Westy03
I understand, I went to slu so I know what you are talking about. Im not saying every student should go, but I will be very dissapointed to see less then 700 students there.
davidnark
I believe that there are very few commuters left at SLU. I recall seeing a statistic that over 95% (or somothing similar) of freshmen live on campus and most upperclassmen live on or near campus. Also, I believe that the majority of SLU students are no longer from the 100-miled radius around SLU.
S T L B I L L I K E N S
So anywhere from 700 to 6,000. We shall see.
Also Receiving Votes
I would love to get all the alums who want to sit in the student section to do so as well; hell, no one checks tickets down there anyway. GET LOUD!

Also, I believe that the majority >of SLU students are no longer from the 100-miled radius >around SLU. What do they technically consider a commuter? Are the students who live near campus in some of the nearby Lindell apartments commuters since they don't technically live on campus? Or is it only students who live at home? Either way, around 50% of SLU students are from St. Louis. It's not that difficult to get to a game of this magnitude.
slufanskip
If 1000 tickets were given out ... I'd be disapointed to see less than 1000 students. courtside
Commuters would not be Lindell apt people. Commuters commute from home which is not on or near campus.
