  1. Temple already jumped Big East football ship, thank God. Somebody tell Bill Cosby they aren't good. Maybe Dr. Huxtable can be a consultant.
  2. Game was being aired on CCIN channel 3 in St. Louis. Game was played @ Carver Arena. MSU won after almost giving back the game.
  3. Can we repeat what we did to the Muskies last year? I think our success against them, much like everything we do, went under the National radar. I'd rather see us sweep YouDee this year, but I'll take a X Sweep any day of the week.
  4. Totally agree with you, BB. I know that a lot of people used to snicker when the old man got on the horn and started praying, but it is a classy touch for a game that is losing a lot of it.
  5. Fr. Eugene was at the Ole Miss game and was looking very frail. I don't know if he has the power to get up there and let one fly. I mean, even at Notre Dame, they don't pray before kick-off. Maybe we should put in a grotto or something by the Arena. Get yer prayers in before the game. I hate that we're becoming more and more secular.
  6. Southern is in Louisiana and plays Grambling every year in the Bayou Classic in New Orleans. They usually sell the Superdome out every year for the game, which is very impressive for HBCU's.
  7. I'd rather go to BC or GeeTown and have them open it up. Muck Fizzou.
  8. It was in the Lisch-family sponsored Belleville paper. Czech it out.
  9. What would the likelihood of an A-10/PAC-10 shootout be? We have an ACC-Big 10 Shootout, so why not this one? I'd love to see Romar come back here and get embarrassed.
  10. Just think if some of our richer alums would have up-ed the antie and didn't have Woolard, who was a huge penny pincher. We might be a top-25 team now. Oh well.
  11. Right, but since we're done with UNC and Ole Miss, will we look to start a home-and-home with an ACC/SEC team? I'd really like to see us get 'Bama and Wake on the schedule. Perhaps Boston College. I'd love to see us play the Eagles.
  12. Anyone know who we are playing in our NC slate next year?
  13. Boy, I tell ya...when the breaks are beating the boys, you really want to get fired up with the following quote: ***************************************************************** "I told the guys at halftime that they were soft," Soderberg said. "I thought they came out and played the game like they were playing in the YMCA men's league. That was the noon game, and they had another game at 6 o'clock, so let's go out and hoop it up." ***************************************************************** Wow, expect that quote to be put on a plaque and installed in the new locker rooms in the new arena. Kids all over the country will be listening to this speech on their phonograph players, and a movie is in the works. Wow. If it works, it works. But this might be one of the worst halftime speeches ever recorded. Probably beats my Dad's halftime speech when our Father Sweeney Cougars were down by 25 to St. Vincent DePaul --- "you guys are playing like a bunch of *******." We ended up losing by 30. Good stuff. Go Irish
  14. Ahhhhhh...what are they going to do? Shut down my blog? Too bad I own the hosting rights, oh, and I give money to SLU. That's another reason. You know you don't have to read all my posts, skip.
  15. Luke Meyer is having an All-American (third team at best) year for the Billikens. He is, by far, one of the best players in recent memories. I am really impressed with his play so far this year. Screw Johnson or Husak, Meyer is the X factor, the MVP. Give this kid the gameball. I am thrilled to be thinking that Meyer is probably going to be given some consideration for All-Conference. He is the reason we are 10-3.
  16. I don't follow the "lead assistants for the NCAA champs, and a F4 team" thing. Some clarification might help. Thanks, Dave.
  17. I think we need to calm down and let this season play out. Someone said it best in a recent post. I agree. Let's let the players play and our coaches coach, and if we make the Dance and have a nice run, maybe we owe Brad a mea culpa. If not, we start one of our joke "Nation-wide searches" for our new head coach.
  18. Yeah, because there are about 60 NBA scouts just salivating at the chance of just catching a glimpse at the Mt. Pleasant Phenom. Whatever.
  19. You know what, I'd like to think of my insults at a 5th grade level, Billikan (sic). Coward? Don't call me a coward unless you want to tell this to me, in my face, as you say. Come on, big boy. Pack a lunch and come on and tell me what a coward I am. Please. I'm begging you. I make you sick? Our coaching staff should make you sick.
  20. DON'T YOU EVER...EVER...EVER MENTION COACH MIKE KRZYZEWSKI IN THE SAME SENTENCE WITH BRAD SODERBERG. DON'T EVEN MENTION JIM LES IN THE SAME SENTENCE. YOU KNOW WHAT THEY DON'T HAVE IN COMMON WITH SODERBERG? COACHING A TEAM INTO THE SWEET SIXTEEN OF THE NATIONAL COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION (NCAA) TOURNAMENT. YOU NEED TO BE BANNED. BRAD SODERBERG NEEDS TO RECRUIT. HE DOESN'T NEED TO PERSUADE YOU OR I OR BILLIKENROY TO BUY A CAR FROM FRIGGIN LOU FUSZ. I UNDERSTAND THE CATHOLIC CHARITIES AD HE DOES. THAT'S FINE. I DON'T NEED A NEW CAR RIGHT NOW. DON'T YOU EVER COME ON THIS BOARD AND TRY TO COMPARE SODERBERG TO ANY HEAD COACH OUT THERE, ESPECIALLY KRZYZEWSKI. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU SMOKING/SHOOTING/SNORTING?
  21. Drew, we have no recruiting philosophy. The African country of Chad has a higher per capita GDP than we have for recruiting. This is a fact that like it or not, we have to accept. However, everybody on this board seems to think that winning and recruiting go hand-in-hand, which is F-ing rediculous. Look at Bruce Weber at Illinois. The guy flat out knows how to coach and win games, but loses out on recruits. Then take a look at the guy running the Illini football team, Ron Zook...guy can't win at U of I, but lands Arrelious Benn and Martez Wilson and immediately has a top 10 recruiting class. We have Brad Soderberg. A guy who cares about you getting behind the wheel of a quality new or used Lou Fusz car. We wait for recruits to send in their tapes. We don't hit the pavement looking for that Francisco Garcia-straight-out-the-hood-baller-that-just-lost-his-brother-to-a-drive-by-shooting type player. Why not? Who the hell knows, Drew. We don't get quality players, all of you are satisfied with the product that is on the court right now, and that is sad. Adam Knollmeyer is at best, a good D-III player. Maybe suits up for Illinois Wesleyan or Augustana. The guy should be thanking God everyday that a Division 1 school offered him a scholarship. Lisch, Liddell and Voyoukas are the only D-1 caliber players on our team. Our mid-season/non-conference slate MVP is Luke Meyer, a guy who if he played at WashU, would have his number retired by now. DeeWayne Polk is a poor-man's Steve Logan, and I mean sleeps in the Keiner East Garage poor. Danny Brown has the body of a D-1 player, but not the attitude or discipline. He's a cancer on this team. Husak? Don't even get me started.
  22. He's got a ton of offers - where does SLU stand? Has anyone seen him play? What does he bring to the table? Immediate starter for SLU??
