  1. that's as cold from the floor as I've ever seen a team. How many treys did we hit? I have the under on 3. Good news: beer is still cold. Otherwise, not much else going for th Bills.
  2. Agreed. We need to slow it down. If anyone is here I'm in 204. You'll know me because I'm almost the only one and certainly the only one in a Bills sweatyshirt.
  3. I can only remember a couple of games that I went to when I wrote for the UNews that TT wasn't at.
  4. I had ACL surgery on 6/10 and will be allowed to snowboard by Thanksgiving, which will be 6.5 months after tearing both my ACL and MCL. It's not a full year injury any more...
  5. Ryan Bird went to the Jays in '07, I believe.
  6. I agree with your point about "central"...I tried to discount that in my last sentence. Sorry for lack of clarity. I'm not saying that it would ever happen, just that it could make more sense. And Cleveland is Cleveland, but a long weekend shouldn't kill you, right? RIGHT??? Besides, if we have a problem with the officiating, we could just throw the refs into the Cuyahoga.
  7. What about Chicago, Indianapolis, Detroit, or Cleveland for the tournament? It satisfies neutrality, a bigger city, easier travel, closer to the biggest fan bases. I don't want to touch off a flame war over cities, but doesn't it seem rational to want the tournament (a) in a bigger market and ( closer to the largest drawing programs? A central location is good for something like the Big 10 or Big 12 that travel well and have huge buy-in from program friends, but I don't see that as the best option here.

  9. FieldTurf is very, very, very fast. The ball moves differently, skips funny, rolls forever and is exponentially more of each of those when wet. Being used to the turf would be a big advantage, just as it can be in baseball (ie Rays and Twins). No excuses, just acknowledging that there is a difference.
  10. I'm at 36 of 54. I win two brackets for sure if KU wins by 145 or more. There's only one that I'm completely out of.
  11. Last year was Robert Randolph and the Family Band which was far closer to "Stellar" than "Lackluster". Great music and good outdoor weather. Seeing a show in the Chaifetz will definitely be pretty cool though...
  12. Wow, that's pretty much exactly what went through my head when I read that. He sure can find those TV cameras though...
  13. Skiles was canned on Christmas Eve. He's been mentioned in the Sampson successor rumors. There's an interim guy here now, a long-time assistant. He's been routinely assailed by the press, and presided over the "team suspending Jo-Noah for an extra game" fiasco, of which Ben Wallace was apparently an active participant. This guy is not likely to make it through the summer.
  14. is it really as quiet there as it sounds like on the radio broadcast?
  15. isn't the greek population only 16% or so of the total student body?
  16. any time he mispronounces a name on the other team, swig. any time he mispronounces a name on the Bills, finish your beer. any time he misses a substitution, two swigs. any time he announces a foul incorrectly, swig. any time that you believe he did something well, sit down, get some water, you've been playing this game for too long.
  17. Agreed. In reference to a gentleman who was "let go" from my place of business, my manager said "that man was dangerous with a pen." Same applies here, apparently. To just pile on, she was very smug about "giving us the business" with the TV contract; when a group of BC students approached her at the Majerus introduction last year, she put out the "I don't give a flying (can of Christmas tree) flock" attitude. Is there a guarantee that all of those games will be on every one of the networks listed? I get ComCast Chicago, but I'm not too convinced that I won't be seeing a Magic Bullet infomercial during any of those listed time slots instead...
  18. isn't that part of growing up...learning to adapt to something that's a little bit more difficult than you're used to? At least it was for me, and everyone else who went to college, ever (for the most part). But then again, most of us weren't getting athletic scholarship money. I could see how that'd push you over the edge; don't want to draw the jealousy of anybody who wishes that they could play college sports.
  19. Can you guys help out a little bit? What do you mean by Lisch being "hurt" and what do you mean by "other guard flipping out"? I'm sure I just missed it because I wasn't paying attention, but could you recap for the out-of-towners? Thanks.
  20. Call the men's bball office. Ask them to arrange it maybe? Or, find out when practice is, get there 30-45 minutes early, and camp outside of West Pine. An "Autograph Basketball" with a white panel will run about 25 bucks.
  21. I'm pretty sure that the NCAA won't allow you to LiveBlog or post on message boards during any event. The waiver that I had to sign for College Cup credentials last year told me that I couldn't, and there was a big stink when they kicked a college kid (if I remember correctly) out of a game last spring for LiveBlogging. Check out www.deadspin.com...Will Leitch definitely covered the ridiculous-ness-osity of the situation...and it is an A+ blog, on top of that.
