Breaking it down a little more prior to the game.....SLU’s semifinal win over George Mason was by far their best power win of the season. George Mason had a 31 RPI this week. VCU, SLU’s final opponent had a 64 RPI. (SLU had a 59 this week) Vanderbilt (15) and Kansas (22) had the strong RPI ratings but SLU lost both games. SLU had a bad non-comference loss to Kansas St. (161) and wins over UMKC (121) Arkansas St (148).....56 Central Arkansas would have been a better opponent.....Oral Roberts (212) Evansville (271) SIUE (257) The A-10 had 4 top 100 RPI teams including SLU. billikenfan05 Posted November 4, 2018 Share Posted November 4, 2018 It’s interesting to see that the women’s team gets a lot of second generation billikens(daughters of men’s players) but the men’s team doesn’t seem to have had many over the years. On this team currently are familiar last names like Zaber and Merlo who I believe all had fathers play for the Billikens. Courtney Reimer’s sister was a billiken as well.
