TheBand
From the Business Journal today: Saint Louis University's Billikens have the 15th most expensive ticket in college basketball with a median price of $70 per ticket, according to a ranking from secondary ticket marketplace Vivid Seats. Duke has the most expensive ticket, at a median price of $195, followed by the Kentucky Wildcats at $177. http://www.bizjournals.com/stlouis/morning_call/2014/12/5-things-you-dont-need-to-know-but-might-want-1218.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
cheeseman
Very misleading - I am not sure how they exactly reached this figure but if they took all the seat license fees and the actual ticket price plus including all the other higher priced seats you could come up with this figure is my guess. I am sure we are not the only school who charges seat fees.
Cowboy
-Biz Journal took from a site called Vivid Seats, I had never heard of this site, did a brief bit of looking and could not find their report on this -imo Biz Journal quality has slipped in the last 3-4 years
slu06
I love the stadium, but we do have expensive tickets given (1) our tame collegiate atmosphere; (2) the program's relative lack of "success." Plus, once you throw on the 2-3 beer surcharge...
kshoe
I've searched a bit for the actual report and I was able to find the list but little describing the methodology used to calculate it. What little I did find seemed to indicate this is a resale price based on tickets sold on their website (Vivid Seats is a resale site). This most recent ranking is for 2014 and given the number of sellouts we had last spring, it is quite believable that the median price paid was $70. I highly doubt this site is figuring season ticket holder costs, including any required donations in their calculations. http://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/news/2014/12/02/ku-basketball-ticket-prices.html
BigMouthBilliken
At least we are ranked 15th in the country for something...

ARon
I'm unclear on whether this is ranking list prices or secondary market prices.
kshoe
I'm unclear on whether this is ranking list prices or secondary market prices. Pretty sure it is secondary market prices. This article which lists the full top 25 also talks about the highest games of the year, etc. http://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/news/2014/12/02/ku-basketball-ticket-prices.html
White Pelican
If it's secondary market, then check again this time next year. Should be quite a change.
cheeseman
If what Kshoe reported is true then how it was posted in the Biz Journal was very misleading. Poor journalism.
BACKHANDtheRICAN
If it's secondary market, then check again this time next year. Should be quite a change. Would we receive an 'N/A' for no secondary market purchases this season?
bonwich
Poor journalism. That phrase has become redundant, in more than one way.
