slufanskip
I don't think "brain fart" is the right term. When people say "brain fart" it usually means their minds stopped working for a second, they forgot something, etc. I think it's pretty naive to think that Matheny didn't think very hard about the decision to use Boggs. It's just that it backfired. And now Boggs is gone for awhile, so nothing to worry about. MB has been pretty much spot-on throughout this thread. Let's move on. How about we get it right before we move on and add he'd been scored on in 2 of the 3 outings since he was brought back. It was a bad decision. The idea that everyone else took part in the decision so it was understandable is laughable. Neither you or MB have any idea regarding any discussions that were had between Matheny and Lilliquist or any one else. Nor does anyone who posts on this board have any idea whether or not anyone but Matheny was in favor of the move

Neither you or MB have any idea regarding any discussions that were had between Matheny and Lilliquist or any one else. Nor does anyone who posts on this board have any idea whether or not anyone but Matheny was in favor of the move Did you hear Ricky Horton discuss the matter on the air? Al Hrabosky? Long time successful professional baseball players that completely understand the dynamics of the situation; they knew it had to be done, a calculated risk with a huge upside. It was time for the organization to give Boggs another chance. To boot, there were no sure fire options in the bullpen anyway. Boggs had been sent down to the minors on a program to reboot, work on his mechanics, get his confidence back. He is still big, young and throws hard. He's pitched successfully before. An audition. Put up or shut up. See if he can do it. Step up. Sh*t or get off the pot. Man up. Can he do it? Can we count on him for the rest of the season? It was a good baseball move for a 162 game season. Boggs failed. You think that it is laughable that others took part in the decision; that sounds like someone who does not know the game other than at a rudimentary level, a simple fan who does not understand how pitchers are handled at the higher levels of baseball. willie
With all due respect your post is full of crap. The timeing to give him another shot was compltely wrong . They set him up to fail. He should not have been recalled until he had success at Memphis. Whether it was Mo or Matheny who knows, but it was a bad decision.
