Quality Is Job 1 Posted March 17, 2013 Share Posted March 17, 2013 Hmm hopefully this won't come into play, but CBS has cut away from the MVC and CUSA title games in the past week to go to the start of a Big Ten game. Except in home markets. Good thing CBS scheduled the Big 10 championship game for 2:30, else we'd be missing the end of this game. Hope it doesn't go to overtime. You beat me by ~15 minutes. Mersereau Posted March 17, 2013 Share Posted March 17, 2013 Hello all, Long time lurker, first post. Let me preface this by stating I have little if any affiliation with Saint Louis University. My best friend was very close with Coach Majerus, as a result I was able to spend a few instances with him. As a result, I became very invested with Billiken Basketball as I was when he was at Utah. To say Coach was a quality man would be a huge understatement. I couldn't have been happier for the Billiken players, coaches, support staff and fans than I was today. They endured quite a lot this year. The team played a brand of basketball Coach Majerus truly would have been proud of. Coach Majerus always wanted his teams to play with toughness, discipline, and class and I believe this team exemplified those traits. I know Coach Whitesell, but I do not know Coach Crews. I think the staff has done a wonderful job, and hope even if they do not stay at Saint Louis, they are rewarded for what they have helped accomplish this year. I think the players have done a wonderful job of adapting to Coach Crews, while maintaining the way Coach Majerus liked his teams to play. They play as a team on offense and defense, and it appears there is very little ego to obstruct from their main goal. I will be following the team through the NCAA tournament, and wish everyone affiliated with Billiken Basketball the best of luck.
