mackim56
MG who was suppose to have been in St Louis for visit at SLU over the weekend was just named 1st team Juco All-American, by NJCAA. Will his recruitment heat up even more now?
davidlee
mackim Thanks for the info. As for as your question "Will his recruitment heat up even more now?", could be. One thing I have observed with recruiting in the spring is that you find a lot of coaching changes. The new coach usually has to fill a couple spots on his roster, so he looks at the JC ranks since most decent high school players sign in the fall. Someone like Griskenas, who may not be of interest will all of sudden find additional programs showing up at his door step. Let's hope for Brad and his staff not too many more show up. Griskenas could be a big part of SLU's lineup for next year.
Cowboy
Frank just said on his program that MG did make his visit and he has another scheduled for Idaho or Idaho St, at this point. Also MG is impressed as these two schools have been on him consistently and the longest. Let's hope....
billiken_roy
frank also said that with MG being from europe, he couldnt care less about the "mystic" of the big school. i.e. stemler supposedly turned on slu last minute because the legendary indiana program came calling. mg doesnt know where indiana is at and doesnt care. inthelou
Frank would pump sunshine if we were recruiting a dwarf from Transylvania.
slu72
We ought to be able to beat out Idaho and Idaho St. for cripes sake.
Box and Won
You know better than anyone that we cannot afford to take any recruiting rival too lightly.

mackim56
Before being named All-American MG had firm offers from SLU,Idaho ST, Arkansas State, Western KY, Nevada-Reno, Evansville, Ill.-State, Hawaii, Dayton and East Carolina With interest from Georgia, Ole Miss, Rutgers, Illinois, Oklahoma and Tennessee. I understand he was impressed with SLU when you played North Carolina -- he was there and does work out with Hansbrough when he is in town. Basketbill
anything about his visit or when he will make his decision?
mackim56
The Poplar Bluff paper today said Mantas is no closer to making any commitment either way, after his SLU visit. Still plans on other visits then make up his mind. PS: anybody know who they paired him up with to show him around??
SLUDrew
Who was the last kid that committed immediately after his visit? Where are the "I just fell in love with the coaches" comments we hear from so many other kids who make official visits to other schools? brianstl
Otherwise he would be signing on the dotted line tomorrow. I don't know how any male teenager could say no to her. Brad needs to find a way to get her helping with recruiting.
