  1. Thanks for the great feedback.
  2. Does anyone else have any concerns about Rammer's voice? I mean I listen to the evening show on 101 almost every night and the poor guy sounds so hoarse most of the time he can barely get his words out. Anybody know if he's been sick or had a throat condition? I wouldn't think much of it but it seems like it's been with him for months now.
  3. Why Frank continues to prop this guy up year after year amazes me. Is he still on Sunday nights on Channel 5?
  4. Let's not get overly dramatic. It's not a big game but we need to win it obviously. It won't be close. St. Bonn will have trouble scoring. I look for blowout of more than 20 by the Bills.
  5. I completely agree. Nearly anyway you look at it we are the class of this league. I think winning out is VERY realistic.
  6. Is Robertson portrayed in the movie? I don't recall that.
  7. As Bernie Miklasz always says: "I respect you Roy"
  8. Is it just me or does Ramsey go overboard in his praise of these creampuffs? It's starting to get on my nerves. I remember listening to the opener you'd have thought Tennessee State was UCLA circa 1974. And now this. We will win this game going away. It's not what Springfield is doing it's what we aren't doing.
  9. I agree about next year - completely. We should be THE conference favorite. Second at the very least. All I'm saying is that we really have no outside shooting and St. Bonaventure, yes the Bonnies, just smoked us the other night. To start spouting off after beating perhaps the worst team on the league that's down to just a few scholarship players at home, to me anyway, is just over the top.
  10. It was a nice game but put down the kool-aid. "Any team in this league"? Lol. I happen to think this league is pretty good.
  11. I agree I'm glad the Bills are still playing. It's fun and great experience. I disagree though that no one ridicules bowl games. Give me a break. You can't pick up a paper or watch Sports Center without the constant ridicule from Dec 1 until January 10 every year. If anything they are ridiculed more because they are all televised and involved high profile teams.
  12. I don't post much but I wanted to pass along my brother in law Bob, who is die hard Billiken fan, was diagnosed about 10 days ago with serious cancer. He's a great fan who has supported the Bills since his college days in late 70s. Also a graduate of CBC. We are hoping for some help from above so any prayers from this board would be appreciated. It's ashame he can't enjoy this recent run of success with what he's dealing with because no one would more than him. He's not a big Internet guy and doesn't post the board.
  13. Could Cotto even speak English? I agree I thought he kind of had a strange background for us to be recruiting him.
  14. I couldn't agree more kshoe. He can get caught up. It will just be a few weeks of heck but he can do it. Also, every recruit is a "risk" to an extent. Inner city kids, rural, international. They all come with different academic issues. This coaching staff knows what they are doing. It's just something a lot of staffs have to work their way through. In defense of the NCAA I'm sure these situations get tremendously complicated at times too.
  15. You are wrong Brian. I most definitely do think coaches report to the AD except in a few disfunctional situations that don't last. The coaches may make more money but in most stable situations they are accountable to the AD. Perhaps in a Bobby Knight kind of situation they are not at Indiana but look how that ended.
  16. It is somewhat surprising in that Majerus basically said it was done deal when he was on the air with Frank. He said "he was expecting or hoping" for a phone call from Porter Moser as soon as he got off the air to confirm it.
  17. Came in late. What was he saying about Tommie and not graduating? He sounded frustrated.
  18. I think it's a non-issue for us. Really not that much different than having a regional here. It's not a negative for SLU. It will get a little love by the local media and then it will be gone. If it doesn't sell out they'll be all kinds of excuses by Viverito as to what happened.
  19. What is it with Majerus and these sexual innuendoes and obsessions? It's one thing to be a tough coach but I've never been comfortable with somebody who is obsessed with body parts and sexual references. It's one thing to use a four letter expletive in the heat of battle but to constantly be using sex organ references or grabbing or exposing your own private areas is bizzare.
  20. Hey Roy: I'm just kind of joking with you somewhat. You have defended the A-10 but I honestly don't know if you ever specifically used that as reason for your defense. However I continually have heard Rammer and particularly Earl Austin cite things like the UMass fraudulent run to the Final Four, Rhode Island's success under Harrick and Temple's Final Eight appearances under John Chaney, who had one of the worst graduation rates in the history of D-1 basketball as "reasons" why we belong in the A-10 and it is so superior to any other alternative. Don't get me wrong I personally want us in the A-10 over any other current option. But I think it's hypocritical to get on our constant academic high horse and then give three of the worst academic situations/cheating that's been affiliated with the league as reasons why we should be in said league.
  21. Yet you continually bask in the glow of Calipari's cess pool Final Four run at UMass as justification for the greatness of the A-10.
  22. Well said. Getting the players and coaching them is the key. With Rickma's recruiting range being national and international getting in good with the St. Louis media isn't going to mean a lot. On court results will mean everything.
  23. Totally understand your point Clock. I guess when Brad took over I always looked at him as being more committed to the Billikens long-term and he said as much, with talk of a national championship. Just thought a guy like that would be more into the nuances of being the head coach at an urban university. Romar, to me, was a cup of coffee, use the program type of guy, even though he was a very good coach.
  24. You know it's funny but that's something I always wondered about UB. It was strange that he lived way the heck out there for the head coach at an urban university. I know it's not unheard of but it always struck me as odd to be that far out. PR does matter. Having kids at the house and being more visible at city events does matter. Just my opinion.
