  1. This is true. Mostly has depended on referee and AD enforcement for SLU students the past two years tho.
  2. Y’all seem to be overlooking the most important part of this non con sched... They’re doing a Billiken madness! Dreams do come true!
  3. Today, Iceland looks to be anywhere behind the 3 point line. Only 2/10 for IG from deep. I will give him credit though in that it looks like if the Iceland offense doesn't run through him it's pretty much doomed for the possession. He leads his team with 6 of Ice's 14 assists, which also means he's not exactly getting great passes leading to his shots and many are contested. He did have a cool behind the back assist in the lane on a fast break for example.
  4. I would love to be pleasantly surprised by this, I'm a big fan of that Reggie Agbeko range You best believe if French is making it rain from deep I'll have his flag waving around more than Les Mis.
  5. Agreed. Seems like the only known stretch 4 threat. If healthy he could valuable in being a big who can also create the lane space Goodwin needs with his outside threats.
  6. I think it was Monday afternoon I went to Simon Rec. There was a St. Louis Eagles sign in sheet. Like it was a practice there or something. Terrence Hargrove was on the court next to my friend and me and he was there before anyone else so I went over and shook his hand and told him how absolutely stoked we were to have him. Others on his team showed up later, which I guess would likely include Yuri, although I didn't know what he looked like so I can't say for sure. If he was there, he could've been on SLU campus during Monday workday hours if that's worth anything depending on when this report came out. OT: Mike Crawford and Austin Eagleton were also playing on a different court at same time. Just a pick up game. One time I stole a ball from MC on the dribble in pick up and promptly turned it back over, but it was the highlight of my rec career.
  7. Thanks! And it's been passed on to the new board. Ultimately, it will come down to the students on the Gameday Committee and how/if they wanna coordinate it next year when it comes time. The new board has been meeting over the summer within themselves and with athletics about SLU101 and planning soccer and bball sched's so they may not have discussed it yet but possibly sooner than we may expect. Fair warning though, I just graduated so my finger may not be on the pulse of the SLUnatics in too long.
  8. Eh, it was more like there just hadn't been any movement on the front so we tried to get the ball rolling but it wasn't the time. But what I believe your implication to be is right, in order to have a legit Midnight Madness (at least to the proportion I'm imagining) the department would have to be full-on behind it and throwing money at it. SLUnatics can put some boots on the ground but at the end of the day the $ has to move.
  9. I don't know if it'll happen but a midnight madness was on the SLUnatics agenda for this upcoming year. Last year was a no go but that was, well, last year.
  10. I just had to teach an ACT prep class so I had to find the numbers. Latest stats have 25th-75th percentile ranges as Mizzou : 23-29 SLU : 25-31. I wouldn't consider this too important for recruiting although Ford does pitch academics, but it's nice to know
  11. Doesn't he have some kind of side job with the Cardinals right now? That would give him slightly more incentive to stay, right?
  12. I agree and that's the plan! The new leadership is full of some extremely dedicated and motivated individuals who are going to be around for a while, and there's a lot more of them than we had before. I'm excited for the future of SLU bball games for a lot of reasons.
  13. It was more of a mash up of four songs we could get people to dance to. The emcee, Dre, and a cheerleader and SLUnatics leader would go down front and lead the dance. Did it for conference season. A lot of ideas were implemented this past year and while much of its not really aimed at the general attendees, hopefully you'll be noticing sooner than later. I guess it's not really a tradition unless it happens over and over as time passes so I mean we'll see what sticks and what changes moving forward.
  14. I'm down with this idea for sure! That's actually been one of our goals is to find ways to make traditions. This fits perfectly. Fortunately or unfortunately, I do that grad thing tomorrow, so I'll start having less pull soon, but @MattyMo213 will still be with the board and going strong! We'll make sure this gets to them.
  15. Looked into it a little. Probably took a deeper dive than necessary just with speculation but... UL - Apparently most of the non-con schedule was already set before Padgett was even really in charge at UL, and he said they were working on rounding out the schedule with "5 guarantee games" back in Feb. Mack might not have gotten to schedule much for them. This is what they have according to Louisville newspaper, if you're interested on trying to find where we could fit in. Most of Nov could be open or that first week of Dec. @ UL before finals? Nov. 21 and 23: NIT Season Tip-Off (games vs. two of Kansas, Marquette, Tennessee) Dec. 1 or 2: at Seton Hall Dec. 8: at Indiana Home games with no date set: Kentucky; two NIT Season Tip-Off home games (opponents TBD) Other games with no date set: ACC-Big Ten Challenge (opponent TBD) Xavier - Hard to find much on Xavier but I guess they may be in the Gavitt Tip Off Games which is B1G vs. B.East and their Crosstown Shootout with Cincy. It also may be of note that they ended up in a tournament last year with GW, in a 15-16 tournament with Dayton, and did a HH with Mizzou 14-15 & 15-16. May just show willingness to come out here and/or play A10 but they do have a new coach.
  16. It may not be worth guessing, but how plausible could Louisville be? They're close, we've played them twice in recent years, and used to play them all the time when in same conference.
  17. Yep. Saw him, wanted to say something other than "A10 CHAMPS 2019!" so I asked that. Then saw this thread the next day.
  18. Got a W over Davidson yesterday. Had to after dropping first two. Our conference record is now 14-3 with a series at StB and home vs GW left. StB is 5-11 in conference and GW 11-7. Davidson is 14-6 with a series at home vs. Dayton who is 6-11 in A10. So, if we finish these last two series 4-2 or better, no matter what Davidson does, we're in the clear and get the 1 seed. Also of note, @billikenfan05 's observation of adorable dogs in attendance continues to prove true. At least 4 yesterday.
  19. Weirdly enough, I saw him this weekend and asked him this same question. He said 13-14 days. If that's the case, @TFord and TRavs guess is about right then.
  20. While it's true he's not quite the physical specimen the rest of the squad will be next year, or highly aggressive, I do think we still have to give him some credit for having some mental toughness. I had a class the same time as Jalen in Xavier this year and one day we were both walking down to Chaifetz after class. It was the day after VCU and he was bummed, but if you remember, he had 0 pts in 8 min. He was going to meet with coach and didn't explicitly say about what (but I figure we're assuming playing time here). The next game was Dayton and he responded with 16 pts in 20 min. That's a resilient dude. I'll miss him.
  21. Looks like we got the second game too. 8-4 good guys.
  22. Good news for game one! I know the A10 isn’t a strong baseball conference, but since we’ve been on such a tear and beat B1G teams and all, do you all think are we’re still looking at having to win the conference tournament to get an NCAA bid? D1baseball.com has us projected as a 4 seed in Arkansas’ region but that’s likely assuming that we’re the A10 rep.
  23. @Old guy, my bad. I just tried to paste an image. I'm not doing anything shady. Here see if this works ...
  24. It's interesting that SLU looks to be prioritizing Kentucky. Personally, I'm a fan because the big hometown schools there (UK, UL) don't really seem to recruit in state. With us being nearby and Ford's roots there, I think it would be really cool if we could become the regional go-to school for overlooked Kentucky or Louisville area kids. Kentucky doesn't exactly always put out stellar HS recruiting classes, but here's a breakdown of Kentucky HS recruits going to UL or UK. 2010 - none 2011 - Chane Behanan 5* UL 2012 - none 2013 - Derek Willis 3* UK, Dominique Hawkins 3* UK 2014 - Quentin Snider 4* UL 2015 - Ray Spalding 4* UL 2016 - none 2017 - none 2018 - none 5 in the last 9 years doesn't seem like much.
