  1. And I asked this in the other thread, it says hat but where are the hats on that website? And why is that Duke in that picture?
  2. If the school did match, part of me wonders if they know or think the Big East may be expanding sooner rather than later and are trying to position themselves as best as possible. Obviously it's easy to say if you provide a free trip of course students will go but it does show dedication to getting fans to games by the biggest booster and the school. Probably overthinking it but SLU did really hype up the Butler game, Dr. P just sent out a tweet about Jesuit schools in the tournament, and now they are paying money that they have never done before to send students to a game. Even if not for the Big East, happy to see the dedication to the program finally.
  3. Since this topic is about gear, I noticed the athletic account tweeting a link to https://slubillikensgear.merchorders.com/. Is this website new or have I just not seen it before? And why don't they have hats?
  4. Definitely do it. Also, do you have numbers for how traffic on here picked up over the course of the tournament? Would be interesting to see how it gained, especially after Saturday if it did.
  5. Espn's giant killers upset picks has us as a "stay away" from for upset pick. Thinks the VT offense will be too much to handle with Justin Robinson returning.
  6. Goodwin with 16 of our first 37 points I believe to keep us in it when we were struggling, 14 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks, and 2 steals. Man that kid needs a ton of work.
  7. Whoa, shot at giant leprechauns on St. Patty's day weekend.
  8. Yea it is pretty simple as 05 said, the goal for SLU every year should be to get into the tournament. The tournament means more money and more exposure for the school and the program. The path to get to the tournament is better in the A10 that has gotten at least 3 teams in for years compared to the MVC that only gets one team in. SLU should only look at conference moves that improve their chances at getting in the tournament or at least keeps them the same, not decreasing them which a move to the MVC would do.
  9. I think Rich might have been saying he doesn't remember Ford saying French is "the best" free throw shooter which I believe is true. From @HoosierPal's recap that I remember, he said French makes 75 to 80% during practice, which doesn't mean he is the best. Similar to Thatch, Ford said "he might be one of the best shooters", not that he 100% is the best shooter on the team. Just don't want to take things Ford says too far out of context.
  10. Confirm. He said on the radio before that his current girl that has two kids from a previous marriage that live here. I think Illinois side.
  11. Didn't see this posted but Frank did have highlights of Yuri from this game. Link
  12. Martin did a story on Dr. Chaifetz last night. Here is a link if you missed it. Really just goes through his story that I am sure most of us heard but he also kind of downplays the NBA rumor that came up. Link
  13. This might've been talked about in a different thread but with BenFreds article today, I felt this needed a bump. It looks to me like Andre is a big part of the student section being active and involved. I don't know how much they pay him but they need to give him a raise to keep him coming back. He does a great job. Link
  14. Credit @Box and Won for the idea but I can post 2 Field of dreams related items in a week. Not going to miss this chance. Our team heading into the locker room:
  15. I am going to need the first 4 seconds of this video as a gif for all future recruits Ford gets if somebody can do that.
  16. The men's official twitter account should tweet some out tomorrow.
  17. Hire James Earl Jones to give his Field of Dreams speech slightly changed? Alumni will come, Fred. They'll come to St. Louis for reasons they can't even fathom. They'll turn up on Laclede not knowing for sure why they're doing it. They'll arrive at the front door as innocent as students, longing for the past. "Of course, we won't mind if you look around", you'll say. "It's only $20 donation per person". They'll pass over the money without even thinking about it, for it is money they have and fun they lack. And they'll walk up to the bar; waiting for a shot on a perfect night. They'll find they have reserved table for penny pitchers upstairs, where they sat when they were students and chugged their beers. And they'll drink beer and it'll be as if they dipped themselves in magic waters. The memories will be so thick they'll have to brush them away from their faces. Oh alumni will come Fred.
  18. I agree and I wasn't saying he is above criticism. Just saying my expectations were set with a different roster. His offense definitely has left a lot to be desired and he hasn't adjusted it to fit the players he has since he doesn't have a shooter. But again I guess it comes to expectations. I never expected Ford to be the next Majerus in coaching. The defense this year has been good but still can find problems like you pointed out. I was expecting a great recruiter with Ford and with the freshmen he has brought in, class he has coming in next year, I haven't been disappointed there.
  19. Sure but when I look at why I had high expectations, a big part was the deep front court and Isabell being a big part of offense. We lost Santos and Gordon and Isabell has been a disappointment. I dont know what happened with Santos but knew Gordon was risk but one worth taking. Just was off on Isabell helping the offense and him being a grad transfer, Ford didn't have years evaluating how he'd fit in like he does with freshmen recruits. Besides, sit 2 put him in position where he needed Isabell to be big part of offense. I guess I just can't put those things on Ford. If those 3 weren't on the roster coming into the season, I wouldn't have had high expectations.
