  1. I am not very good at distinguishing sarcasm from normal talk, sorry
  2. Careful with what you ask for.
  3. SLU Lax, I think you read cheeseman's post backwards. Here it is again:
  4. Let's rethink this issue for a second. Does SLU have the power to plan the flow of traffic through a major avenue in that area? As a concept the plan is pretty and may provide some safety to pedestrians, but doesn't it require approval by the City before it becomes more than a plan and a pretty drawing? Just asking. Pedestrian bridges are very different from median parks, they do not affect traffic, and may improve the traffic flow by channeling pedestrian traffic.
  5. I like the way you think 05
  6. They are also listed in the SLU official Athletes getting degrees this week listing. Psimitris, Roby, Bess, and Welmer will receive degrees from SLU this week.
  7. Very nice article.
  8. This is a problem like saying the name Putin in French.
  9. I am sorry to see him go, but agree that he has to do what is best for himself and his family. All the best to you Jalen and thank you for all you did for SLU.
  10. No idea if he did or not, but I would tend to agree he is likely to be posting about personal issues, not about basketball.
  11. Yep that is the way it goes for most people.
  12. Sorry about my geographical ignorance, I am glad we got him and will believe he was one of the players flying under the radar until we see him actually play.
  13. Well, the budget may indicate one thing, but there may be other budgets available to some of these places (like for example a separate and broad travel budget for Bonnie, available to all departments just because they are so isolated and need to spend a lot for the faculty to attend conferences, athletic games, and the like), that might equalize the actual amounts spent a bit more evenly.
  14. The good thing is that we will find out next season, or at least I hope we will.
  15. In Pearson's case it is not only Kentucky, it is the Appalachian mountain area of Kentucky. This is a region where the people in Rivals and other outfits cannot conceive anything good ever comes out of. Something similar could be said about Thatch. Sikeston?, no way. Rankings do not always reflect reality. There are a lot of expectations placed on kids signing up with the "right" programs and coming out of the "right" places, other kids that do not sign with the right schools or come from the right places may go entirely under the radar. I fully agree with Roy, I believe this was the case with Pearson.
  16. This is absolutely true, my ex wife's family's business was plumbing and they made more money than you could imagine.
  17. Very nice, thank you. This brings a big smile to my face.
  18. 05 thank you for the information, there is a lot more to DJ than I knew, impressive.
  19. I have gone through this already in the past, MD '71 Georgetown, Internal Medicine Residence "71-74 Georgetown, Post Grad Harvard MPH MS Immunology reserach. Worked corporate jobs, now retired. Happy gobillsgo? Yes Bobby DJ is a good person as is clearly shown by his concern for others.
  20. Vertigo is not collapse and does not require hospitalization.
  21. There are hundreds of causes for syncope or black out. Again, there are black outs and there are black outs. Is the patient breathing?, does the patient have a pulse?, is the pulse rapid or irregular?, is there a measurable BP?, is there any evidence of trauma?, is he/she conscious and oriented?, and so on and so forth. In most cases the causes for syncope can be found in the ER, in some cases they cannot. Asthma can make things worse. Simple cases can be caused just by dehydration and can be dealt with by giving IV fluids in an outpatient basis. It is not clear why he should have been hospitalized for several days given the three conditions mentioned: dehydration, asthma, and syncope. There is nothing else I can say without a diagnosis or a statement of what they found.
  22. One issue needs to be made clear here. No one is hospitalized for asthma unless it is deemed to be possibly life threatening. People that go to the ER with asthma and dehydration are given fluids (possibly IV), epinephrine, and bronchodilators and observed for a couple of hours. They should be stable enough to go home afterwards with a prescription for bronchodilators and a requirement to see their Drs within a day or two. I hope all turns out well for DJ.
  23. I wish him all the best.
