  1. Agree with the previous 4 posts. Wish you had a permanent position at the 'Fetz !
  2. Merry Christmas slu 72, that was a great list, and Merry Christmas to all us Bill posters ! Thanks for everything, Steve !
  3. Sure, just go see your buddies play ! If he were here, even the Pillsbury Doughboy who is taking over N. Korea would be in section 121.
  4. I would pick Duke. Let Mizzou play Pie Crust St. again. To heck with 'em.
  5. Life is too short to worry about what our past opponents are doing. We can't control that. What we can do is just win as many games as possible and see what happens. Prepare for each game, enjoy it and keep-a-goin' ! (Lorenzo Zook ? I like that !)
  6. I liked BC three years ago and suffered with his continual missed layups and now we love his dunks, leadership, etc. I like JB and I think he will be fine with more seasoning, same as BC.
  7. I agree with bill. On Jake's final drive when he missed the finger roll, he almost seemed surprised that he had taken it all the way to the rim. He'll get better and better with more playing time and developed confidence. We sure have acquired a valu-pak of guards.
  8. Not much to criticize from the Bills tonight. KM, RL and CE really looked good. This was a good first step back in getting ready for the trip to the Pit. Hope McCall is back in there next game.
  9. Yes, let's not get too carried away with bracketology and projections and such. We need to improve and focus on one game at a time. There are lots of big games left, home and especially away in the conference. Constantly improve, meld together and win, win, win. We will be happy where we end up if we do that. Every player will have to step up and shine somewhere along the road. We're not the team that played against UI-S but we're not the first-half team vs. UWash. either. Grind 'em out, boys !
  10. I agree with you, roy. I'm prejudiced for Irving because he was in my class at SLU. He was slightly taller and much skinnier than KM. He did everything well, had a soft, silky jumpshot and was speedy enough to penetrate for layups. Good passer and defender. This was pre-3 pt. shot, frosh not eligible. Yes, watching Burns was fun but it did seem like watching 1 against 5. He was incredible but we almost always lost. Rammer is right, Waldman was steady as a rock and he had a good supporting cast. Hope that KM supplants all these guys in our memory by the time he is through.
  11. I'll go back a bit further to Jimmy Irving.
  12. Don't worry, WCB, your BB observer IQ is quite high.
  13. Rammer says Waldman is the best SLU point guard that he has seen.
  14. It was nice to see that RM gave you students some applause as he walked off the court last night.
  15. Yes, you could see that choke coming. Welders !
  16. Yes, we need to win. My Rockhurst student son is coming in to watch the Bills and btw, RU did win that game. Go Jebbies.
  17. Very well- played, slu72. Yeah, those incompetent Jebbies ! I just went to look at a nearby house where, I just learned by following today's links, the "possessed" kid in question once visited his aunt. The current exorcists need to cast their eyes on this Kenny Frease character, to get back to basketball chatter.
  18. Well, the exorcisms took place at SLU. The kid was a boy, not a girl as in the book and movie. The movie came out in the early 70s, so obviously the book came out earlier and the actual events earlier than that. The case originated in Washington DC, then moved to SLU but the boy was from somewhere else. I heard about this in the late ' 60s, pre-movie. I suggest you Google "Exorcist" and "SLU". The P-D articles are fascinating and often when I'm at the corner of Grand and Lindell I shiver a bit ...The boy who was exorcised is still alive, I believe. Oh, thanks b hayes, you are quicker and more facile on the computer machine than I ! I believe the hospital referred to was the old Alexian Brothers on the south side. Guess all this doesn't have much to do with nicole the "8."
  19. Scariest movie I ever saw. Exaggerated special effects no doubt. But my SLU roommate also knew a priest with inside info. The P-D articles about the case were interesting. Spoooooky. Sort of like Remekun attempting a 20-footer.
  20. Both Taj and 72 are telepathic but neither of them minds answering the phone. Nice ! btw, I knew a doctor who was present during the "Exorcist" shenanigans. Spooky stuff.
