  1. They raised over $20k for chartered flights. Another $25k in additional auction items. A sold out event. Players were out and about talking to everyone. It was a nice event. The AD did well even with the early rain.
  2. It was a tactic to get something he didn't already have.
  3. RM is very happy here. The problem is that the money needed to run a decent program is not being funded. Example: Salaries for assistant coaches. Fr. B controls everything especially when it concerns money. The man is great at business but running a successful AD requires money especially to keep good people like Harriman. CH deserved more money and RM was fighting for him but the cash was not relinquished. CH is vital to the program but he has to take care of his family. It is BS like this that sets us back because these headaches could be avoided with more support from the top. Fr. B sees $ and ¢. He wants his cake and to eat it too. You can't do that with a top 25 program. You have a HOF coach but want to pay his supporting staff of a tier 3 program.
  4. Vtime 2.0 - for you to have the time to dig this up is hilarious. You must have a ton of spare time. Maybe you should follow Justin's lead and do something productive. Please delete all cookies and forget your password. Sincerely, Everyone
  5. In response to 3Bill and BB - I can confirm all the above. Until Fr. B starts to infuse more money into the program, SLU's success will be rate limited into progressing into a top 25 program year in and year out. With more resources and support, RM and staff would be less restricted and wouldn't have their hands tied all the time. Thankfully, RM's maneuver with SMU was good for the program but bad for our hearts. Sad it takes these type of games to get anything done.
  6. Here is what I know to date: LMU return game as well as UNM. They are working on Zags after UW game. Working on Florida too. Will be a great Noncon schedule.
  7. Our OOC schedule is shaping up to be a dandy. It will be nothing like the past.
  8. It is clear that no one on this board will make MB like Cookie Monster Ice Cream (cotton candy ice cream with Oreos and cookie dough at Serendity in Webster) i.e. - soccer. It is delightful and everyone in the world loves it. A slight few only like vanilla ice cream, missionary and plain baked potatoes (no salt, NO salt). MB is this guy. Soccer is outside his universe comfortably hidden amongst the rest of the world. He will never like nor appreciate it no matter how much you try to show the evidence.
  9. Another article. He is getting a lot of attention. 24 Pts a game and Big 8 POY. http://gazettextra.com/news/2012/mar/21/fuller-tops-boys-list/
  10. http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/blog/eye-on-college-basketball/17993839/duquesne-president-details-reasons-for-firing-everhart-in-email-to-board Didn't see it posted. Letter to the trustees leaked to CBS Sports. Interesting read about Everhart firing.
  11. I'm sure she is great if she is hanging with KL. Good to hear she looks as good as she likely acts.
  12. If it makes you feel any better, Creighton has reached out to the A10 about coming over. That gives you a more Midwestern presence. VCU has earned a right to get excited about. GMU not as much but not bad. Adding BU, CU and VCU would be ideal. UNCC will leave soon due to football considerations. That's where the money is. They will jump ship soon, trust me.
  13. Just to make a point about adding these teams to the conference: would games against VCU, Butler and GMU add aśśeś to seats - Yes. I would be more excited to watch these teams than most in our conference. Here's my rule of thumb: which opponents would my non-SLU basketball junkie friends be most likely to say yes to see? Non-SLU, non-basketball junkie friends to say yes? All three would beat the rest of the 80% of the league with BU and VCU beating out Temple. It's about attendance to the school and these programs have name recognition.
  14. He is a great kid making his mark. I know we are all very proud of him. I hope he is happy where he is. Great to hear he is engaged; he is every father's dream for a son-in-law.
  15. The U of L loss I think was expected. They were hot and have been hot for some time (last12 games). Also, the least relevant loss in terms of "look" is your last loss of the season so it really doesn't matter at this point if it look better or worse since that has zero value at this point. Enter: Next Year. That's all I care about at this point.
  16. Great find. Ordering one for the basement and one for each of my sons to hang in their room. Very nice!!!
  17. @Taj - SLU didn't have a single loss this past year. That's how we did. I think these are interesting facts that make SLU more interesting. Sure, big news is more relevant to the big picture but big news is hard to come by at a small school. Agree with you on the apparel and everything else. Nice to see the college kids taking a little pride in all things SLU.
  18. Totally agree. This is great for us. Nice way to develop a geographic rival.
  19. Welcome back! You did call DE being a stud the summer before his freshman year. That's worth something. IU is looking good too this year. We have that in common too.
  20. The Boners. We have their number. Just have to get 44 in foul trouble.
  21. I agree with both you and Roy if that is possible. I believe that KM's body of work as a whole this season was a disappointment. His first half of basketball this season was troubling in comparison to expectations. His defense and offense were less than stellar. His second half of basketball was a huge improvement. I do believe his production on both sides of the floor were still at times spotty. I think the above has much to do with having a compliment of very good players to share the burden. I am glad he is coming around in time for when it really matters. If there is a player who gets the ball with ten seconds to go it is KM all day in my eyes and he is still the man.
