  1. Yeah, SLU twitter posted that there was never any shots fired. Second time now that a shooting event has been reported that turned out to be nothing. Better than not reporting one that actually happened, I suppose.
  2. Not always anymore. Sometimes band, sometimes only PA music, sometimes a combination of both.
  3. You could provide your birth certificate and social security card. I think that would prove it for me
  4. @615Billiken In the past med/grad/law/etc students were able to opt in to the undergrad fee. Just email the athletic department to get that process started.
  5. If you don't mind more Wisconsin discussion, I'd like to add my two cents. I grew up 40 minutes from the "University of Wisconsin-Madison." If you're talking about where people went to school, you go by city names. "I went to Madison." "I went to La Crosse." etc. "UW" is absolutely a recognized abbreviation if you're typing it. I wouldn't probably speak that, though. "UW-M" would mean UW-Milwaukee to me, but I don't know if that's universal. As stated earlier, UW-Madison is the flagship, so UW, or Wisconsin would mean that campus. Secondly, while the annual Wisconsin-Marquette game is big and a good thing for the state, I think it's more important that the Badgers play UW-Milwaukee and UW-Green Bay every year as well. Those are the other two D-1 schools in the state. I believe the series is 2-for-1, so the Badgers actually play them on the road regularly as well. Those games are sellouts for Green Bay and Milwaukee, and occasionally they can pull of the upset.
  6. Graduate students can opt into the same fee that the undergrads have to pay. It's $30 for a season. Edit: In case you didn't know, a few years ago the students voted to create a basketball fee for the entire undergraduate body and then all students can go to any game for "free." It replaced the old system of $10 per game or $150-ish for the season. Grad students don't have to pay that fee, but can choose to in order to get the benefits.
  7. Thanks for the information Re: Cincinnati, guys! By the way, I'm moving there this summer to be a resident at the Christ Hospital. I'll be quite busy, but hopefully I can watch some games and maybe even make it to Dayton.
  8. What about US Bank Arena downtown? That was just granted 1st/2nd round games in the 2020-something NCAA tourney.
  9. So the incident today is over. There were no shots fired, and the "possible hand gun" was a rubber-band toy gun. In case anybody missed it: DPS sent out an alert that there might be a person with a gun in Spring Hall (new dorm). A few minutes later, someone reported gunshots near Marchetti East. DPS just released a statement that there were no shots reported, and that they investigated the suspect in Spring Hall, and it was just a guy with a toy gun.
  10. Awesome news! Travelling with the student bus for the game at Hinkle and winning that close game was one of my best experiences as a student
  11. Most of the athletes live in the Grand Forrest apartments next to Chaifetz. They're not very "nice," in terms of amenities, but they're OK
  12. I don't know guys, what about bringing back #BillikenTime? I loved how it reminded me of Miller
  13. I generally hate 4/1, but I smiled thinking about how Tilkowsky would react to this news: https://nextstl.com/2011/04/merger-on-st-louis-county-loses-as-st-charles-county-city-of-st-louis-merge-2/
  14. You knew this whole time and didin't tell anyone!!!! Think of all the consternation that could have been avoided!
  15. Turnovers were a big difference as well between the halves. I think it was about 12 TOs in the first half and only 4 in the second. Thanks for the shoutout on the shot clock. We've tried that before, only worked a couple times, though.
  16. I was on a service trip in the middle of Appalachia. We huddled around a radio to listen to the game because the internet wasn't fast enough to stream video. Awesome night, even there
  17. My understanding is that all SLUCare physicians are technically faculty of the school. They are all officially employed by the school, at least. My understanding of the internal medicine clerkship not being taught by faculty was that they were referring to either St Mary's staff or Mercy staff which take 3rd year students but aren't SLUCare physicians. Also, students have to spread out throughout the region to have enough places to go for family medicine experiences and that means private practice physicians teach as well.
  18. Anyone every notice how old the Edward Jones video at tip-off every game? Definitely older than that photo
  19. Couple games ago they shot the tshirt from the CO2 cannon onto the catwalk before it fell down. I think they cut back on the pressure since then Also, the tubas get the balls farther while carrying their instrument than the cheer team does...
