  1. Key is to beat Texas A&M and make sure we get Kansas on the schedule. Probably go 12-2 out of conference which was a very real possibility anyway. Maybe 11-3, but I don't see this team losing at home. The schedule isn't as weak as some people make it out to be, but we need Kansas on there anyway. Prediction: Kwamain is tough as nails and one of the best natural athletes I've seen. He comes back by December 1st. The excitement of his progress leads the team to a close loss to Kansas followed by a win @ Washington. Kwamain eases his way back into the rotation because McCall and Jett dominate games themselves. Evans puts together 3 double doubles while Kwamain is out. Manning averages 6 and 6. Cody and Rob rain 3's from deep. SLU goes 13-1 out of conference. Kwamain is at full strength and put together 30 points in a breakout game against New Mexico. SLU starts the conference season ranked 16th. Has one minor slip up in the conference season and the board goes into negativity mode, but SLU finishes 15-1 in the A10 and 28-2 overall. Kwamain's injury ends up letting multiple other guys break out and this team becomes the best in Billiken history. Runs the A10 Tournament in Brooklyn as Jay-Z takes an interest in Billiken Basketball. Sets up for a 1 seed in the tournament. After beating Mizzou in the Elite 8, SLU's historic run continues with a National Championship after Kwamain hits yet another deep clutch 3 at the end of the game to win. Crews decides to retire a champion. Jay Z and Chaifetz put their resources together to hire a big name coach and Biondi is forced to step down after he tries to say that the National Championship is bad for the school because it puts too much focus on athletics. SLU skies in the rankings and becomes a top 25 school.
  2. Tom Timmermann thinks it's likely that he'll be out until the first of the year.
  3. You would think so. 5-6 weeks in a cast. Could be 7 or more until hes ready to go. We know he's as tough as they get, but no reason to rush him back in with all the depth. Keith Carter becomes pretty important now.
  4. http://www.slubillikens.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=27200&ATCLID=205712866 In a cast/walking boot for 6 weeks
  5. I'll do my best to put together a game report here: SLU had to have had 80+% of the possession. Not as many good scoring chances as you would like with that possession, but Richmond was constantly dropping 8 or 9 guys back. SLU had the ball a ton in the first half but I remember looking up at the scoreboard with about 10 minutes left and we had no shots on goal. Not too much to talk about in the first half really though. Brangman came in for Bryce late in the first half I think. 2nd half wasn't a whole lot better. Hildago came in for Sweetin and Adnan for Kristo. Richmond's goal came after they tried to clear the ball and it took a funky hop and came up and hit Anthony Manning in the arm just outside the box. They converted the free kick and went up 1-0. I guess that's the wake up call that SLU needed because they scored just over a minute later. Heskamp made a great individual play. Took the ball from about midfield all the way down the side to the endline. Then cut it back to the middle and put a cross on the ground that Hildalgo put away. Credit to Heskamp on that goal and the first goal Friday night. He's playing really well right now. McGinty then put Sweetin and Kristo back in for Adnan and Raymond Lee maybe? Can't exactly remember. Adnan did not have a good game again. He has a ton of talent but is just struggling a bit now. He should be fine. We struggled to put a goal away for a while after that. Graydon and Heskamp made some great individual plays but we couldn't score. Sweetin sent a perfect cross from Graydon way over the goal. Just looked like he rushed it a bit. Sweetin played really well other than that and eventually sent in the game winner on a corner to Kristo. Dante got hurt mid second half and Maglasang came in for him. Maglasang played really well and might be our best 2 way midfielder. Roeckle played a good game and just got unlucky on some crosses that got knocked down by the wind.
  6. hard to pick up anything from the scrimmage because the defense knows what the offense is running. mccall looked good though. so did drew. rob was fine. we'll beat kansas. not sure after that yet.
  7. I have no idea what Pujols' age is. I never really liked him when he played for the Cardinals anyway. My uncle plays in the Pujols golf tournament every year and last year he said that Pujols said something about how he remembers playing with Dotel in little league. Now Dotel is 38 and Pujols says he's 32. Maybe Pujols played up a couple years? But not 6 years. Maybe my uncle misunderstood. Maybe Pujols misspoke. I don't really care though. Cardinals in 5 over the Giants.
  8. Pretty much agree with what skip and sluballs said. It was a great game. With a minute left I was ready to walk out of there pissed about a loss and pissed that the cardinals were about to lose too. What a turn of events there. I can't remember the last time I went to a soccer game and wasn't upset about the officiating. I thought it was pretty poor last night again. Btw, skip is a great fan. He was letting the ref hear it throughout the night.
  9. Here's something from the ESPN Expert Chat today Comment From Scott Best team west of the Mississippi now and at the end of the season? 1:47 Comment From Adam Kansas. 1:47 Eamonn Brennan: Good west coast hoops humor, Devin. 1:47 Myron Medcalf: St. Louis. 1:48 Eamonn Brennan: I'll stick with Kansas. 1:48 Myron Medcalf: St. Louis at end of season. Now, I think it's UCLA.
  10. I'll be there. The Cards game won't start until about halftime of the soccer game anyway so just show up and then hit up one of the local bars to watch the end of the game. I'll be in my usual spot right behind the bench with my laptop watching the Cardinals game too in the 2nd half if you want to watch for a bit or get updates.
  11. Willie was one of 13 players to play for the Kings in their first preseason game. 2 minutes and a rebound. Maybe he can get that last roster spot.
  12. I'll be there. Might be bringing my computer to watch Game 5 of the Cardinals series but I'll be there either way. Hopefully we can close it out in 4.
  13. It's like the article said, we'll have a good schedule according to the numbers. It probably won't look all that impressive throughout the season but so many people look at RPI, Pomeroy, etc, and we'll be strong there.
  14. Molock is out for the season after tearing his ACL for the 3rd time I believe. Have to feel bad for that kid
  15. This is wrong though. Away games are: 4. Temple 6. Butler 9. Xavier 10. Richmond 11. St. Bonaventure 13. George Washington 14. Fordham 16. Duquesne
  16. http://grfx.cstv.com...asonrelease.pdf Preseason Poll: 1. St. Joes 2. SLU 3. VCU 4. Temple 5. Umass 6. Butler 7. La Salle 8. Dayton 9. Xavier 10. Richmond 11. St. Bonaventure 12. Charlotte 13. Duquesne 1st Team: Kevin Dillard (Dayton) Chris Gaston (Fordham) Kwamain Mitchell (SLU) Chaz Williams (UMass) Khalif Wyatt (Temple) 2nd Team: Rotnei Clarke (Butler) Chris Braswell (Char) Ramon Galloway (Las) Langston Galloway (SJU) Carl Jones (SJU) 3rd Team: Darien Brothers (Rich) CJ Aiken (SJU) Halil Kanacevic (SJU) Scootie Randall (Temp) Juvonte Reddick (VCU) All Defensive Team: Roosevelt Jones (Butler) Pierria Henry (Char) CJ Aiken (SJU) Jordair Jett (SLU) Briante Weber (VCU) All Rookie Team: Kellen Dunham (Butler) Jordan Hare (Rhode Island) Daniel Dingle (Temple) Melvin Johnson (VCU) Semaj Christon (Xavier)
  17. According to Timmermann, SLU's road games are against: 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16. Very winnable
  18. Only 12 days until practice starts I believe. Came across today. Scroll over and click on the SLU link and see some great highlights and the emotional press conferences from the tournament. Brings back some great memories. Couldn't be more excited for the season. http://www.ncaa.com/menshighlights Here's a couple direct links if for some reason the main link didn't work. http://www.ncaa.com/menshighlights/video/basketball-men/2012-03-18/third-round-saint-louis-post http://www.ncaa.com/menshighlights/video/basketball-men/2012-03-16/second-round-saint-louis-post http://www.ncaa.com/menshighlights/video/basketball-men/2012-03-16/mitchell-carries-saint-louis-past-memphis
  19. I agree with this without a doubt. This team is just exciting to watch. I'm really interested to see how the Dayton/Xavier road trip goes this weekend. Playing 2 teams that are probably borderline top 25 both on the road. I think this weekend will really show something on how good we'll be. We obviously have a tournament team, but I think even getting a win and a tie this weekend would really really show something. With the RPI being so high, I don't think a top 16 seed and a bye is out of the question. Probably unlikely, but definitely possible especially with Xavier, Dayton, VCU, and Charlotte all being pretty good this season. Allows for quality wins in the conference. Would be nice to host a game or 2 in the tournament at least.
  20. http://www.nba.com/kings/news/2012-13-sacramento-kings-training-camp-roster Willie is on the training camp roster. I think most NBA teams carry 12 guys maybe so I'm guessing 6 guys will be cut.
  21. Question for the fans older than me. When is the last time we have played a game against a ranked team when we have also been ranked?
  22. Watched this today. Couldn't decide where it should go but felt it needed to be shared.
  23. I could see us being ranked in one poll and out of the other. I think right on the top 25 fringe to start the season. Safely in for the rest of the season after beating Kansas
  24. These regional rankings from last week had us at 6 http://www.nscaa.com/rankings/1244/NCAADivisionI/men/MidAtlantic/Poll4?preview=5ebeb6065f64f2346dbb00ab789cf001
  25. First time Creighton has lost by more than 1 goal since 2009
