With Temple losing,someone's bubble could burst big time if SLU doesn't win it.

In town to see my dad. Might as well see the Billikens! Was last here when this building was new!

We had more top 50 RPI at the timwe played other games. It sucks that our good wins don't look as good. But it is beyound SLU's control.

Just lost to St. JOES. oh well!

Xavier will be sold on by the evening of the game. Maybe a day or two before.

Billikens have the problem of competing with Mizzou and the Blues. ALSO, I don't believe Saint Louis is much of a Basketball town. Not to mention, SLU isn't a BCS school and will never be. If they were they would have most of their games on TV.

SLU is 29th according to them... (up from 32nd) They got votes in AP and ESPN polls this week as well.

I sure wish Cassity would shoot more. I have been told he was a gunner in high school. I do think his basketball IQ is very high. I remember stretches over the last 2-3 years where he would go games with 0 or very few TOs. He always seemed to get a very tough defensive assignment, Even this year, I have seen him with 0 points, but 4-5 assists and a couple steals to go with them. Also steals and great assists at times where we the team needed a bucket bad or to stop a run by the opposing team. He definitley needs to step up but I think people are bashing him too much. Majerus knows more about basketball than anyone on this board and he keeps starting him. I will defer to coach's judgement.

KC has been a solid contributor. He doesn't score a lot of points but doesn't turn the ball over, gets a lot of assists, and has a high basketball IQ. That is the reason why he is starting and should continue to start. You don't bench a player like that because he doesn't score enough points in some people's mind. He has dedictated 4 years to this basketball program and should never be treated in such a way. The KC bashing really needs to stop. McCall is a good player...that is the future for sure. But he makes bad decisions on the court right now and he is learning from KC and KM. ENOUGH!

Wow, dumb message above. The Dayton game was lost because of turnovers and mental mistakes on the floor. It was not won or lost by the coach. KM turning the ball over and then getting his 5th foul was a large part of the loss. Mental mistake with another one directly after. The game was lucky to get into overtime but Ellis banked in a three. With no KM in OT, it was going to be difficult to pull off a win. I think it was 3 or 4 TOs in a row in OT.

Hopefully they should do well this time again. This Billikens team is much more rounded than the last couple years.

I think this thread is pretty much nonsense. We were playing a good team on the road. The Billikens have been sleeping in hotels for at least a week and were probably fatigued from the previous games. LMU was playing on their home floor and was better rested and it was their night to shoot extremely well. (60% in the second half I think) A lot of the shots they were made were contested so you gotts believe they would not hit those shots every night. When I was watching them off LMU's website I thought the billikens looked gassed in the second half. If SLU was better rested or perhaps were at home, the game would have turned out different. Please remember it is hard for any team to win on the road. It is NEVER a sinch!

Oh give the college kid at the college radio station a break!

Looks like a kid who could take up some room inside, box out, and get some rebounds. Rebounds hurt us last year, that is without question. Strength is what is needed for rebounding, as much as hops! Don't forget that!

Majerus does what he can with what he has to work with. He has done a pretty decent job recruiting considering this the SLU Billikens. The great college prospects do not want to come to schools like SLU because of lack of national exposure. That is why the big conferences get all the top recruits! Can you say "TV COVERAGE"? SLU does get some games televised nationally but not nearly enough. The silver lining is that it is possible to hold a team together for a few years. I can see that happening now. The top players seem to want to play 1 year in college and then look at going pro. That is why some of the smaller schools are making more and more noise in the tourney every year.

I guess I should not be too hard on him! When I was in boot camp...Rise and Grind was getting yelled out of bed at 4:30am, then do push-ups, sit-ups, and run a few miles.. Then eat breakfast when it was still dark! Thank the lord those days are over! hahaha!

I dunno. Willie is posting "Rise and Grind" at 11am central time. You can do a "Rise and Grind" by 7am...8am at the latest. Waking up around 11am is more "Rise,Look Around,Brush Teeth then get lunch" hahaha!

The wife did the 13.1 and I took the kids down to the finish line to meet her. Humidity was pretty tough out there hence the 26 was closed. There was a lot of people getting medical help down there. I ran five 26 milers in my life and I don't remember how many 5 and 10ks. I think it was the right decision to close the 26 down before somebody ended up dead...like in Chicago. I still do a 5 or 10k once in a while but by marathon days are behind me.

What can you say? I am not too hard on Dayton. They did win NIT last year which is no easy feat!

College Basketball is about matchups. It always has been at least on the D1 level. Majerus will start players based on matchups based on both opposing players and opposing defenses. (IE a lot of man to man or a lot of zone). A good example this year is BC. Some games he gets 2-4 points, some games he will get toward 20. It simply depends on who Majerus thinks will guard him. If a team has a weak 3 or 4 position, BC will start and probably score double figures. If a team is strong and deep on the inside, probably will not start and limited minutes. food for thought.
