  1. 4 minutes into game and it has filled up to about 2500.
  2. Six minutes until game time and there can't be more than a few hundred here.
  3. I sit behind the SLU bench and it looked like it was just a really bad shot. I didn't see a Duquesne player tip it.
  4. Dude, did you even watch the game? SLU shot 38%, committed 19 turnovers, blocked zero shots and got spanked on their home court by Duquesne. Those 19 turnovers consisted of double dribbles, travels and guys bouncing balls off their own feet. I'd have a hard time finding more than 10 instances in the game where the team looked graceful or even like they knew the game of basketball. And most of those photos would have just been Ash shooting treys. I know b!tching about the Post and their ANTI-SLU bias is sorta your thing, but if a team looks foo-foo, then a photographer has no choice but to show them as foo-foo. Seriously, this is an 8-13 team starting a walk-on. Don't blame the Post for making them look like sh!t.
  5. We should all be honored that Donald Trump posts on our board, considering his other obligations right now.
  6. This is not the same team at all. I really like this new team.
  7. What amazes me is how those five players were able to play those minutes at that pace. That was like watching Mike Dantoni's Phoenix Suns. Not sure how well the offense will work over a few games, but it sure was fun to watch tonight. I was beyond impressed with Bishop. Who knows if he'll ever be a decent defender -- though that can be taught in my opinion -- but he seems to be multi-skilled offensively. Decent ball handler, good shooter and quick to the hoop. Two 20+ point games in his past 3 as a freshman. Hard to complain. It seems apparent that Crews is playing Hines due to his taking care of the ball (low turnovers last two games), Ok shooting stroke and willingness to do what is asked of him. As a walk on, he's hungry and desperate for a chance. He's getting a chance now. Playing Agbeko as the main 5 is pretty much what has to be done with a 4 guard lineup. He can board and, if able to stay out of foul trouble, can give you more than 30 minutes a game. He also showed some decent low post moves tonight, something we've seen a hint of in the past. As you highlighted at the beginning, it is interesting that the sophomore class contributed very little to a very entertaining win. Bartley hit two big treys, but Roby, Jolly and Reynolds did next to nothing. Also, Hines and Bishop seem to have a chemistry in the backcourt that is lacking when Reynolds and Roby come in. All in all, a fun win and I'm now intrigued.
  8. Yep, Majerus really needed to just let Dustin Maguire, Anthony Mitchell and Adam Knollmeyer loose on the league and watch them dominate. All while allowing Bryce Husak and Dwayne Polk to play under Sodie's system. That would have totally gotten Lisch to the tourney under his watch.
  9. Wait, what? They never saw him play in high school?
  10. In my humble opinion, some (most?) of these players may not be as devoid of talent as many believe. Sure, Jolly is a lost cause and Gillman is weaker than my 80+ year old grandmother, but many of the others probably could be decent A-10 level players with the proper coaching and direction. It seems like only Reynolds has actually played to the max of his abilities. Even Crawford could probably be a better overall player, especially defensively, if he had halfway-decent tutelage. But I feel like Roby, Milik, Bartley and Agbeko would all be far, far, far better under a different coach, and we wouldn't be talking about how woefully untalented the team appears to be. All we need to do is look at McBroom and Grandy. I know, they transferred to schools in smaller conferences. (Big Sky and WAC) However, they are possibly the best players on their respective teams. McBroom is averaging 19.4 points and 3.4 assists per game, while shooting 45.1% from three and 45.6% overall. Glaze is averaging 13.9 points and 7.4 rebounds a contest to go with a robust 63.5% shooting percentage. Is this current crop of SLU players good? Eh. But they could be a whole lot more productive, and compose a winning team, if they were coached properly.
  11. I love that not only did he work hard in school to get straight A's, but he also improved his conditioning immensely.
  12. When Stereotyping Goes WrongCheck your local listings for airtimes.
  13. I agree. I don't think anyone on this board would lob ignorant attacks at a player in Alcoholics Anonymous.
  14. Maybe PC means "pretty crappy"? That would be a safe PC target.
  15. Ahh, memories. I cringe looking back at some of these. While I could say I was right in stating that the job was Crews' no matter what, seeing me practically endorse him pains me now. Also, I love how near the end of the thread, ACE says Tanner Bronson could potentially be SLU's Brad Stevens. (I'm sure we all have dozens of posts we'd like to not be dug up.)
  16. Jebus Crikes, he nearly missed the backboard. I heard it on radio but couldn't have imagined it was that ugly. OK, who am I kidding, yes I could.
