  1. Yes, Bay Area, it looks as if the Bonnies really are going to Chaifetz Arena. WOW you get to see Jorden Gathers play - remember him - he's that talented young man that beat the Billikens in the A10 Conference playoff with a last second 3 point shot to win the game and eliminate St Louis from the playoffs. ( ouch ^&(^&%(I^*OO& JC that hurt ) ( Billiken to the Brown Indian " I'm sorry Mr Indian for all those mean things that our fans have said about you - they are rally uncalled for.) Go Bonnies
  2. With the A10 becoming stronger and stronger over the last few years, it seems as if all teams in the Conference are attracting more talented level of players. Even though Dukane's Ovie Soko was here for one season, he contributed to a - better quality - player in the league I'm all for parity in the A10, before you know it Fordham, Dukane and the Bonnies will be fighting for First place in Conference play.
  3. Good thing the Blues got that Goalie (Ryan Miller) from Buffalo but, I'm still rooting for the Olean Arrows - NYS Champs in the Pee-Wee Division Go Blues
  4. The Billikens play St Bonaventure in Otterville this winter! I LOVE IT. JUST CAN'T WAIT FOR OUR JUSUIT BIG BROTHERS TO ARRIVE. There is no other team in the A10 that we enjoy playing against. Go Bonnies
  5. I finally need to ask this stupid question, why would you evan want to leave the A10? By winning the A 10 or at least the Conference you get the automatic bid to the NCAA, You get to pick a tough OOC schedule, You get top recruits wanting to attend, I you guys have it easier than you think,,, don't look a gifted horse in the mouth!!!
  6. """ Butler freshman Berry to Bonaventure """ jeez, sounds kinda nice! And the Bonnies are looking for a somebody too...
  7. """ what other teams will be reloading like us, or which teams are young and upcoming? """ HERE COMES YOUR 2014-2015 ST BONAVENTURE BROWN INDIANS !!! Thank you very much, thank you!!
  8. GREAT WIN ! But, what "antics" did "BonaSchmidt" do? He's usually pretty calm on the side line.
  9. geez at least you guys know that your GOING to play in the NCAA ! You ought to happy about that !!!
  10. 3 hours ago • BY TOM TIMMERMANN [email protected] 314-340-8190 17 St. Bonaventure's Jordan Gathers shoots a 3-pointer at the buzzer to defeat SLU 71-68 in the Atlantic 10 Conference tournament at the Barclays Center in New York on Friday. (AP Photo) (1) More Photos RELATED LINKS Box score: St. Bonaventure 71, SLU 68 SLU TALK Tom Timmermann's blog: Billiken Beat BROOKLYN, N.Y. • St. Louis University's hopes of repeating as champions of the Atlantic 10 tournament came to a quick end on Friday afternoon, as St. Bonaventure's Jordan Gathers hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Bonnies a 71-68 win over SLU at the Barclays Center. SLU led by 13 in the first half and then fell behind by five in the second half before Dwayne Evans tied the game on a 3-point shot with 21 seconds to play. St. Bonaventure worked for the last shot and Gathers came off a ball screen to hit the game-winner. Gathers, a nephew of late Loyola Marymount star Hank Gathers, said he had never before made a game-winning shot. "When I let it go, I knew it was going in," he said. The loss was the fourth in the past five games for SLU (26-6), which had won 19 straight games before that. SLU now awaits the NCAA Tournament announcement on Sunday to see where it will go next. Mike McCall scored 21 points and Evans had 15 for SLU. Charlon Kloof and Matthew Wright each had 22 points for St. Bonaventure, which made seven of 12 3-point shots in the game. SLU was flummoxed by St. Bonaventure's 1-3-1 zone in the second half, and the Billikens committed 10 turnovers in the second half after committing just four in the first half. Jordair Jett finished with nine points, six rebounds, eight assists and six turnovers. He said after the game he would be fine after taking a hit to his groin on a drive to the basket in the final minute. Jett was on the floor in pain, and St. Bonaventure had a five-on-four advantage, when Wright hit a 3-pointer with 38 seconds left to put the Bonnies (18-14) up by three. After the game, SLU coach Jim Crews said: "I thought that the first half we played pretty well. I thought we ran well. We were sharp offensively. We did some good things defensively. We committed too many fouls in the first nine minutes, got them to bonus, but the last 11 minutes, we were really sound defensively. "I thought a little of a negative in the first half, though, was we kind of had it going our way and we took really quick shots when we were getting good results by just staying with the offense. "And then obviously we weren't very good the second half. When you give up 43 points like we did — we're not going to win from that standpoint. St. Bonny did a great job. They stayed with it." • BOX SCORE: ST. BONAVENTURE 71, SLU 68
  11. ABOUT THE BONNIES • St. Bonaventure enters Friday’s matchup 17-14 overall. It finished 6-10 in A-10 play. • Matthew Wright entered the A-10 Championship ranking fifth in the league in scoring and entered the tourney on a hot streak, averaging 19 points per game over the last 10 contests. • Youssou Ndoye averages 10.2 ppg and a team-leading 5.7 rpg. He has also registered a team-leading 68 blocks. • The Bonnies snapped a four-game losing skid with their win against La Salle. • Head coach Mark Schmidt is 105-109 in seven years at St. Bonaventure. He is 187-199 in 13 seasons overall. SERIES HISTORY • SLU leads the all-time series 11-4. The squads have never met in the A-10 Championship. Say UNCLE !!!
  12. Billiken to the Brown Indian: "would you please remove that Tommiehawk from my eye now". Go Bonnies
  13. The Wiz and Bay Area Bililken I really thing you've got something going here, quoting Bay Area "Georgetown would be better off in the A-10…..", . I thinking about an even trade, The A10 St Louis Billikens for the Big East Georgetown Hoyes. SLU can now play in a Conference that it really belongs in and Georgetown fits right in GW VCU Richmond the East Coast teams. It also means that the Hoyes would then up traveling to Otterville in order play the feared and dreaded Brown Indians of St Bonaventure! Iggy "Duquesne might be a solid 12th team for the Big East." Nope can't happen Bonas vs Duquesne goes back over 100 years. Its like an Ethnic Eastern European rivalry,,, one that must continued. Go Bonnies
  14. Once again the Billikens have a great team and a GREAT bench. You guys are Final Four material. And don't believe what the UMass fans are saying about you! This is off the UMass board regarding the A10 and the NCAA tournament: Posted: Thu Mar 06, 2014 1:05 am Post subject: So if the A-10 gets 6 teams in the NCAA's... Many of you know this. Each round, or unit, each team gets to allows the A-10 conference to receive $250,000 each year for 6 years. These are distributed evenly to every team in the conference. So that's about $1.5 million for each of the 6 teams over the life of the units. 6 units at $1.5 million = $9 million minimum for the conference over the next 6 years. For every round that a conference team advances, that's another unit for the conference. With a decent to above average performance, the conference could make $20 million for the next 6 years off of this year's tourney alone. Good stuff! WOW this is great news because now it looks like SBU WILL BE able to buy that milking machine AND a new hay bailer !!! Bonnies on the War Path -- See you in Brooklyn !
  15. WOW this post is just like Mild-School Mania! You even have a guy asking who the the "weakest link in the Team"? There isn't one even your bench is good. The Billikens have a great team this year. So what if, just what if, SLU loses its last two games of the season and doesn't win out at the A10? They will still go to the NCAA and have a GREAT chance of going to the Final Four. This year the A10 is a very very tough Conference. Best of luck against UMass.
  16. "Can't we just have a "laugher" for once....it has been a while." Hey Wiz looks like the joke is on you! And at home too ---- Ouch,,, will somebody please take that cane out of my eye! Also from the Wiz "Today's Trivia question" Who would I rather get beat by, the Bonnies or Dukane? And the answer is "a cellar dweller but an average team". Yep throw out Duq, the Bonnies and Fordham but, NOT to worry I'm sure that the Billikens will be moving on to the Big East (even thou they are in the Mid-West) or the ACC I do wish the Billikens good luck at the Big Dance !
  17. taj79 I've got a buy one get one free Big Mac coupon if you want to use that?
  18. Mason Fan welcome to the A-10 ! WOW you have a GREAT TEAM but, Loe draining those two 3's in OT was just a killer. And Jett had a great game also. Having the Bonnies play Mason on your home court is going to be real real tough. Hope you win one before we get there. This year in Brooklyn, even though SLU is at the top of the league, I think it is open to any team to win it. This has to be the strongest year ever even without X, Temple and Butler. Go Bonnies
  19. bonwich, thanks! The Bonnies caught Umass in the back ally and took it to them. There is A LOT of bad blood between the two teams and the schools, you know, Welders this and that The matchup between STL vs Umass is going to be a fight right down to the end. It should be great to watch Jett vs Caz "the little cry baby" Williams. But, here is were they might ding you, Putney, LaLaine and Echo. I just don't think the Billikens match up very well. I know very well how your Coaching Staff prepares for the games and I'm sure they will have films on the Bonnies win over Umass. Stopping the back-door pass for the easy bucket underneath and stopping Williams drawing the fouls will be key.
  20. John Severe the NY state player of the year went to Fordham in order to be closer to home. That is the only reason. The Bonnies were recruiting hard and actually thought he was going to chose Bonas. Brendan Frazier is a little b---ch. taj79 " A10 needs to "replace" Fordham, Duquesne and the Bonnies. " I disagree totally. St Louis came to the A10 crawling on their hands and knees begging to join our league. Don't worry, I'm sure that your team will bail out and you guys will be posting what a mistake it was because you can't beat Mizzou and all the rest of the teams in the new Sunset League. The A10 is an East Coast thing - stay out in the Mid-West were you feel more comfortable and don't have to travel to places unknown. St Bonaventure home of the Brown Indians
  21. Tough night for St Louis at the Reilly Center. Up by 8 with less than 4:40 left in the game the Bonnies fought to up-end the girls 62-60. The Billikens remain win less @ 0-4. http://www.slubillikens.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=27200&ATCLID=209379563
  22. taj79 WOW in the the years of dropping in on this forum I have NEVER seen you post such an in-depth and lengthy write up on any one team. This Bonas game must have sure impressed you some how, some way. " overall -- that crew SUCKED. " We all complain about the officials, I feel that Coach Schmidt's " sideline etiquette " showed the frustration or the discrimination that we face where ever we go. It wasn't THAT bad and RickMa did far worst. " The fuokign acting job Kloof pulled on every drive. Kloof threw an elbow at Jett's head with his free right hand while shooting with his left on one drive. " That Kloof is pretty good. He has learned a lot over the past few years, he just needs to put the rock in the hole a little more often. " I will give Schmidt credit, his game plan was to defeat the Bills by driving and then dishing to the guy vacated by the weak side help. " St Louis has a good team and that's all we can do is attack the rim. Bonas couldn't make a 3 point shot. brianstl " For what its worth, I think Schmidt is a pretty good coach. " THANK YOU. moytoy12 thanks for posting the Billikens post game interview with Coach Crews. In that interview and with the one with ESPN's Andy Katz, he tells just how tuff this St Bonaventure team is. We are very good but, have lost at the end of the games and need to make adjustments to pullout the wins. taj79 " I would not be fearful of this team in Brooklyn. " a jab intended at me - I just hope the rematch happens! And lastly, a Gilligan fan posted on your Bonas GDT that we belong in the MACC league? We're happy in the A10, aint going nowhere. You guys are the ones that want to move to a tuff Conference like the MVA or the Sunset League. We are the Brown Indians of St Bonaventure !!!
