    Now that all three of Coach's sons have graduated form Olean High School, two from Bonas and the last one still attending SBU, His days at Bonas will be coming to an end when he graduates. 

    Just hoping that this team will make it to the Big Dance and maybe a Sweet-Sixteen play-off igame is in the cards.

      It’s good to hear from you. Congratulations to your Bonnies. As Rick Majerus once said (after a close SLU home court win), “The Bonnies played a helluva game.” I’ll add to Rickma: Mark Schmidt coached a helluva game.

      Good luck vs. VCU a week from today and in the NCAA Tourney.  If you can somehow get into the NCAA Tourney, go. There’s nothing like it when your team’s in it.

    Schedule shows game day is Saturday February 6 @ 2:00 pm. Right now neither Olean nor the Twin Tiers of NY/PA is the place to go. mask up, wear ur gloves an keep ur distance. Stay safe.

    Maybe any and all A 10 play-off game should be played at Bonaventure. Its safe, easy to sequester Teams and Staff, makes economic sense, lots of GOOD food. All the convenances of home. Olean actually has electricity, cable TV, Internet access and CellPhone service. Have a Nice Day!

    And here comes the St Bonaventure University BROWN INDIANS ! ps if he cold weather doesn't get ya the Covid-19 virus will. The Tiwn Tiers Communities along the NY/PA boarder is getting hit hard. The SBU President has now contacted the Virus.

    To all of my Billiken friends, I have come to join your campfire and I have brought my Peace Pipe for us to enjoy! As all of you Historians know we are the " Keepers of the Western Gate " . And will continue that honor - PC Police back-off. As for rivals - let me put it this way - you guys don't think your poop stinks and nothing feels better than making you come to Otterville, only to go back home crying to your Mommies. OR when our Braves return victorius and your fans have lef the game at half-time. "Shades of Tyler Ralph" Your team comes to town and they are treated with respect until they take the court. Over the years your team has carried a few players that have made very racist comments to the fans at the game. SOO fowl that I will not repeat them here. He really should have done a couple of laps around the Rosary Beads for what he said! To COMPTON - people in glass houses should not throw stones. The SLU campus is located in such a lovely area of St Louis. This is where drive-by shootings occur on a nightly basis. Ya the Great Olean area is not a BIG CITY and that is why we all get along. We are David and you are Goliath 2020

    Here in the Beaver Den its a refreshing 19 degrees and it finally stopped snowing . Glad I traded my sleep Dog team for a Polaris Ranger! If I were a Billiken fan I would look at the Dayton and VCU highlights. I'm sure ur Coach Ford and the team will watch the tapes and see their weakness and capitalize on it. It's not Rocket science - the team that scores the most points by the end of the game is the Winner! And to all my Billiken Buddies thanks stay Healthy and Happy ! 2020 oh, ya, one last thing on this Bonas team - its depends on what team will show up and play a consistent 40 minutes. Game is on Stadium free

      I'm bringing my brown sweater to support the Bonnies in Brooklyn, unless the miracle happens, more so on our side, and we meet again on Sunday in the A10 Finals.

      As I probably told you, I grew up in Quincy, IL, home of the then Quincy College, now Quincy University, a fellow Franciscan school like St. Bonaventure.  The QU Hawks play in the high D-2 level Great Lakes Valley Conference.  I also grew up in St. Francis Solanus Parish, the gothic Church which is across the street from the QC (now QU) Campus, which had the Franciscan Priests/Friars.  When I was an altar server from 6th through 8th grades, the Priests were Franciscans.  The Franciscan Priests also handed out our report cards.

      I was previously told by a SLU Pep Band member that in a past A10 Tournament (I'm not sure if that is singular or plural), St. Bona asked and our SLU Pep Band allowed itself to be coopted as the St. Bona Band.  This must have been after SLU was eliminated, as usual.

      Note BAB (me) put that latest "study" of endowments and free throw percentage in blue (denotes sarcasm) and to poke some fun at the whole issue, including at myself.

      As for Dayton, if SLU has a rival, the biggest left in the A10 with SLU is Dayton.

      Dayton is known by SLU fans as SVU (Sweater Vest U).

      Dayton supporters think there is a vast Jesuit conspiracy against them, Dayton being a Marianist school.

    As the game was ending it came down to Coaching, Ford vs Schmitt. Looks like the teams are pretty evenly matched. By the way = the Billiken team, coaching staff and visitors are all well taken care of while here in the Enchanted Mountains. Go Bonnies

    I think you guys are over thinking this, For Bonaventure culture - it is a David vs Goliath thing. Your mind set is that you are a larger Jesuit School and therefore, you must be superior over the smaller Brown Robbed Friars. Nah aint gonna happen. Your a GREAT Catholic University, the players know it and they know just how much it means to the Bonnie fans to win and win and win. Olean is Small Town America and it feels very good considering what is going on in the World today. And it feels good in Olean with all of the locals Whooping it up at the Pulaski Club! I'm thinking our teams wills meet again in the Play-offs. Go Bonnies !

    no one in Olean is thinking past Davidson. Schmitt is also wrapped up in his son's Senior yr basketball at Olean High. This is small town stuff that makes this Area special. The winter is really bad this season.
