I was at the game and never heard any bull**** chants. I heard chants of 'bad call" but never anything profane. That Utah State chant is awesome Im suprised I never heard anything about it before

As for Smith I just dont think Xavier is a good match-up for him. Their bigs are to big for him to guard and their smaller guys are to quick. I really dont see a lot of guys on the Xaiver roster that Smith would of been able to match up with. I think he will be a nice contributer to the SLU program but at this stage in his career Majerus is looking to put him in winnable match-ups and I just dont think they were there last night

I normally cant stand Burwell articles. But it seems he has taken a genuine intrest in the Bills. He hopped on the band wagon a little later than I would like a local journalist to do but I welcome him a board. He may have screwed up some minor details but the casual fan doesnt know any better anyway and any pup is good pup. I saw him at the game last night and it was about the 4th or 5th game in a row he has been at. Like I said I normally dont even read his articles but its till nice to have a columnist covering the local team. Even Burwell can drum up intrest in the program.

agree Saturdays game is at 7 so its a perfect place to get good and sauced before hitting the bars and making poor descions

It was frustrating watching Willie. He made his first one of the night and then it all went downhill. The next two made about 3 rotations around the rim before finally spitting out And after that it just got ugly. With each miss his confidence sharnk and each miss was further off. I feel bad for the guy. He played a hell of a game and Im sure he is feeling pretty down about now.

Hopefully jordan Crawford doesnt see those and get flashbacks to throwing down on LBJ I dont think SLU has the pull that Lebron and Nike have to stop any posterizing from being shown

You mean John Stamos from "The Beach Boys: An American Family." The fantasstic made for TV movie/mini series that netted Mr. Stamos an emmy nomination as executive producer? He also had a guest starring role on the very under-rated Hanging with Mr Cooper.

I think it was Penn State. But I have no idea who they played. But you are right winnning the NIT is nice but just getting into the NCAA tourney would be much better.

And I think teams like SLU have to do even more to get in. When the NIT is picking teams they will take big name BCS teams before SLU If a team like UNC or Michigan is a few notches below SLU in the rankings they probably would still get the nod before the Bills

On a different note the team that the movie was based on, Milan High school, gave Oscar Robertson his only high school defeat in the state semi finals the year the "huskers" won the championship.

They are playing great but if some coach or writer votes them into the top 25 because of a win at UMASS they need to have their vote taken away. Beat Xavier and they will be getting close but some of the early season terrible losses will keep them out unless they do something spectacular

They were probably with the rest of the student body not going to games. But I agree that 05 doesnt deserve any of this krap. He did/does a great job especially when you think about the game when nobody was there. This is getting blown way out of proportion. SLU is like evey other sports team in the country. People show up when the team is winning. If a team continues to win people will continue to show up. When you take a fan base there are only so many die hard fans who show up even in the worst of time. The people on this board are the exception to the rule. Once a team starts winning is win the crowds start to grow. This is no different than the Blues, Rams, Mizzou, Austin Pea, Colgate or any team in any sport. Stop the bickering, put the egos aside, and enjoy the ride following a program that is on an upswing. And again 05 you do a great job keep up the good work.

I hope they are able to handle starting a half without trainling by 15.

I like when everybody bends down and jumps up I think it looks great But I think the stats may lie. Im pretty sure that every team shoots a worse FT % in the second half because of tired legs and more pressure. That being said I like it and hope you guys stick with it
