  1. Its to the point that Jeter's career is almost underrated. Every time his name comes up 90% of people will talk about how he sucks and he is the most overrated player of all time. He may have been overrated certain years but his overall career is beginning to be underrated.
  2. Since SLU cant make free throws they should just should them all left handed that game.
  3. T-Tan-as in im going tanning L-Lift-as in im going to lift weights R-Rape-as in once im bronzed and buff gals will be ok with me raping them As for God's gift if I met a person and they told me thier name was "god's gift" I would probably punch them in the face. So its probably better for me that he went some place else.
  4. College freshman are the second best ones. First being high school freshman. only a joke no need to call Chris Hanson on me
  5. I dont agree with the bolded part of your statement. First most college basketball fans today don't even know who Ed McCauley is the exception being the die hard SLU fans. second this kid will may end up being top 50 recruit, if he keeps developing he may end up being an All American. We may not like it here but to most people SLU is not a big time program. I think more people would be suprised to see him sign with SLU than sign some place else Third kids and grandkids of former players go to different schools all the time; Tim Hardaway-UTEP Tim Hardaway JR Michigan, Joe Dumars-McNesse State Jordan Dumars Michigan, Michael Jordan-UNC his kids; where ever the heck they are playing now, Doc Rivers-Marquette Austin Rivers Duke, Ralph Sampson-UVA Ralph Sampson 3.0 Minnisotta. If he decides to go to another school it may hit harder to the people on this board and the die hard fans but the rest of the nation wont even blink an eye. Now if he goes to a school like Dayton, or Rhode Island, or a MVC school some may take it as a slap in the face. As for the second part of your comment concerning Willie Reed I agree 100%
  6. Ive heard from an inside source that Pat Riley will be attending at least 7 home Bills games next year. 5 of those games he will be in section 108. If you get a chance try and mess his hair up. Unfortunately I don't see Cassity falling to the heat. No way he will slip past Indiana and Utah where the scrappy white guy is treated like a god. He will become a Jazz or Pacer legend much like Bo Hart, Stubby Clap, and Trip Cromer have become Cardinal legends here in St Louis.
  7. I have been told that he had on a pair of Miami boy shorts as well. My source tells me he it kind of looked like this, minus the long hair. Not suprised that the entire state of Indiana is all over him. The colleges in that state seem to thrive on talented white Dudes.
  8. IMO they will have a better season than last year. From quotes in the paper and sound bites on the radio it sounds like Anderson quit on the team and the team quit on Anderson. It sounded like English and Bowers had no intentions of returning to play for Anderson and both of thier games stopped developing under Anderson. I think they will be a lot better now that they are going to have to play with some type of discipline.
  9. Thats the first thought that popped into my head.
  10. Thats an odd rule. But rules are rules and he broke it. This part of the article is a little off. Haith didnt lose the top player in the state Anderson did. Anderson lost Beal, Young, and McLemore(kind of an in-state recuit) all of them rated higher than Porter.
  11. That's no more crazy than you penalizing Conklin for not being a small town midwesterner.
  12. Im sure Haith will see the benefit but the questions are if Haith will be able to talk Alden into getting him the game or if Haith thinks the negatives out weigh the benefits.
  13. I wasnt a big fan of the McGwire hire, not because he was "only" a homerun hitter or because of the PEDs, but because he didnt have any experince and because of the shat storm it was going to cause when he was orginally hired. That said blaming McGwire for the lack of hitting is nonsense. The Cards were one of only 2 teams in the NL last year who's offensive stats improved in 2010 from 2009. Now some of that has to do with having Holliday for a full year and the emergence of Rasmus, but still hitting was down from the year before in all of baseball except for in STL. This year and last year the Cards have been getting guys on they just cant get them in. That has a lot more to do with the manager than the hitting coach. Im a LaRussa fan but the last two years they have not been able to manufacture runs. The problem with this lineup is that after you get past the 5th spot in the order there is nothing there. From the 6th spot to the 1st spot in the order, you have nothing but slapp hitters who have almost no chance of getting an extra base hit. So when the 6th spot in the order comes up you need 4 hits just to score 1 run. With the non-existent extra base potential at the bottom of the order they can't put up any crooked numbers. With the disgusting bottom of the order, Pujols hitting into double plays at an amazing rate, and Holliday being out this team stands no chance. Holliday will come back and Pujols will be Pujols in a few days but IMO that still wont be enough. With 5 dead spots in the order any chance of abig inning is eliminated.
  14. I feel kind of dirty knowing that there is ratings on 6th graders.
  15. Well they never really got to the top of the hill so they only had to fall half way down it.
  16. Im not a big Soderberg fan but I agree with you on this. Im not sure how long it would of taken, if ever, for Romar to build up recruiting ties in the midwest and it was going to be nearly impossible for him to talk his west coast recruits into coming to STL. Romar is a heck of a coach and recruiter and seems to be really respected within his recuiting circle. I just don't know how long it was going to take for him to build those connections with kids wanting to play in the midwest.
  17. Really? How old is his son? Even if Tatum had him at 18 the kid wouldnt even be in high school yet. I dont really know how good of a coach/recruiter he would be but if at all possible I would like to see SLU go with a younger local kid who knows the area and can relate to the kids.
  18. I just doubt that Bonner would be intrested. If the Bills wanted to go with a former player with very little coaching experince I would rather have them a look at Justin Tatum. He didnt have the playing career Bonner had but at this point Im not sure that really matters. The kids that he will be recruiting werent even born when Bonner was playing. Tatum has done great work at Soldan and I would imagine has great ties with the local AAU and HS players. I also think he would have an advantage over Bonner in being closer to their age.
  19. Other people that would not live up to Roy's moral standards
  20. I wonder what English would think about Anderson if he had had the season every one expected of him. English started the year on the Wooden award final 50 and ended the year riding pine. Im curious if English didnt like playing for Anderson or didnt like how he played this year and confused the two.
  21. A Jacksonville St. Vs. SIU-C game would make last nights game look like the Showtime Lakers Vs. the MJ Bulls.
  22. I would take a starting line-up of 1. Magic Johnson 2. Scottie Pippen 3. Kevin Garnett 4. Dirk Nowitzki 5. Tim Duncan Pippen is only 6'8'' but the rest are all at least 6'9. With how athletic these kids are today it isnt to suprising to see a 6'8'' guy be able to handle the ball and play a point forward type position. A lot of these coaches like to fill out the roster with long, lean, quick athletic guys. Porter isnt coming here and he isnt going to shy away from competition.
  23. Bernie talking about the game today said it was worse than watching a SLU vs. St. Joe game. Then said it made a bad A-10 game look exciting. I can't really argue with him but I was suprised to hear him take the unnecessary shots at the local team and a good basketball conference.
  24. I think part of the problem is a lack of solid D1 players. Not the super stars but the guys who will start off slow but be nice contributors by their Junior and Senior seasons. STL seems to produce either top 50 recruits or fringe D1 guys. I cant blame a top 50 kid for choosing a Kansas, UNC, Flordia or KY over SLU or Mizzou. Kids see those programs and see it as a way to get extra exposure for their next step, the NBA. What both schools need to do is lock up the kids who decide to go to the Minnesota's, Washington's, and Iowa's. When a kid chooses to go to a iconic basketball school there isnt a lot you can do to change his mind, but both schools need to be able to out recuit and land the local talent that is leaving for schools with a limited basketball pedigree.
  25. If KM JB and MM can light it up from 3 and if JJ and KM can get to the basket to create their own shots or dish for open shots down low the inside game should be good enough on offense. The guards the Bills have are good enough to put up 50-55 points a game so as long as CE, CR, and RL can contribute some what on offense that side of the ball should be OK. What worries me is the inside game on the defensive end. If we see a repeat of this year and they cant stop anybody we are in trouble. But if the bigs can rebound and make the other team struggle to score inside it could be a great season. Hopefully durring the offseason the bigs get bigger, stronger, meaner, and learn to be intimidating forces on the deffensive end if they are able to do this I like our chances heading into the season.
