  1. They couldn't even get the schedule right at Chaifetz last night. In the first half they were announcing that the next game was on Friday, not Wednesday.
  2. There is free pizza. The students will be there.
  3. Timmerman just reported that CR is unlikely to play with a knee sprain.
  4. I completely understand why you'd feel that way and if I were in your place I'd probably feel the same. But from my experience, which is in the business world and not law, most HR people know that SLU is a good (not great) school. They are mostly ignorant to the rankings. Unless you are talking about an Ivy league school, their alma mater, or the University of Phoenix; not a lot of weight is given to where you went to school, just THAT you went to school. Especially once you are in the door. After that it's all about what you do, not where you've been. Not trying to say the rankings don't matter. Just that there is a limit to how useful they are in some fields.
  5. Yes we should, but that doesn't mean that a bunch of teachers who are primarily concerned about protecting their tenure are right that Biondi isn't the right guy for the job. These arguements are happening all over the country. SLU student protesting one damn thing or another had been going on for decades, I can think of 3 or 4 that happened just before and during my undergrad ('99-'03). Don't assume that this situation has to be as dramatic as some are making it out to be.
  6. The PAC-12 network is only about 2 months old. I would think it will start popping up in sports packages before long. Maybe not in time for the UW game but we'll see.
  7. As of now 23 of 30 games are scheduled to be on tv somewhere (ESPNU, FSM, CBS college, NBC sports, PAC-12 network). -Only 3 conf games not on TV -Only 2 away games not on TV Not perfect but much better than past years. Wonder if the NHL lockout helped.
  8. Just was browsing around and came across an article on www.soccermadeinstlouis.com Apparently the current iteration if the MISL is working with Daryl Doran to try and put together a new franchise for StL. Doran feels Chaifetz would probably be the best venue for a new team. He also says that Chaifetz is asking for something in the 15-18k range per game for rent. Could at least be a decent revenue stream for SLU if it happens.
  9. Sorry wrong the press release does say, "A10 sponsorship rights and digital rights to games not selected by the national partners, both of which were incorporated in previous agreements, are NOT include in the new deals, giving the league flexibility in its active discussions to determine future platforms for its inventory." HUGE
  10. A10 website has details. -8 year deal -14 ESPN family games (as far as I can tell this is the same as the current deal) -25 CBS College Sports games -25 NBC Sports games -ESPN/CBS for tourney final -CBSCS for tourney semis -NBCSN for tourney quarters No mention of what it means for local rights or online service.
  11. If Dr C isn't pleased with Crews and Whitesell as choices I'm sure they will look elsewhere.
  12. You are the one to lecture anyone about that.
  13. Thank you sir. With logic like that I am now sure you don't know what you are talking about. I now think its just as likely to be a major road opponent announcement as a Majerus health issue.
  14. SLU ranked #216. 3rd to last in A10. Behind every single team in the MVC. Just for those who think we're even close to being viewed as a 'program'.
  15. He also mentioned that all seniors are on track to graduate. Though CE might need some extra classes.
  16. Already a solid A10 center? That's a dubious statement. Or maybe it just doesn't say much for the A10. 5 points (primarily from outside shooting, 3 rebounds, and 1ft attempt per game on average. Sounds like a small forward more than a center to me. I see the potential. But it's too early to say he's already there.
  17. Still no polo shirts. What are those of us who have to work "business casual" supposed to do?
  18. While our 4-year average is now 923. The 2010-2011 score was 945. You would this this past school year was at least good as 2010-2011.
  19. Timmerman had some schedule related tweets today. Mostly restating what is above along with the conference schedule. There was no mention of Edwardsville. He also said Santa Clara may be coming here as one of the other 2 CBE games. In conference play: Dayton, VCU, Rhody, UMass, Charlotte, St Joes, Lasalle, Butler here Xavier, Temple, Richmond, St. Bonnie, Dusquene, Fordham, GW, Butler on the road.
  20. So this is all I've seen/heard about so far. Please correct me where I am wrong. In no particular order: New Mexico @Washington @Stanford SIUC Loyola Marymount Eastern Ilinois SIUE Santa Clara 4 CBE related games including 2 of (Kansas, Texas A&M, and Washington St) 16 A10 games By my count there should be three other non-conference games. We'd better get the Kansas game. Otherwise our OOC strength of schedule will be primarily based on how strong the PAC-12 is next year.
  21. I do believe the "catholic conference" could happen somday though it will never have that name. I also doubt ND would be included. SLU should be more concerned with linking up with Marquette, Depaul, Georgetown, Villanova, and St. John's. Andy Katz has said that Georgetown is the nexus to the BE basketball schools. As long as they want to stay, they'll all stay. And apparently as of right now, they aren't really considering leaving.
  22. Maybe it will be some of the Big East's bball schools joining the A10 instead of the other way around.
