  1. Maybe he could have done without the Mercedes-benz tatoo on his neck and put that money towards paying his rent? I don't know, I was never considered tough and cool. Alden has to be anxiously waiting for football season to start back up so that people can move on from the storm that is the basketball program.
  2. Not sure I would call the teams they had with Mike Anderson and Haith's first season thugs. I am not sure who currently on their team I would call a thug either beyond maybe Criswell and possibly this Price kid depending on what the story is. I guess Oriakhi and Criswell last season played a little thuggish, but Oriakhi did not come across as a thug and Dixon got in trouble, but that seemed to be him being a sexual deviant. Their teams the past two seasons have been selfish and soft which is what has completely killed my interest in the program along with the constant transfers in and out, but for me it is not because I perceive them as a team of thugs. If anything Haith has put together the fundamentally dumbest team in college basketball and for that he should be proud based on what he started with.
  3. Well, it may not take long for Mizzou to become a typical SEC program merely focused on football at the rate Haith is making the basketball program impossible to support and irrelevant. This makes it easier for me as a fan of both programs, I can now support Mizzou in the fall and SLU in the winter as I finally did this season and not waste any time or money on that clown show Haith is orchestrating.
  4. There were also some things that we do as a team that could be scouted. I think the lack of bench and ability of teams to scout us led to our struggles.
  5. They are both at Montrose Christian. Doby is committed to DePaul.
  6. They decided to transfer after McCormack was fired (Patrick's dad was an assistant for McCormack and took the head coaching job at Trinity) and ultimately ended up at Montrose Christian in Maryland after being unable to play immediately at Trinity (at least I think that is how it went down).
  7. Likely would have been the most athletic player though. Having watched that kid fly down the court on fast breaks and throw down vicious dunks numerous times, I am not sure we have anybody with that sort of athletic ability. Definitely a high major athlete. I am interested to see how he does at Texas and how he is utilized. CBC would have been stacked with Doby and McCaw on that roster in addition to Barnett, Barnes, and Willis, but they seemed to have some chemistry issues last season with those guys. Not sure Willis is a BCS player, but we will see. I think Barnes will get there, but he has some work to do. Tyler Cook from Chaminade is another kid in that class that will be of interest this summer and his junior season. I am on the fence whether he is someone we should offer.
  8. Interesting, when I saw him play he did not play inside, he played as a wing offensively. The only time he was in the paint was penetrating off of the dribble. Maybe he started to play more inside late in the season.
  9. Barnett is an interesting player to me and I am really curious to see how he does at Texas. He is a tremendous athlete and would have been the best athlete on SLU's roster this year. The kid can fly in transition and throw down some sick dunks. However, when I have seen him he seems to prefer playing on the perimeter and not necessarily dominating in the paint when physically he has the length and leaping ability to do so at the high school level. He seems like a kid with a lot of upside based on his length and athleticism, but looks a little soft to me. He plays like more of a small forward/wing than a power forward.
  10. But does Dayton play three athletically limited centers? Their depth appears to me to be fairly versatile players with length and athleticism. They seem to have a group of guys that can play guard/forward allowing them to play different matchups.
  11. Except Dayton's roster is primarily athletic guards and forwards. I think Dayton's only true center that plays significant minutes is Kavanaugh. I am extremely impressed with the number of guards/forwards they run out there and they all seem athletic and capable of making plays and hitting shots from the perimeter. With that group (Gillman, Jolly, Berry, Lancona, Agbeko, and Welmer) we would seem rather unathletic at the 4/5 and Gillman, Jolly, and Berry sound like fairly similar players. I guess you have 13 scholarships, so if we did add him it would create some competition with one of those guys likely being the odd man out. I personally would like to see us upgrade our length and athleticism at the 3/4 with some hybrid guards/forwards. Jordan Barnett from CBC based on skillset would have been a good fit for what I would like to see us add (not saying he will be a star, but that type of player).
  12. Why is that? Not arguing, just curious. Based on appearance Tanner Bronson seems like the most important of our assistant coaches.
  13. It may be a little soon to say there has been a culture change. At this point we hit on a couple of recruiting classes and they led us to heights never witnessed in the history of the program. I think the coaches that recruited those kids are all gone at this point. For there to be a culture change we will need to keep that momentum going and consistently win at a high level like a Xavier or Gonzaga. Just look at programs like SIUC who have had a nice string of success, but could not continue it. We will find out over these next couple of seasons whether we have truly turned the corner or were just a flash in the pan thanks to a couple of great classes.
  14. At this point it is near impossible for me to have any idea what to expect from the team next season. We will rely almost entirely on guys that we have not seen play in the role they will be asked to play. On paper there are some promising additions and some of the young guys showed positive signs in really limited playing time, but we won't really know until we see these kids play.
  15. Ash averaged 2.9 points a game as a sophomore, is it reasonable to expect him to become a big scorer for us? If Agbeko leads us in scoring I will seriously question why he didn't play at all this season, but injuries could be the obvious answer. Although with what we are losing, everyone will have a chance to compete for substantial roles and the points have to come from somewhere. I am interested to see where the points come from next fall. The recruiting class looks real solid on paper, but not sure any of them are scorers.
  16. Interesting. I wish I could have that same optimism.
  17. We shall see, wouldn't bet on any of that.
  18. Sounds like Michael Porter out of Columbia, MO is having a monster freshman year: Eric Bossi ‏@ebosshoops 2h Heading into district play the previously tweeted about Porter was averaging 28.3 points and 9.9 rebounds per game. Eric Bossi ‏@ebosshoops 2h Star freshman Michael Porter of Columbia (Mo.) Father Tolton with 62 points and 25 rebounds over last two games of districts. I don't know much about this website (Future 150), but it has Michael Porter #3 and Jeremiah Tilmon #17 in its class of 2017 rankings: http://future150.com/jr/basketball-rankings/2017/
  19. Then stop replying back to them. If you didn't care you would stop responding to them.
  20. Can we get more tv time for that cheerleader? Holy smokes, well done VCU.
  21. Good post. I find the Wiz's post game analysis laughable, really oversimplifies things with his post game thoughts where he tries to prove the accuracy of his prediction. Also, who needs to be told that had me made one more three we would have scored three more points?
  22. CBC has 7 losses on the season, but only one of those was to a local team (the second meeting with Chaminade). Chaminade dropped from the top spot after losing to McCluer North. I was looking at the state playoff bracket and Chaminade and CBC are on different ends of the bracket. Chaminade/Columbia Hickman would make for a fun semifinal game. I am not sure where to find state rankings, but I know Columbia Hickman is a really tough team led by junior Jimmy Whitt.
  23. Yeah, hit 1,000 on a game icing 3 to send us to Dallas! That seems like his style.
  24. I completely agree. Frank just said at this point he would be stunned if Jayson left the state.
  25. The better team this year and last. Not sure that makes SLU the better program.
