  1. Doesn't anyone consider it possible the DA determined the players were telling the truth? If the DA thought the alleged victim was right and just couldn't prove it, she wouldn't have issued that statement. She would have let this sit for a while to see if one of them gets nervous and decides to flip. She thinks the players are telling the truth. Thats why the statement was issued. To lay this to rest.
  2. Maybe the players are telling the truth and no laws were broken. In any event this is a done deal as far as the DA is concerned. I suspect the DA thinks the players were wrongfully accused and made the state to put an end to this.
  3. Hard to believe that three of our guys could collectively be that stupid.
  4. He's just trying to scrounge a little beer on spring break and he was polite, offering to party with the guy. Sounds like the only thing he forgot was to run.
  5. From what I've read in the last few years all of our current players have no history of getting into trouble. If all that is accurate and these are the "good kids" they have been portrayed as, this may be more of an alcohol induced "misunderstanding" which can be pretty dicey in this day and age, but still damn tough to prosecute. Hence, based on the little info available and a few assumptions about college age behavior, I don't see a great likelihood of charges. No charges and it all blows over. Perhaps with gale force winds, but it does blow over. So lets wait to see if there are charges. If this is a situation where everyone agrees who had sex with who and the only issue is consent I would suspect the investigation is complete assume they would present this to the prosecuting attorney's office today. If we make it through the day without charges that would be a good sign. However, if consent isn't the only issue they may have gather DNA and run tests, this could go on for a few weeks until we know.
  6. I read somewhere he had negotiated a $2.5 million early termination fee he would recieve if he was terminated before his $900,000 per year deal was up. I'm not sure how many years he had left, but that would be tempting to stick around for. Do you think Creighton is paying him $900,000 per year?
  7. JS has a knack for getting to the ball. Thats quickness and intincts that can't be taught. If he can improve his man to man defense and develope a shot away from the basket he could be in our top 5. I hope he sticks around and works at it.
  8. The stewardess to passenger ratio is always at leats 2 to 1 on that jet. He wouldn't be able to maintain that ratio with all the players and coaches. You wouldn't want "The Dude" to lower his standards, would you?
  9. I bet he's making more than $133,000. Wasn't that one of Majerus's conditions in taking this job, he wanted a promise they would pay the assisants enough to hire good ones. That and charter flights......maybe PM should reconsider......
  10. What was his injury this time? If he's not going to be fully healthy until the beginning of next season it must have been pretty serious.
  11. Grawer already had he lined up when he was fired. I remember him talking on the radio saying they expected to bring in a 22 year old player who could help right away, but it wasn't a juco. He couldn't mention his name because he hadn't signed yet. Spoon still got him to come, but Grawer already had him convinced.
  12. Of all the players that came here this season, I thought Crawford was far and away the best. I hope he returns, but I think he can make the leaque next year if he chooses.
  13. I wouldn't do it unless I got an immediate raise and got the rest in writing. I don't think Biondi will do that. If Porter leaves I bet RM will try to bring in Jim Crews as his new associate head coach. He was fired at Army and RM was talking him up about how good a coach he was and how hard it is to succeed at Army. I don't know if they could pay him enough, but RM would love to have him.
  14. Yes. This board frequently values the players to come over the players on hand. JJ put up just as big numbers in high school as McCall. There's a big adjustment from high school to D1. Some guys make it better than others. JJ improved as the year progressed and could be the best 3 point shooter on the team. He's quick, but out of control. If he improves next year and gets under control he could be better than McCall. Hopefully McCall's a superstar and shines from day one, but he may not be and an improved JJ could end up the better player. We've all heard plenty of hipe about plenty of players that come in and don't live up to high expectations so don't discount JJ's value yet.
  15. His game was never close to NBA level when he was here. He may have been an NBA prospect if he worked hard and vastly improved his game. That didn't happen and it wasn't RM's fault. RM doesn't hold players back.
  16. Everyone hopes McCall is better than JJ, but its not a given. JJ had just as impressive numbers in high school and may end up being the better player. Lets let them compete and see what happens.
  17. I bet JJ thinks he'll play a lot of minutes next year. He had better numbers than McCall in high school and now has a year of experience under his belt. I'm sure he expects competition and expects yo win it. McCall taking his minutes isn't a give. JJ has talent and the best 3 point shot on the team. His defense improved tremendously. For the first time I can remember we have a roster full of players who can contribute. Who will get the minutes isn't set in stone. It will depend on what improvements each makes in the off season.
  18. He needs to jump to make it a threat so his man has to come out and guard him. The guy can elevate and with those long arms ought to be able to get off a true jump shot against most defenders. That threat would open up the middle for a pass to Willie or to use his quickness to go by his man and take it to the hole. He has big time potential. He just needs to work on his skills. Strength would help, but the skills are far more important.
  19. I've yet to see JS shoot a jumper. When he squares up he shoots a set shot. He can do a jump hook close to the basket, but I've yet to see what looks like a classic jump shot where he actually jumps. Thats the number one thing he needs to develope. Seems like he ought to be able to, he has all the tools.
  20. It can't be official until he signs a LOI. Spring signing period hasn't started yet. I assume you mean he verballed. Where did you hear it?
  21. Having more players to take away minutes will be a good thing. Playing fewer minutes will improve both KM and KC and have they fresher during at crunch time. Its tough to play an effective last 5 minutes when you've been on the court practically the whole game.
  22. Kyle was over exposed this year. He was exhausted chasing the other teams best scorers all game with very little rest. That takes away from the offensive part of his game. Playing fewer minutes will make him a more effective player offensively and defensively.
