Every year I think more and more that they select/seed the teams purely based on $$$$$$ rather than who's deserving.

This is true, I should have phrased it that that point forward idea needs to go. I think the players are talented and are only doing what they're taught to do.

He has a lot of talent but really needs to drop this idea of being a point forward.

Chaminade truly is the best basketball team in the state.

Drawing fouls, getting to the FT line, and making them is good basketball. Commiting fouls and putting your opponents on the FT line is bad basketball. It's really not any better than last year. Bartley and Roby have regressed from their freshman to sophomore seasons, something that should be impossible. The team is 8-27 against A10 teams in the past 2 seasons. I like some of the young guys but it is not happening under this staff. At this rate the team will be mid-pack in the A10 at best when these guys are seniors. It's amusing how the guys who were run off by the staff are doing better than the guys that were kept. Crews has to go.

Only about 25 schools pay 2M+ for a basketball coach, nearly all of them are huge state schools in power conferences. If Dr C is really embarrassed by these results and really feeling generous, along with the recent NCAA credits, then maybe we can pay 1.2-1.5M. To increase it past that, I don't know where that extra 3-6M is going to come from.

I'll be a party pooper. With an RPI of 55, they have no shot at getting an at large bid. If you think the power conference bias is bad on the men's side, it's much worse on the women's side. A Western Kentucky women's team was once left out with an RPI of 19. They need a much tougher non-con schedule though.

Barring an absolute miracle in Brooklyn, he can't be back next year. It's a totally obvious decision. The fan base agrees basically unanimously. I don't think Chaifetz, Pestello, and May are complete morons. I like that SLU can consistently pay 800k+ for a basketball coach. Some good young coaches will come here for that salary, hopefully King Rice or Russell Turner. But they can't do what they did with the Soderberg firing, waiting until after the spring recruiting period to make the change. They threw away an entire year of building in that situation. Depending on what happens in Brooklyn, the decision needs to be announced by Monday the 14th at the latest.

I read it. I don't see the problem if some posters on a message board thought the team/year/whatever would be improved. I'm one of these posters who expected improvement so I'm curious.
