I did some thinking about these first few games: I think Ford is too lenient with is team. We need much more quick screen set ups and we do not steal nearly as much as players as fast as our should. Let’s hope the sample is too small and Jake Forester starts to catch those zinger passes from Perkins and Collins. We could have a special team if they start working hard

Tough to get going when we are down without Fred That Jr enthusiasm- We need to get back to rebounding and improve our steals attempts per game

Umass survives 71-69 over Murray state

Teams have to prepare for us with Perkins as a threat- and he is. if he has an ankle issue or a cold why beat him up

I thought use of our personnel was very wise. I hope to see Parker more same for Hargrove but not at the expense of taking Jimmerson out. Perkins will be fine for second semester- I would save him for games not so thug like. Parker has a beautiful jump shot and quietly can make his way for layups. Uri Collins needs help- just someone to pay attention in case he needs to pass or pass the ball back if being pressed. It was a good test VCU and some others probably took notes on game films.

Pleasant surprise Yuri Collins with 21 although he started a little rough at the free through line. Both he and his teamates need to be more supportive when there is pressure at the time line.

Okoro was solid toward end of game

There are always people who avoid the exit crowd and listen in the car if possible-even at the opera

Hope he doesn’t want bat first and play center field since Dylan Carlson kind of faded into obscurity this year

At pregame drills he looked like he was changing his body to basketball lean- the heavy look had to slow him down. I hope he keeps his desire to improve

Yuri is only going to get better as a shooter if he keeps putting shots up. His oases get legit because the defense has to guard for his shot. No one complained at how bad Jordan Goodwin’s stats in shooting were- because he rebounded many of his own shots. The total game of a player has to be considered. Yes, we played better during the Thatch time. as coach said first half the ball bounced away from us. I sure hope Forester learns how to catch zinger passes from Perkins and Collins. No since in running to basket if are not looking to be fed the basketball Perkins and Jimmerson were our game: my biggest disappointment of first two games is Sincere Parker not being found for open shots. We have three very talented shooters on this team and about eight other very hardworking team mates. The entre team works the hardest of Travis Ford’s era. we have more talent than the Majerus teams we should be in for a real treat this year. It is no longer possible to say first team to 59 wins. I think we will average 85 points a game and think this team has an upside that we have not witnessed as SLU fans.

Let’s hope to see 20 plus points from Siincere Parker, Perkins, Jimmerson each and another 40 spread among Picket, Okoro and others

If Perkins Parker and Jimmerson average 2 assists per game we will be improved. Jimmerson had a steal and at least two assists against UMSL and rebounded- it was a very good effort almost looked like he was protecting his minutes against a very hot Parker

Pre season it seemed Coach TF mentioned Perkins would als get minutes running team at point

How long before players who have been played for money in international leagues come back and play at university level if they did not use up their eligibility or never started college? It would seem if everyone can pay players- the whole must be an amateur status should be history

We don’t need a former bagman from Memphis or MO.-even if the age of NIL has become pay for play

I will be happy to see Pickett, Perkins, Hargrove, and several others get the Nesbit minutes. It was often like Nesbit was out there by himself- passes went astray to and from- just some flow issue I could not get comfortable that he knew the plays- he had athleticism- I think if we had him out of high school he may have blended in better with summer school- that ship has sailed

Travis Ford is committed to playing fast and you can see the Bigs he recruits can all run we will be an up tempo team and our PPG will be better as we will have better shooters on the floor. Linssen is a loss as he was a starter, let’s hope the new Bigs give us that quality of work.

Players being recruited would really have to buy in as few would be setting records or making the pro circuit notice them with 10-15 minutes each

The second big needs to be more intimidating than FO. We do need someone good enough to take minutes from Okoro. I like FO but I don’t think he gives us what Conklin did…different skill sets

Just like Linssen we need a big not content to give up minutes to Okoro- it would not hurt if someone like Conklin could teach the bigs to be barriers to the paint area

It is about playing time

I would like to see Conklin join our coaches and recruit for us

Don’t you realize coaches don’t feature guys you are not cutting it in the classroom and who will never graduate from SLU
