  1. Does anybody know where things stand academically? Is he set to graduate this year or is going for a masters or anything? Seems to me that he won't be in a position to play pro ball anywhere until next fall given the rehab that's needed and I have to think he'd be in a better position for that (whether its here or overseas) after an A-10 POY season.
  2. St. Charles tax dollars hard at work. https://fhhstoday.com/2646/archive/howell-celebrates-new-building/
  3. We certainly do this towards the end of games. I get doing that when you have a double digit lead with less than 4 minutes to go. Just not before then. We are just so much better when Yuri is pushing the ball up the floor quickly.
  4. Yep. Wiley at least had some very good moments earlier on in 2019. Williams has done nothing.
  5. That's fair, but I don't think Williams has once looked the part and every time he's in the game he chucks it up like's Gibson Jimerson or something. Strickland at least could potentially have a future here and I'm much more interested in what he can do with some minutes than Williams.
  6. My issue with Williams is why play him in that type of game instead of Strickland who still has 3+ years of eligibility? Unless Strickland just isn't very good.
  7. Not sure what UK's policies are, but their attendance was down 28% at one point earlier this year. https://www.courier-journal.com/story/sports/college/kentucky/2021/12/09/kentucky-basketball-attendance-rupp-arena-down-28-homestand/6445649001/ Sports attendance is also down nationally this past year and many sports fans say they aren't comfortable attending. Secondary ticket sales for NHL and NBA also dropped more for teams with vaccine/negative test mandates. https://morningconsult.com/2021/12/21/nba-nhl-attendance-down/ Some of it could be the COVID policies, but some of it is also just people being cautious/scared.
  8. It may be higher now, but second place resulted in a $350 savings bonds 7 years ago.
  9. Maybe, maybe not, but it strongly reduces the chance that the person next to you has COVID. Impact on attendance will be nominal.
  10. I think it's mostly about not wanting to cannibalize their West County location with another one in St. Charles, and also the Metro East not having enough population to support one. So try and draw from both sides of the river with a centrally located one that has good highway access and visibility. The bigger story here may be about the university's willingness to divest many of its land holdings. Definitely a change in policy from the prior regime.
  11. When I say relatively cheap, I'm speaking relative to other key large sites in Midtown. The price will be good, but not nearly what it would be if the site was north of I-64 closer to CORTEX. I'm sure they wanted the site at Grand/Chouteau, but the university wants something more transformational there, plus the land price would be much higher than the site at Chouteau/Compton.
  12. Most TG locations are suburban, but there are some urban examples.
  13. Where else can you find 10+ acres of relatively cheap land that can attract both Missouri and Illinois residents?
  14. The refs were terrible, but if it weren't for many of the ridiculous charge calls, I'd say they helped us since Boise couldn't hit a free throw.
  15. Nesbitt's shot was off last night and he made a few bonehead plays (like trying to draw a foul from the defender instead of dunking it during a fast break), but he was a key player on defense and on the boards. His one block, steal, and pass up the court on transition was a thing of beauty.
  16. Gibson can't really create for himself, which makes it hard to see it being him. All his shots are either off the pass or a few dribbles after a guy closes on him at the 3 point line. Nesbitt may be the answer in 2 months, but we'll see. There may be some benefit to having this arrangement as long as Yuri can handle it. I often think teams go iso too early and/or too much late in games. I understand wanting your best player to take the shots down the stretch, but seems like offenses don't work nearly as well when they do. Keep running your offense that you've run for the prior 36 minutes of the game.
  17. Don't really have one. It's Yuri trying to create for someone else. He takes the shot if everyone else is covered.
  18. He's not the beast that French was and he doesn't have the same low-post moves, but at least he can hit a free-throw.
  19. I've got 4 free second row tickets for tonight's game. PM me if interested.
  20. Depends on the grade of the tear, but I'm hoping it's just an MCL tear/strain. He could be back playing at pretty much full speed in a month.
  21. You’re almost there. Just replace your irritation with having to continue wearing a mask despite having done the right thing and switch it to the vaccine or negative test requirement, which would make the decision much easier for parents or seniors. I’d much rather they have a vaccine mandate over the mask mandate. It comes down to placing the “freedoms” of those who choose not to get vaccinated for often ridiculous reasons above the health and safety of those who have responsibly chosen to do so, but have to remain vigilant because they’re seniors, have health concerns, or are ineligible for the vaccine. These types of policies put the needs/wants of the irresponsible over those that have less choice in the matter and it’s not right. As you said, “let them bear the brunt.”
  22. This is a good post, but I fundamentally disagree that people's decisions are being made for them here. Unvaccinated people don't have to go to Billiken games. Vaccine mandates for sporting events are the carrot, not the stick.
  23. I don't think we should demand the same of a 5 or 7 year old as an adult, but that's just me. I also don't think vaccines are health safety theater. The health checks, spray-downs, and half-mask wearing are, but vaccines are clearly not.
