  1. Obviously, since Stalin was Jesuit educated, he couldn't possibly do anything wrong, immoral or unethical.
  2. AS far as bringing in players in devious fashion, you might want to do so some research on his time at Ball State.
  3. Careful. The Jesuits were mighty pissed at Galileo for this theory. There may still be some at SLU in denial.
  4. Does anyone know how much Majerus actually makes per year? It it $1MM per year guaranteed or is it some lesser number plus incentives that he may not, as yet, be collecting? After seeing the coaching salaries structures, there can be a big difference.
  5. It surprises me that Mizzou paid for the use unless your coach got them a deal. They're investing a lot in the baseball program already. They're continuing to update their baseball park (Taylor Stadium). This year they're adding new locker rooms, coaches offices, indoor and outdoor batting cages, more seating and a new scoreboard and video board. Their long-range plan for a "sports park" seems to be coming true.
  6. This has reached the point where Anderson is being offered more than Calhoun or Izzo if the numbers are correct. At what point do you have to say "Good Luck"? Missouri is already paying the football coach $2.3MM.
  7. No need to apologize. I just thought you might have an easy link. Thanks.
  8. The Illinois campus does. I mentioned on another board that it smelled like pig sh!t and was told it was actually cow dung by an Illini fan. I was just responding to an Illini fan post. They're well aware they stink.
  9. I will have to say that SLU keeps their transgressions out of the news, at least until they're out of school.
  10. Mills had a great assist/turnover ratio at 10:1. However, his 3 point shooting was the reverse, 1 for 10. Ouch. Curry shot about the same with no free throws taken. Curry had 5 assists and 6 tournovers. Ouch again. How tall is Mills? He doesn't look big enough. We''ll see.
  11. Good to see you keeping close tabs on Mizzou. Possible convert? Mike Anderson could most certainly leave and if Missouri couldn't find a coach with a similar style, it would be a major setback - especially with a couple of very good recruits coming in next year which won't be so hot anyway. However, he has gotten Missouri back in the limelight in a good way so attracting a good coach won't be as difficult. If Alabama offers the reported $2 Million, he's most likely gone since Mizzou's best number is supposedly $1.5 MM. But no need to worry about that now. I'm sure a new contract proposal is underway whether it's good enough or not. Besides we're 30-6 in the Sweet 16 with another tough game Thursday. Football won 10 games, Wrestling just finished 7th in the country. Baseball just took 2 out of 3 from 3rd ranked Texas A&M. Womens Softball and Gymnastics are both ranked in the top 25. It's a great time to be a Tiger!!
  12. Actually, you're correct for a change. I'm not listening - I'm reading. And, as usual, you're replacing fact with your opinion. The story of the tournament was Memphis giving the championship away to Kansas and, yes I know, Memphis is not a BCS school. They spend, recruit and play like a BCS school and guess what, they're in the tournament evey year on merit. You need to get out of your parochial bent where you think NCAA basketball revolves around your wishes. It's big business.
  13. Well, as usual, you're seeing the everything through your mid-major eyes. Actually, the first few rounds could be totally eliminated and the tournament would still be great. Fill up the first few days with Valparaiso-SLU or Saint Marys-North Dakota State and all those fans you're talking about will be watching the World Series of Poker re-runs. You had better have plenty of BCS qualifiers or the tournament won't be worth watching and the advertisers and CBS know that.
  14. I don't think the majority on here want to here that.
  15. Marquette is very good - even with Dominic James out. most recent losses to Uconn, Pitt, Louisville, Villanova. if Missouri doesn't shoot threes better than they have been, they'll be home early.
  16. It will be interesting this afternoon to see who is right. Jerry Palm of Collegerpi was on one of the St. Louis talk shows last week and his assessment was that there's going to be a greater than normal BCS teams in the 65 this year.
  17. The key word above is "potential" and, as long as the Big East and ACC exist, there will be only paltry leftovers remaining for others less fortunate.
  18. I always thought that, when Mike Anderson came to MU, Tommie would heve thrived there. On a related note, in Gordon's column about conference tournaments and Majerus, he nailed Majerus on the academics issue. Why do you run kids off enmasse making them start over and miss out on that vaunted SLU education if it's academics first?
  19. Suggs will not be coming to Missouri.
