I know loss of Perkins is big but for those of you degenerate gamblers like myself, I think SLU is worth a bet at 28:1 to win the A10 regular season on DraftKings

Thanks for the heads up - just got 35:1 on Fan Duel. The winnings should finance my trip to the NCAA!

  2. I don't get too wrapped up in losing a recruit, but this one stings. Something obviously happened in the past 3 or 4 weeks. Memphis is a $hit hole and the campus is pretty much a reflection of the city. I get playing for an NBA'er is cool, but they don't really have a big history of success as head coach's. 10-8 in CUSA last year - here's hoping they continue in mediocracy and we blow them out next year, with this kid watching from the bench.

Jett, Kwamain, Lisch, Goodwin, Fisher etc... I mean Yuri is good, but he is not by any means the best SLU PG of the last 20 years. Obviously he is still a freshman so he could very well pass these guys, but not yet.

I agree that those you named are very good, if not better. But from a pure PG perspective, I really like Yuri. All those guys can and do play the 2.  Yuri never will. Maybe I'm a purist but I still say he is the best pure pg I have seen here.

  4. In my 20 years of closely following the Bills, Collins is the best point I have seen put on a uniform. Not saying we haven't had great players who played the point....but Yuri, IMO, is the best true point guard we have seen. Everybody can improve themselves, but the tone of a few seem to be that he is serviceable until he improves "X"....when it should be he is freaking awesome and if he improves "X" then we have a top 10 PG. He has made everybody around him better. Dare I say it, but even Jordan Goodwin has become a better PG watching Yuri play. Some of those passes by JGood yesterday were non-existent the first 2+ years.

  5. I didn't see this posted elsewhere and thought it would be appropriate here. Nice article on French. I had never heard this before...

"Pushing French throughout his robust career at SLU has been junior guard Jordan Goodwin. The pair were looking at SLU and played each other in a high school game. After the game French told Goodwin about Saint Louis saying, “if you go I’ll go.”"

Nice little piece on our latest 2021 offer. Ajiboye has a couple nice things to say about SLU.

“I was very honored a big time school like Saint Louis believes in me,” he said. “I’m a player who likes to win and the school is a winning program.”

Never thought I'd see the day a recruit called us a "big time school" and "a winning program". Times are changing in Billiken land!

  7. I hate to start a new topic for this but wasn't sure where it may fit in. Does anybody have a link, file, etc of our band playing "When the Saints go Marching In"? I feel like there was one circling about a decade ago but I can't find it for the life of me.

Nashville, SLU's not getting a block of tickets. So we're on our own. I'm going to probably order mine this week. Lower bowl are $46 all the center court both sides are sold out. Corners and under the basket were only seats left in LB.

Ok, thanks for the update. I'll check out the arena site for tix. Hoping to make it with the wife and a few of the kids...

  9. Do we know if we'll get a stream? I don't see it on the ESPN+ lineup. Perhaps we can stream through YouTube again? I know people b!tched about the quality of Billiken Maddness, but if anybody who matters is reading, I think we would all be very grateful for an opportunity to see the game.

Im still decently high on Hankton. I liked what I saw in limited action, and his main weakness was that he wasnt physical enough, looks like hes fixing that.

I agree with this. I think Hankton isn't getting much love around here but could be a critical piece at the 4, especially with the added bulk.

OK now, so your problem here is that you felt let down or betrayed by Gordon and therefore you decided it was OK to vent your frustrations on an 18 year old. Very nice Clock!

I guess I'll address the elephant in the room here. How can you come down so hard with this righteous, holier than thou attitude after the things you have said and continue to say about Micky Pearson.

    Seems incredibly hypocritical.

I have PS Vue. It doesn't freeze because I have good internet. I was paying $140 for premium service because I needed channels to watch Billiken basketball and international soccer. I'm paying $95 for what I have now, which has the channels I will be using. I am saving $45 a month. It is very simple. I don't know why this is so hard to comprehend, 05

After reading all this, I've come to the conclusion that it is all perspective. If all you know are people who already were getting the bare minimum and bundled it with internet, your perspective is that ditching cable doesn't save money. For those of us who were getting a premium package and had good internet costs from another provider, it can be significant (i.e. >50% savings). Now, you can negotiate a crazy deal when you threaten to leave a cable provider and the costs will be comparable (which I have done before). However, all things being equal, streaming services will win out most of the time.
